It’s a real shame. I was really looking forward to this, but evidently, according to the stream by the Aussie bloke and the forums, I can say that I’m not going to buy. :( it’s a real shame. Maybe some sort of Quality Control/checks for “realism” should be implemented by DTG?
I’d buy if the sounds were corrected just because I’m not willing for another 146 sounding loco.

I have found another issue related to the DB BR 187.
    This is really too bad!

Look at the locomotive I have just leave some minutes before...

    TSW2 - DB BR 187 - DOOR - CLOSED.JPG

When I was coming back to it... I noticed the door closed.
But I believed I have left it open instead!

Well... few meters closer to the locomotive...

    TSW2 - DB BR 187 - DOOR - OPEN.JPG

It "automatically" looks open, as I left it!

    I really like this locomotive!
The design is great and other details it have.
Skyhook of the design point of view it did it well!
But the functionality - AFB is unusable! -, the sounds, and now this visual issue, and other ones like the locomotive number with different color, make it a bit irritating.

Sound it is another problem of these locomotive, but the others too.
Covid situation complicated recording them. OK I duly understand it.
So hopes this can be fixed in the near future.
But the other ones, can be fixed without the need to be in the real locomotive.

Hopes as now DTG is working closer with third party companies, will fix these issues of this nice DLC. It deserves it!

If TSW 2 expands into Austria and Slovenia this would have been fixed with RSSLO using a Railpool BR187 at Aßling German name for Jesenice on the Karawanken Bahn Villach Ljubljana railway line. That way TSW2 DB BR187 will resemble the TS22 version sound wise

That wasn't even acknowledged as an issue yet. I'd wager Skyhook isn't even aware that the lights are wrong.

You know if they can't even be bothered to get the headlight configuration right, what else have they overlook. 2mins of research on google or youtube would show them the headlights are wrong.

Yes I have proposed on another thread, as DTG it has contact with Railpool to have available the BR187 too.
Of course I mentioned there, all the bugs it have be fixed.

So according to your comment, the RP 187 it is only used in Austria and Slovenia? Not in Germany?

I forgot to mention another issue related to get into the locomotive from the ground.
When I tried to do that looking at the door and steps about the "Sign" that indicates "Open the door" and the other one about "Climb the steps" (do not remember if that is exactly", do not appear at all!
So I could not get into the locomotive from that side!
Note: I get out from that side, and I left the door open.
Then I tried from the other side, and I can do it.
    Really strange again and annoying!.

Forgot to mention Germany since they're based there only mentioned Austria and Slovenia because of RSSLO being focused there.

Ok... Guess that, but may be this specific locomotive for some reason it was used mainly on other countries, like you mentioned.
    Thanks

Will the LZB finally get displayed or will they keep the same screen like on the 146/185?

Not sure about that. But skyhook seems to be very communicative when one of their releases are close. Now few months after horseshoe curve, pure silence about the progress of the br 187 update.

Dresden - Riesa was already released before this one came out, so also not having the upgraded braking system is a sign about dtgs "quality control".

A truely nice locomotive, but should have created by tsg in the first place.

Yes, +- 1 month ago they were working on 'AFB, PZB, SIFA & LZB', that was also the last time that they gave info about it. On the last roadmp there was something said about the 187 that the update might release this month/very soon!

Yes it will be, hopefully they will also fix it good and not make it worse. The 187 itself is in TSW2 an amazing loco but f.e. the sounds & AFB etc aren't, but if that will all be fixed i think it will be an very fun DLC!

And fix the headlight configuration, at least get the optics of your model right.

I still couldn't bring myself to buy this on sale recently with all the glaring issues with this loco.

On the one hand, that does make sense. Talk about your commitment to fixing released content when you want people to buy your new product. On the other hand though, we do know from TSG that 3rd party fixes may wait for more than half a year before DTG’s QA has a look at it. Not saying that’s the case here but one does wonder if the update would even be out by now if Skyhook finished it a week after release.

This. Rivet’s horrible 204 is at least eye candy when you see it. Not so Skyhook’s 187 with its wrong headlights, which you can find out within 5 seconds by typing “Br 187” in Google’s image search. I’m not sure if Skyhook just don’t care or are that incompetent.

Hopes the really nice BR 187, be completely fixed soon!
Too long waiting for it, for the ones who purchased at launch!

Could be on the next update at the beginning of August?

If things are fixed I'd love to buy it, but it would need better lights, safety systems, AFB and sounds.

There's just one thing that I find strange about this engine: toward the end of its setup procedures, while you're sitting down at the control desk, you have to set the reverser to forward, which is accomplished by clicking on the reverser button located farthest from you. And that's where the problem comes in: your "hand" cannot reach this button because one of the brake controls blocks it. So . . . you have to press >E< to stand up, press >W< to move a bit to your right or left, press the appropriate button, and then slide around until you can successfully press >E< again to sit down.

Well thats not a problem its the accurate cab, they won't change the reverser buttons due that, would be silly. U can easy apply the brakes to 1B/2 and then u can reach it, apply the brakes won't do harm, ofc u can stand up too.

Do you notice some essential difference, uhm, like for example the 2 brakes indicators at the right of the display?
It must be nice to simulate without HUD and without knowing how fast you are breaking or if the brake has been fully released.

There's lots of cases of annoying design like this, where the game should step in and offer the player a different solution.

For example, the master key whilst seated in the LU 1972 stock, there could be a way to zoom on that area without leaving the seat. Instead they have you fumbling around with the cursor trying to 'catch' the right part to turn it on after key insertion.

Or not being able to leave via the driver door after opening it, because of the platform not giving you the option to step down, so you have to go out the passenger door, yet can climb back in through the driver side door.

Or having to leave the cab in the BR loco to turn on the marker lights. Some players might find these aspects fun, but I think a game should think about player interaction and offer alternatives to the same goals.

All of these things make it feel quite clunky approach to simulation, rather than polished user experience.

Sooo, i guess the "Br 187 update wip" was just a PR Gag from skyhook to get all possible customers for the horseshoe curve. Also we got a lot of info and responses because HC was going to release.

I have just decided now, to not buy anything from that company anymore.

The sounds are much better, they arent perfect but much better. If you want realism, try to get a cab ride in real life.

Just updated the sound ( but according to comments not good enough! ), and the LZB?
So so many months just for that!

What about AFB, and other visual issues reported!

    Skyhook really disappointing!

    DB BR 187:
    • Added new traction motor sound effects
    • Updated PZB and LZB functionality
    • Fixed issue where changing AFB would lock the traction lock
    • Updated audio for AFB and safety systems
    • Updated horn speed
    • AFB can now be activated whilst the train is running
    • Added functionality to driver’s screen so the B icon appears correctly when LZB has changed its isolation state
    • Updated Rail Driver functionality
    • The train brake should now set the dynamic brake as well
    • Added Contact Signaller and Simple Radio functionality
    • Emergency brake can now be triggered when the electric brake is cut-out

Not due to the update is now only for TSW3!
Which I do no not have it yet.
    I will purchase just today!.
Considering the "issues" we have been suffering with new things being launching, I prefer to wait and check about everything is working properly first.
The BR187 was an example I purchased at launch day, due to I really like it this locomotive.
