Oh I know they are hidden, as they tend to be used at night. It was a case as scenery that sort of rail furniture is not present?

Continuing my weekly spamming- Just a couple of a 150 on the Falmouth to Truro Branch line before it goes into the tunnel between Chacewater and Carnon Downs.

What I find interesting is that the Tunnel was clearly built to two lines, yet the cutting was made for one!

This is my home line, so I'd be very pleased to see it. It's impossible to imagine a Cornish route without Brunel's magnificent bridge, so it would need to start at Plymouth, and allowing thirty-odd miles, which is typical for a TSW route, that would get you to about Lostwithiel (change at Bodmin Parkway for the Bodmin & Wenford steam railway... unlikely).

Particularly interesting stations here are Lostwithiel (historic signal box and crossing, and also notable for being my home station) and Liskeard. A combination of Class 43s, which every Cornish person relies on to get to the mainland, local Sprinters, and a few 66s for freight will do nicely, thank you.

Mhhhhh weird. It's much to big for one single line, but I don't think that 2 trains would fit in that tunnel. Well pretty close if so.

Don't get me wrong but a Cornish line untill Lostwithiel is not typicall cornish. China Clay, Branch lines are located in the other side of Cornwall, the Penzance end, which would be more typicall, and also better in my opinion.

It is more likely from the Broad-gauge era.

Interesting isnt it. Which half of 60 miles would you naturally choose?

If you could get as far as Lostwithiel you could have the freight to Fowey and the Looe branch line from Liskeard...but that is extra mileage that they don't seem interested in :(

would like to add an idea not sure if has been mentioned but maybe lets say if they were unable to have any of the branch lines on the cornish mainline route they could come with a pack of all of the together lets call it the "Cornish branch line" pack but yeah would love the game to someday have this route as with the new services you could have the 800s and 43s running with 66 freight which would give great variety and opportunities for a long lifespan

Lovely photos dave from Cornwall, and thanks for the explanation of the Tamper, Rail Runner. I was curious as to how it actually worked and found the following YouTube video from a Tamper manufacturer and thought I’d pass it on if anyone else was curious:

Just because of because of because...

Its lockdown again, so my daily exercise coincides with some trains...

A couple of 43/Castle Class photos.

Just bumping the thread again just to wave the flag for Cornwall!

Just little ol me getting the Cornwall drum out again and banging it loudly.

Who doesn't want to see or even drive 800's, 43's and 158's whip past the old remaining mine engine houses dotted along the Cornwall line?

    I am sure people would?

There must be some love for the Longrock area of the Penzance line. 43's stabled waiting for their next turn or having them slowly crawling past the depot and the train wash station. Along with the stunning St Michaels Mount in the background!

That would be a ‘must have’ if and when it comes to TSW2... it would mean that it was more modern, but oh well, it would give an opportunity for a Class 57 to be added!

I would be more hopeful that we got "St Piran" the skin for the 08....

But wishful thinking. I am on the understanding everyone wants London to Brighton or the E/WCML :(

If they put a 57 in, then it would be an added service on the GWE as well :)

Definitely! Let’s hope that it is added. Furthermore, hopefully there would be a service where you could take the Class 57 from Long Rock to Par to pick up the Par to Exeter Summer services using MK3 Day coaches.

As no one asked, demanded or requested. I continue our jaunt up and down the mainline of Cornwall.

Here is a 800 and a four carriage 150 at Par station, along with a network rail "stone blower" in the siding.

Track Machines are definitely a ‘Must Have’ on TSW2, even if you cannot operate them, just having the opportunity to take them to site or to use them in driver-training moves, it would be great to have!

I am sure someone asked for a picture of 150 fighting the wind and waves of Mounts Bay as it heads to Penzance?

    Oh no one did....

    Oh.

How about a 158 in Truro after it returned from Falmouth Docks?

    No?

    Oh, sorry.

A 43 heading towards Penzance out of Truro?

    No?

    Sorry.

    Have a great week!

I recently was watching a documentary on Channel 5 this last weekend about a Railtour down to Cornwall. I have to say that if the Route was added, then having the ability to have a railtour Path running on the line would be amazing. Especially considering the fact that they are releasing a Hydraulics pack for GWE which hopefully will mean that there will be come more locos to use...
    What are your thoughts?

Ultimately...I would be happy with anything down this way :)

In May the "Midland Pullman" is heading down this way, so lockdown pending, that should be a good one to catch along the line :)

So in the last of this years Trains of Cornwall Spam.

    We have a 158 a Truro Station
A cracking shot of St Michaels Mount from Penzance station
A 800 in Penzance with the large dome from the bank in the distance.

    #Cornwall

    Stay safe everyone

I am glad to see that GWR HSTs are still running. Maybe this could also be a DLC if the route comes? If this route is added, maybe the Castle Set should be used. But I would definitely prefer the Mk3s with Drop Downs!

More glorious spamming of Cornish Mainline here. This time Redruth station.

In the back ground you can see Carn Brea castle- a folly built in the 1700's and now a restaurant, and beside it the Basset Monument. A huge granite edifice to celebrate the owner of lots of the Cornish mines in the 1850's.

Oh and of course a 43 heading off to Penzance and a 150 coming up from Penzance.

Right, I seem to have flogged this dead horse enough.

My last couple of pictures of 800's running along the mainline near Truro, and then I will leave this thread alone!

Those around the world will be hearing a lot about Cornwall in the coming months as the G7 meeting of several global leaders is being held in June :) Maybe DTG will release a DLC just in time for them all? #wishfulthinking

    Have fun peeps :)

Penzance to Plymouth would be the best route ever. Such a beautiful line. Even if it only came with the existing HST, 66 and a 150 I think it would go down brilliantly.

    definitely a vote from me

Glad others are liking this idea of a route!

Trains, railway, water and castles in the distance. What more do simmers need?

I would prefer mark 1's with drop downs and Western!

Or a set of Collett Sunshine stock with a Castle or even some Toplights and a Saint!

Nice. :) It was the view of the Mount, combined with the track that wasn't, well, let's say as 'complicated' as the throat into Penzance station that gave it away.

Cornish Mainline would be a great candidate for an additional (steam) loco pack when steam is released.

Penzance to Exeter would be a suitable route add on which can link up to the GWR DLC which is already been released some months ago. Special GWR services would also be a nice addition such as the Night Riviera sleeper.

err, that would mean me being up past my bed time...however as the masses have asked, I do have some pictures taken a couple of years ago.

Please see attached the 57 at Truro pulling in, sorry about the quality, it was dark (I was about to get on) and then at Paddington (I had just got off it) also the 57 inside the Long Rock Shed...from the open day the other year :)

Oh and for completeness, St Piran all set up to shunt the sleeper carriages....

    Hope that helps?

    D

p.s I had promised myself to stop spamming this thread with my pictures!
