With the end of year new stream coming up I thought I'd start a quick post for people to comment what they would like to hear about. I've no idea whether requests are being taken as such but if the stream is still being planned what would you like to know about? My own are what is happening with dioramas now? Will we see more moving background scenery (diggers finally animated in places) Biggest success of 21 Tsw2 vision for 22 Are there more developers now in discussions to come on board?
They have suggested there will be an end of year stream in other streams this last month or so and there was one last year in December. If they are going to do one, it will either be next week or the week between Christmas and New Year (it was on the 30th December last year).
1. Tangible info re Spirit Of Steam. 2. Where do we stand on Scenario Editor 2.0? 3. A robust overhaul of QA and snagging during 2022, including products offered up by third parties such as Rivet. 3a. What the plans are to address the existing poor quality items, particularly Rivet products. 4. Address increasing calls for route merging where we now have several routes in game which abut on each other. There’s probably more issues I would like to see a briefing on but they will do as a start.
I think there was whispering of an end of year one which I "guess" (speculate) will be a bit of a wrap up of the year and perhaps (if its not on the roadmap its not being looked at) teaser of something currently or due to go into the final stages.
How is steam going on? Can we expect all big three will get a steam release? Since the first roadmap no new 3rd party devs joined the project. Any substantial hints that this could change in 22? And if not, where are the problems? And does DTG also reach out to potential 3rd parties or do you wait for them to contact you? So steam and RH were the big core development things in 2021; will a similar thing happen in 2022? Maybe an overhaul of the map, the weather system, the dispatcher or any other major core project? Are there already plans for the next UE upgrade? So after focussing on high speed and then (or now) steam, will there be another "theme" coming up? Germany veeery much lacks more historic locos in TSW 2, but DTG made a couple of them for TS. Can we expect more historic german trains any time in 2022?
If there is a end of year stream I'd like to know what was the biggest challenge(s) of this year and the vision for TSW overall going forward. Are we likely to see drastic changes in 2022? I don't see the point in asking if x is coming or if y is being made because that'll get the usual response. I think if they do this stream it should focus on reflection, what they'd do differently and vision for the future as a company without letting on too much about things they're working on and can't discuss.
Any end of year streams will come with a dedicated thread so that we can collect all of your questions from the same place and ensure we don't miss any. I will provide you with a link when we are ready to start collecting your questions.
Also, if anyone would like to ask any questions relating to the itinerary of my family’s Christmas plans, this is NOT the official thread for that either. Wait for the official thread or you might come round on the wrong day, we may not have enough Yorkshire puddings for you, and your questions about TSW2 will remain unanswered.
Nat isn't confirming or denying anything. Sort of like the nuclear weapons the US Navy would neither confirm nor deny were on its ships.......
Why do I feel like my size 15s were politely reprimanded? stujoy I shall be randomly door knocking as of this week. I'd envisage there is a possibility at some point I'll find the correct house, I will appreciate though if Aunt Bessie is not of the usual quality. That said I hope the suggestions above are drawn across into any official threads.
I’d like to know if, how and when DTG will catch up with the massive backlog of updates, which have been ready for months, to be released.
That's OK, Ugh, I can skip that concoction. Just make sure you have plenty of turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, cranberries and sweet potato. Plus do not, I repeat , do not forget the pumpkin pie.
That should be the mandatory New Year's resolution for DTG. My New Year's resolution is to complain, whine and stamp my foot even more than I did this year, especially about those TSW issues that date from the Dark Ages. Do you think it'll get me anywhere? I mean it works with the wife.....sometimes.
I’d also be interested in Third party development updates to routes. Multiplayer, any news When will the next DTG survey be released Will we start to see additional pc scalability options
I’m not having any of those this Christmas! I’ll be having chicken, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots, Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets (sausage wrapped in bacon) and gravy. There will be green beans, sweet potato and possibly cranberry sauce for some members of the family but I don’t really like them. Possibly none of the usual sage and onion stuffing this year because for the first time ever, we have substituted chicken for the traditional turkey. Being British, I have never had or even seen a pumpkin pie, so that would be a challenge. You would be most welcome if you do get the correct address and you have seen the menu now (available only on 25th). Aunt Bessie is providing a significant portion of the food but as myself and Mrs Stujoy are cooking it all, anything could happen. The risk is entirely yours
Well now you can ask questions here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...-a-ask-your-questions-here.49820/#post-424189
I'd like to ask why GWE was ignored for so long and when will the updates plus RD support come? Concoction? The Yorkshire Pudd is to be respected! I can do without the Turkey and pumpkin pie though (I looked for a green emoj but couldn't find one, lol)
You should head over here if you want your question to be seen. Perhaps it‘d really be best to lock this thread now.
I do wanna get in some questions abiut new countries, I'll make a proper list when thebofficial thread comes around. Matt has commemted a few times that nothing should be expected for new countries, because it would be unsatisfying to only have one route from that country and then having to wait years before getting another one from that country. Me and some other forum users have quite differing views on that, wanting to see for example Dutch railways, even if it's just one route. I mainly wonder if DTG has noted this feedback, and is willing to keep an open mind, but also if future third party devs could bring a change to this, with rivet already having introduced Switzerland. I really do hope 3rd parties get on board and start developing more diverse content, does DTG have plans to help new developers get into the game, because a lot of them now feel like it's too big of a hurdle to take. I also wonder if DTG has plans to get more out of the countries already in game. For example, France is in the game, with a lot of security systems for it being functional and signals etc. existing in the game already, what's stopping DTG from doing a French commuter route for example? That would already offer a great increase in variety without new signalling and safety systems having to be developed. But DTG can also get more out of the 'big three'. For example with German diesel or vintage routes, or with an UK mainline with overhead electrification (i.e. the WCML or ECML). It seems to me that even within those countries DTG seems very restricted to the content they make. With the BR 612, a tilting DMU there finally seems some change in this, but the same route also has the same Dostos with cab car we've seen 4 times before already... I'll make a more concrete list as I've previously mentioned, but I'm mainly concerned with increasing gameplay variety, as I've been noticing that I'm getting bored with the current content types since Hamburg - Lübeck. Edit: that became way more detailled than I intended.
How about the future plans of classic uk diesels? There were a lot of suggestions like the class 25, class 50 or class 56.
Why is the game taking a backwards steps in loco functions included? Compare SPG to Sherman Hill and the number of working functions has decreased, why is this and is the way the game is moving going forward?
AIUI, it's because LGV Med only includes the TGV-specific TVM system (re-used on the Class 395), whereas DTG never developed the everyday SNCF signaling system used by other French trains.
jolojonasgames meridian#2659 redrev1917 Just a friendly reminder that the official thread can be found here. Questions in this thread are not being collected by DTG.
Actually, they did develop KVB (the everyday signalling system) for the section around Marseille, as far as I understand it. That is fully functional and accurate as far as I know.
