I'm pleased with the purchase. Thanks guys for their work. There are small problems, but nothing is irreparable. And sounds are already an old topic and we all believe that they will soon fix it. Thanks Skyhook. waiting for BR187.

Sorry, I must have missed that announcement. When and by whom was that promise made?

It was either the last regular Roadmap or it was the first Rush Hour Roadmap.

Well, I don't see any mention of Cane Creek in the current Roadmap. Or any other existing American routes for that matter.

Only bug fixes listed on the roadmap are coming from what we've been told. I wouldn't go expecting any more than that. What they've said on stream is that all the work they have done to date on preserved collection will be released, they have not committed to anything more than that.

Look out! Some of that Cane Creek rolling stock has escaped onto SPG. They never turn up as leads though :(.... but I fixed it :) UP now departing Cumberland Yard on their stolen train heading up SPG.

This conductor is referring to Grand Junction, UT! Please put my city of residence in the correct state!

Anyone any idea if the ribbed hopper will be added to the Livery Designer? Disappointing that it's missing.

Is Cane Creek worth buying at £19.99?

Do you want to look at a river for ten mins and then have Mile after mile at leas than 30mph in a featureless environment?

Think sand patch with no hills and no trees

I think that's up to personal preference. The desert scenery is pretty well done (if you ignore the occasional floating rocks, ugly road crossings, etc), so if slow pace is not a problem for you, then I bet the route must be a great experience with the desert views. At one point I would also like to get it, because I love the feel it has, but not until it's 50% off or gets an official patch from the developers.

They spent more time and effort on the rocks than on the train.
If this were Rock Simulator, buy it.
    Otherwise, steer clear.

Don't forget that you can use the 'Off the rails' option and still enjoy a nice looking route while having fun with say a BR Class 66 ;)

I'm now worried that horseshoe curve will just be more of the same, floating mountains, rocks traffic sounds from deep in the treeline.Train couplers at random heights, and who knows how the locos NS liveries will turn out.

So a patch today contained fixes for the AC4400CW as well as other CC fixes. Can anyone confirm that the AC44 actually looks correct now?

Did you notice the patch notes didn't mention fixing the ac4400cw rear truck so the wheels would move.

Actually, seems they also fixed the rear truck too (the animations of it). Wheels are spinning as they should now, all 6 of them.

Correct if if I'm wrong, but to me it seems... they still haven't flipped the bogie the correct way.

I just looked up the boogies and they look the same on a real UP AC4400CW so what looks upside down?

What about the brake shoes? Are they animated now as well?

In any way, it's great that they finally made some fixes to the route. Will try to get the route in the near future to try it out.

...I can confirm that the UP version of the AC4400 is now on the correct height as the CSX version, but the rear bogie still looks twisted. Except for this, the loco has finally been improved and now looks more realistic!

I took a really good look at the rear boogie and can find nothing suggesting anything twisted on it.

Many US mainline diesels (AC4400CW Hi-Ad included) have kind of a "U-shaped" truck frame, where the truck has two sidewalls only with only one end wall. (the sidewalls are connected in more spots, but we're talking the outside frame now). These U-shapes are facing outwards, so the openings of the frames are pointing towards the ends of the loco.
    upload_2021-11-24_20-10-36.png
(my excellent rendition of the situation)

You can see on this diagram the truck frame goes further away from the axles on the inner side than the outer.

Now Skyhook AC44 rear bogie from the new photo still seems flippes as the longer side of the bogie faces the stairs and the long-hood end. I currently don't own Cane Creek (and looking at this I might wait a bit longer), but I'd say they have still missed one of the bigger problems the loco has.

Just tested it. The rear wheels are fixed (they move now). I think they also fixed the ditch lights when using the horn. They are not blinking now.

They still need to fix the ditch lights (when using the horn) and the alerter light in the SD40-2, but this was a good start for sure.

Sry, the middle image seems to have disappeared and editing doesn't allow me to put it back in.

The animated brakes parts are stil incorrect, some parts aren't animated. Also the dempers are missing on the right side (Front) and left side (back) of the bogies

I think I just found another little problem. The crossing gates do work (they open and close), but I can't hear any warning sounds. I'm not sure if that is correct, but it looks to me it probably isn't.

I tested this with the first crossing just after entering the branch.

I see what your saying but the current look thou incorrect doesn't look total terrible as it stands..

And i think the word twisted is a incorrect term for this problem.

Are there no sounds at all, or they're just really quiet? Because LIRR has the same problem - there are crossing gate alarm bell sounds, but they're so quiet that you can't hear them at all, only if you're right over them with free-cam and a quiet enviroment.

Alerter still not fixed, light doesn't work, only sound warning. Some floating rocks in the canyon, otherwise much better. Good to know that the route is not abandoned.

I notice the crossings with the masts and flashing lights don't turn off they always stay on and the bell rings after the train has come and gone.

Tried going there with the freeview ( "8" ) camera before the train arrived and waiting, and also tried stopping the train next to the crossing and shutting down the engine. I could not hear anything in any case, even turning my speakers to max volume. I could hear my own steps really loud, but I couldnt hear the crossing bells at all.

    Sigh....

The part of the crossing gate circled is a counterweight. It's supposed to move with the arm. And the lights should go out when the arm is completely up.

I don't understand how MSTS can get level crossings right, on their 1st attempt, 20 years ago, but devs struggle with it in 2021. :|
