Core Update For Xb1, X1x And Series X|s

To the best of my knowledge it is native. There’s a clue if you look in the Xbox settings, where there’s a mouse sensitivity option. I believe it only works though if the game developer enables it for their title.

 

What settings do the new versions run at? And in the future, could there be a performance mode that enables 120fps, or a graphics mode that increases the quality to levels higher than we've seen even on PC?

 

All the settings were revealed in last Tuesday’s Roadmap stream.

 

When does this series x update come out? Ive not watched any of the recent streams so a bit behind on stuff.

 

Next Tuesday supposedly, a couple of days before the Boston release.

 

Matt did you get today the first time the Sound Bug or is this happen multiple times when you testing many routes?

 

It was the native Series X version I believe.

Apparently it's all the same settings as Series X, just in 1080p instead of 4k at 60fps.

 

Same settings as per Princess Entrapta the only thing that may be an issue would be timetables, may not be full like the PC. But that is still to be determined. Hopefully the Series S will be able to get layers on HMA and the full GWE timetable.

I have a feeling older consoles may not get layers on Dresden. Of course they won't admit it until its too late.

 

Are the previous gens being update to current gen consoles this week? Is that part of tomorrow's update?

One question I haven’t seen asked is will series X get additional services on older routes to match services offered on pc? Great Western for example.

He said yes in a stream, same timetables as PC on the series x (maybe too on series s).

 

Yes, the two affected routes on console will have full PC timetables and layers on the Series X. Matt confirmed on the streams last Tuesday and Thursday

There's only been two routes with any differences so no "new routes" will have had altered differences. On Tuesday's stream Matt also confirmed that the new gen consoles will work two steps higher graphically than the old ones (High as opposed to Low in PC terms) and on Thursday he said they may look into why box XB1X and PS5 cannot work in "ultra" settings (again, as compared to PC)

This is one of the things Microsoft just get right.

Battlefield 3 was free play at the weekend, now, I used to play this a LOT on the Xbox 360, at least 6 years ago.

I downloaded it on the series X, to find all my save game, all my multiplayer unlocks for all the guns, all my K/D ratios, everything was intact. Considering I skipped a console because I never played it on the XBone I was very impressed.

 

You Can get always your Save Files when you start the game on a new Console, and on PlayStation I lost everything.

 

Yeah, MS have been working on this infrastructure for 25 years to get to this point, LOVE there's this seamless integration provided by their online backend. It's something I often have to explain as part of telling people how Microsoft don't see Sony as their competition this console generation, it's all about Azure vs AWS.

 

So... Am I to uninstall the whole of TSW2 (+DLC) ready for this update if I am using an Xbox Series S? If not, do I just leave it as it is?

 

Well ive still not seen any new updates available

 

The console will download the update automatically in the background and replace only the files which need replacing

I thought Sam said on stream the other day, that the update is due Tuesday. Likely afternoon time. It was a third of the way into the stream.

All previous updates have been on the Tuesday before the DLC drops on the Thursday, what makes you think that this one will be any different?

Adam said the updates are going out today. You will get the new engine upgrade and redesigned UI before the Rush Hour season ticket/deluxe edition arrives. This also means next-gen versions because the new Unreal Engine upgrade supports those (unless they hold off specifically updating for those platforms).

There is no PS5 version of TSW 2 on the PlayStation store. I suspect the PS5 version, which will have the core update etc, will only go live on Thursday.

 

May also only go live once the update is released, there are a couple of games on PS5 that have done this.

 

All DLC have had to be rebaked so all files will be replaced. Confirmed several times on stream

With regards to the "double download for new gen consoles" Sam seemed to say on the stream last night (towards the end of it) that the 4.26 release is on Tuesday, but the multi-console version release will be Thursday...
That would say to me that consoles will end up downloading their content TWICE. Maybe this can be confirmed on the general Q&A stream tonight?

 

In any event, unless you’re desperate to play before Thursday, it’s probably a good idea to delete TSW 2 if you’re planning to upgrade to the next gen version, saving you the hassle of double downloads.

Would be nice to see next gen versions drop today, was hoping to play some HMA before the Boston Sprinter drops.

 

I’ve deleted my PS4 content. Was hoping for the PS5 release to hit today so I could be ready for Boston Sprinter on Thursday, but looks like I’ll have to download everything on Thursday now. Luckily I have a decent internet connection.

 

whys none of the dtg devs commented to give an update? normally they comment after so long when all the speculation begins.

 

Speculation on this started yesterday afternoon/evening, and I'm not sure when the team logs on but it's only just "business hours" in the UK from about five mins after I write this... I'm sure it'll get covered tonight on stream if not before then on here

 

That's going to be slightly annoying then for next-gen players. They will update and get last-gen builds on the new Unreal Engine and then update again in a few days. Doesn't seem very efficient. Would be better to release today or do all updates on Thursday to prevent double updates. I will be uninstalling some add-ons anyway.

 

Only on PS5 where that's a thing. On XBox it just automatically updates all content.

 

This seems reasonable as that's when new builds of games usually show up on XBox. Generally in the afternoon, varying based on if it's summer or winter etc.

Yep, I really do not understand how many times they need to repeat themselves.

TODAY: Engine overhaul including dedicated ninth gen console versions.

THURSDAY: First Rush Hour release, Boston Sprinter.

 

Most studios stagger big releases like this when they have multiple ones this close together, it gives time to ensure one thing is working smoothly in the wild before the next thing which relies on it comes out. It's fairly standard practice.

 

Well Nat has put on the PS forum that the upgraded version for new gen consoles is not coming until Thursday.

 

She said the ps5 version to be specific as they dont upgrade the way the xbox does but who knows we'll see soon enough
