The hatich class 800 or azuma if you know it by lner or is a bimode train it use a diesel engine and pantorgraph
GWE is set in 2015 before the overhead power system was completed. For this reason, we will not see the Class 800 series on this route. Instead we will have to wait for a different section of the line set after 2019.
Yes I want to see it in game, no I don't want to see it on GWE since GWE is set before the 800 entered service
Or dtg could just make a new gwr route. We haven't had any gwr content since the route released 4 years ago
This is true. Apart from the Diesel Legends pack, this route has never had any real love in the form of DLCs. It is most unlikely that they will re do the Paddington to Reading section but more locomotive DLCs would be appreciated. I have so often suggested the Class 57 + Mk3 sleepers, Class 165, Class 180 with perhaps even the Class 360/2 Heathrow Connect units for services to Hayes and Harlington. Plenty of options but no apparent desire at DTG which is surprising when you observe the quantity of DLCs on other routes. I think that these locomotives would go a long way towards appeasing players that are anxiously awaiting a section of this route with full electrification and the much requested Class 800 series fleet. Come on DTG, give GWE a little more love.
I mean it was the 1st ever passenger route and probably why I think there hasn't been as much love compared to more recent routes is it was built in mind of doing this. I feel dtg at the time we're very much going with the flow with how tsw as a game would be and very much the audience changed when it arrived on consoles.
The 2015 time period also neatly explains why we don't have the FGW Blue livery on stock as this was around the time that First Group were launching GWR and obviously wanted focus on this rebranding for publicity purposes.
So perhaps now is the best time to give it a little more love. I would really appreciate more play options on this as it is a great route albeit underutilised.
Personally I preferred the GWE route when there were no wires. I understand and appreciate the progress made by Network Rail in the last 30 years or so but feel that the route from Paddington to Reading had much more atmosphere when everything was diesel powered. I would like to see the Hitachi IEP trains at some point but believe a different section of the GWML is the best option.
Bristol temple meads to London Paddington Swindon to London Paddington bath spa etc would be absolutely amazing to have in the game
