I Cannot Open Utilities

I have bought TS19 because it was on sale on G2A (not steam) and now I cannot open utilities to install mods, i also dont have any routes installed onto ts

 

If you don't have any routes installed how do you know the game is installed?

 

I did the tutorial map, that worked

 

What does that mean?
What did you actually do?

 

I drove the class 170 (to learn how to drive it), its the academy

 

Try another route that came with the game - Just do a Quick Drive
You can chose any route and train and see if that works

To open Utilities they are in \steamapps\common\railworks Utilities.exe

 

There are no routes that came with my game. and utilities does not work , I went into the railworks folder, clicked utilities and it did nothing, also i didn't buy it on steam. I will check your reply tomorrow morning

 

Even if you did not buy it on Steam the full game should install without you having to use Utilities

Go in to your Steam Client
Click on Library > Train Simulator then Right Click > Properties
Another Box appears and the third Tab shows Local Files - select that
4th option is Verify Integrity of Game Files
It will report some missing and then acquire them for you
When it is finished do it again as it sometimes misses files on the first verify

Hmh....weird. Train simulator is not showing on steam, also i have trains simulator 19 not 21, and 19 is not on steam. I will try reinstalling

 

If you did not get a Steam key to activate the product (which then automatically downloads) then as far as I'm aware you have not got an official product, I might be wrong (it wouldn't be the first time) but I'm pretty sure TS is only available through the Steam platform.

Also the official product would have automatically updated to TS2021 for free (again through Steam) I think you've either accidentally, been duped (i.e. paid for something not legitimate) or intentionally downloaded a cracked copy myself.

 

Sounds like you have an "offline copy" of TSx... Check with DTG that your license key is valid and if it is then get a steam account and let everythign update. If it's not then back to G2A to find out who needs suing

 

I heard people that bought it on steam also had problems opening utilities, i will try to reinstall

 

Before you reinstall What was the name of what you purchased and How did you install it?

 

I installed it by extracting the files into my folder. i think the name was "Train Simulator 2019"

 

Why did you install it like that?

When you purchase something from a reseller they either send you the program with an .exe file
or the give you a key to redeem it on Steam via the Steam Client
They don't expect people to start opening and extracting files - unless it's from a hookey site

The game does not work without the Steam Client installed.

 

The game as supplied by DTG from the steam store does not work without the steam client having checked the license validity
A cracked version would work as described
