Everything I have read talks about the "perfect cast". Which appears to mean "the longest cast possible". There's never a mention of accuracy or distance. With the PS4 controller, when doing an overhead cast I always end up launching it in the bushes on the other side of the lake. It goes waaaaay too far. Even holding R2 to hold the line can't slow it down. I don't know if I would call that a perfect cast. How are you supposed to make a shorter cast? The only way I have been able to achieve a shorter cast is to purposely cast poorly and have it smack down hard somewhere in front of me with no accuracy. Any help from someone who has this figured out would be appreciated.
Hi. Thanks for your reply. I know about L3, but that is a very short cast. I'm trying to figure out how to get something in between 2 ft out and the other side of the lake. I have had some success... sometimes, but usually the cast is landing on the other bank, or at least way farther than I would have liked.
Change from total casting to basic. Its a bar instead. IF YOU BROTHED TO DO THE Academy , instead of rushing online you would know that R2 is finger on the line. Cast in any mode and press and hold R2 to stop the line flying out = shorter cast.
Don't pull the rod too far back before whipping forward and releasing L2 to cast. Even this is hit and miss. Best to use the basic which gives way more control like others have suggested.
