It would be nice to be able to couple/uncouple Class 395 units. Currently, you’re unable to do so because if you try coupling up, you won’t be able to get brake release on the other unit. So it would be nice to see this feature fixed/added and then services/scenarios added where you are booked to couple/uncouple. The forward/rear preparation buttons already work which is nice to see the hatch open and close and the uncouple button already works so it’s a shame to see this go to waste if you‘re unable to have services where you are booked to couple/uncouple. The only other button that needs to be functional in order to couple up like in real life would be the ‘Train Wash’ button which locks cab door and allows for slow speed operation. And obviously, they need to fix the coupling issue so that the train recognises that you have coupled up in order to obtain brake release/power after coupling. Train wash button: This is a video of Class 395 coupling up:
After how long? I was there at least 10 minutes and they didn't close, I couldn't go anywhere as they wouldn't close.
That’s not correct. As Paul said, there’s a button on the backwall labelled Unit hatch close. Why couldn’t you go anywhere? You weren’t able to obtain brake release? The coupler hatch being left open has no effect on obtaining brake release/power.
Totally agreed, I also posted a more general suggestion on this matter here, would be amazing if that would be one of the next features
Is there a similar procedure to close ICE 3 coupler doors? I clicked open by mistake instead of parking brake off and I can't get them to close.
It is not possible, it gets up to 25kmh then limits the speed but it will not close at that speed and can't go faster because the door is open.
This needs to be in otherwise they might as well have not bothered putting in the function to couple and uncouple.
What is that supposed to mean? If the doors are not closing I am restricted to 25, If I start a new scenario and it happens again what can I do? There is no close button on the 407 like on the 395, so the only option now is to continue at 25 kmh.
That's because you clicked the coupling Button twice which in that case, your not supposed to as the System thinks that you're now coupling up to another Train. Only click the button Once and the Hatch will close automatically above 25km/h.
I was supposed to click the button to release the EPB as that is right next to it but hit the wrong one, I did not double click anything to turn on the speed restriction.
No, I am referring to the coupler doors on the front end. It will not close after waiting and the unit will not exceed 25kph due to the doors being open.
For Class 395, I managed to close the coupling hatch, same goes with the TGV, manually open and close the coupler hatch. For ICE, the coupling hatch can be opened from the inside and will closed automatically after you passed at least 30 km/h
