We are currently investigating crash reports and are asking for further assistance from the community to collect the information in one location. If you've experienced a crash, you can help. Playing on a PC? If you are on a PC, we will need you to troubleshoot the issue by completing our Experiencing Technical Issues Guide as there are many more reasons why the game may crash that are no fault of the software. What we need to know: What platform are you on: (PC/Xbox One/PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 etc...) Route/loco: Service/scenario: Location of crash (please be as specific as possible) Additionally, if you can provide us with imagery or videos of the crash, this would help us to reproduce the issue faster. If you need to report multiple crashes, please include all information in one thread post instead of multiple, to avoid spam.
I am, and have for a while been, unable to play London Commuter at all. This is on PC. The game crashes during the loading screeen any time I try to load a service. This is especially true for services that start at London Victoria. I've tested this morning with 1W98 in the Journey mode, as well as Timetable mode, and with other services using both the Southern and GX electrostars. All crash. I have no mods or modifications to Engine.ini. TLDR: PC London Commuter - 387/2 - Gatwick Express (loco doesn't matter really) 1W98 (or any service out of Victoria) During splash/loading screen. Here's the UE dump not that it shows much. Removed Quoted text - DTG Natster Ps5 - - » Ps5 version I Still cannot play Any scenario in London Commuter Brigthon . Always crash my ps5, the toturials works fine, scenarios crash.
DTG Natster, I didn't understand the edit, it's for me to create a new topic reporting everything I mentioned, I had a lot of work to assemble this dossier and it all went downhill.
PS4 - Route: Munchen - Augsburg I have only suffered crashes when arriving Munchen Hbf, or around 3 miles before. This even does not happens allways But it is curious never happened when departing Munich, with some trains around. May be this is due to it is the start of the drive journey, so no much memory used yet, as when arriving there? I have clear this is a demanding route for a PS4, so it is only available with the default trains. But I have made also scenarios using lot of different trains, and no problem at all for the rest of the route. Of course I limit the number of trains at Munich to just one, apart from the one I am driving.

Hi, well I thought to myself "damn this game crashes quite often recently" and then I found this thread. Nice you are already aware, DTG! Plattform: PC/ Steam Route: Dresden-Chemnitz Tharandter Rampe Loco: DCZ 766 Cab Car Where: Approaching Dresden HBF, starting in Chemnitz (so crash right before the service would have been completed) Plattform: PC/ Steam Route: Rhein-Ruhr Osten Loco: Vossloh G6 Where: The scenario where you tow a freight train, after hauling the consist up/down a hill Edit: CTD, not so much of a freezing. I can see big sudden memory consumption (RAM/vRAM). My system has 24 GB RAM
For those with UE4 crashes, if you're on PC so you can get to the files, the actual log files it makes are the useful bit. For me they write into F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Train Sim World 2\WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Saved\Logs and F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Train Sim World 2\WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Saved\Crashes - your location would be a little different depending on where you installed the game.
For me, London Commuter (PS5 version) on PS5 crashes every time I try a scenario. Haven’t completed a single one. I also get crashes when running most services from Victoria or Brighton. I can’t give specifics as I’ve not been on the route for some time due to the constant crashing. I’ve also experienced crashes on Main Spessart Bahn. Have posted separate threads about this and also submitted each crash report via Sony.
Plattform: PC/ Steam Route: Rhein-Ruhr Osten Loco: Vossloh G6 Where: The scenario where you tow a freight train, after hauling the consist up/down a hill
Plataform: PS4 Standard Rote: Dresden Loco: All Where: On most routes, Riesa to Dresden, in the vicinity of Dresden Mitte and Hbf the game ALWAYS BREAKS, with blue screen, is inevitable, not to mention when you don't save, and when it crashes, you try to go back where you left off and don't manages to proceed by an immutable red light. Additional Flaws: >> AI trains stuck in the middle of the route, highlighting the junction that goes to Meissen and also further north when there is a junction that looks like a "u"; >> Service failure by advanced red lights by AI trains.
Platform: Xbox One S Route: Tharandter Rampe Loco: All Where: Dresden Altstädt and surrounding area When it occur: In service mode in afternoon game time when most trains are on the service. In Scenario planner this crash not happen. Additional information: It is impossible to complete services to Dresden Hbf in afternoon game time.
Platform: PC/Steam Route Hauptstrecke Hamburg Lübeck Loco: 766.2 Cab Car (HBL) Service: RE80 11459 07:41 Lübeck Hamburg Where: Leaving Reinfeld (Holst) after the stop
There seems to be something in the Dresden Mitte and Hbf region, maybe a series of elements that the console can't execute effectively, or maybe something specific causes the two DLC's that contain this region to break.
Platform: PS4 Slim Route: Tharandter Rampe Loco: 766.2 Dosto Cab Car Service: RB30 17320 Dresden Hbf - Zwickau (Sachs) Hbf Where: Approaching Edle Krone (about 1.5 km from stop marker, shortly before the 60 km/h restriction)

But on LC, it's always on a service from LV to Brighton, not the other way. SEHS is mainly from Faversham using the 395). RRO seems to be going from Wuppertal, but only during the first 1/3 of the service. Location of crash (please be as specific as possible). LC: Mainly between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport (occasionally leaving LV). SEHS: leaving Rainham. RRO: Between the 4th and 5th stations going from Wuppertal towards Hagen. (Sorry, the names of stations eludes me).

Sometimes the game do load in, but there are no sounds, and objectives do not show up soft-locking every single service
To complete this: Xbox Series X Game only starts when the console is offline. On online it crashes during the startup phase. Already reported to support, no solution found and they don't want to follow up.
Thanks for all the crash reports folks - i'll start collating and getting to the engineering team to review - you may get requests from people or myself asking for more information and your assistance is greatly appreciated. Could I ask for PC users to supply their crash dump folders please? Even if you haven't had a crash recently, in theory every crash you've had is recorded in that folder so we can look through there. Crash outputs are saved in your Documents folder - then find: My Games\TrainSimWorld2\Saved\Crashes If you can just zip up that entire folder of crashiness and email it to matt.peddlesden@dovetailgames.com that would be appreciated. For those on consoles, make sure you take up the opportunity to upload crash details to the platform if offered as we can review them online there - otherwise, we need some really clear repro steps to try and make it crash ourselves. Notes: List of all DLC that you have installed Ensure that you do the test from a FRESH start of the console clarification of if you're running online with internet access and whether you're logged into Dovetail Live or not If possible, try and repro the crash on a fresh profile to rule out any previous nastiness that might exist - or at least confirm if this makes it more or less prone to crashing. Try it multiple times - if you can go "do x, y, then z, and crash, every time, just done it 5 times in a row" then we can do exactly those steps and hopefully we see the same result. Be precise with your steps - "on game boot, spam the A button to get past annoying screens, use left joystick to find X route and press A to select, navigate to explore, then services, select Y loco and this weather setup, then..." etc. If it involves driving for a bit, note about things like using external cameras or just staying inside etc, any time you do anything you potentially deviate from the way another person plays so be complete and clear. Leave nothing to the imagination or assumption because that's where "unable to reproduce" lives. You'd be surprised about how subtle nuance in how we get into a game or the way we play it can result in it working 100% flawlessly for one person, and 100% failure for another. For others - if you see a crash report here particularly someone saying something never works for them - can I ask you to try it yourself? It would be great if we can get multiple people saying "yep i managed to make that crash 3 times too" or "well, it never crashed for me after a few times of trying". It will help rule out local issues or other issues unique to a player vs those every are experiencing (that's not to say we wouldn't still investigate - but would at least explain potentially why we're unable to repro a particular issue for example). The more assistance we can get on this the better, it will help us identify and resolve issues more efficiently and get fixes out to you. Thanks for your help! Matt.
Reading through the reports above in more detail I have some more feedback to help you get us reports we can react more quickly to: a) "Xbox" refers to a number of different consoles that are wildly different, even "Xbox One" can be a couple of different that *may* impact the ability to allow us to reproduce the crash. Please be 100% complete in specifying, e.g. Xbox One (Original), Xbox One S, Xbox One X, XBox Series S or Xbox Series X. Even if they *shouldnt* behave differently (eg. Xbox One vs One S) it's worth specifying because they are not identical machines and it may be some nuance. b) When specifying where it happens, this really needs to be in the context of what gameplay got you there - exactly what. e.g. the 10:34 blah to blah service running the blah loco, and if there's a TRN code like 1F34 that too - but the more info the better. In one report above it says something like Victoria to Reigate - there are a bunch of those, at different times and therefore with different AI around them. If it's "all the ones i've tried, therefore, ALL!" it would be helpful to state one or two specific cases. We have had instances where someone said it was every instance that failed and it transpired it was all but a couple - and frustratingly, it transpired we were trying the couple that worked and therefore couldn't repro the crash. Once we had more info we were able to repro it and then identify the cause. There has been some progress this last week in identifying a memory leak on the dosto's on the two Dresden routes relating to swapping inside/outside camera views. Fix is being tested for that one at the moment. I mention it as I saw a couple of notes about that seem to ring true for this particular issue, we'll let you know when that one makes it out into a build so you can confirm whether it's helped. Matt.
I also have had trouble with London Commuter lately, where the game crashes before loading the service. The behavior that I see is that the loading screen appears with a spinning circle in the bottom left. After some time, the loading screen freezes (the circle stops spinning). In task manager the game is marked 'not responding' and the memory usage goes up to the maximum, and after two minutes unreal crashes with some 120 seconds time out error if I recall correctly. What platform are you on: PC Route/loco: London Commuter, Class 377/4 SN Service/scenario: 2K12, default weather Location of the crash: Crash on loading screen With DLCs: ECW, GWE, SEHS I also tried service 2B23, which doesn't start at London Victoria and I was able to load that service. I recall only having crashes on London Commuter since I bought SEHS, so I tested the 2K12 service also with SEHS deinstalled again, and after that, I was able to load the service. I still had the freezing loading screen and the high memory use (~7 GB for the game). I got the impression that due to the absence of SEHS, the game was able to load just in time to prevent the time out.
I have had multiple crashes trying the same service tonight: PC DRA ICE 08:59 Frankfurt Flughafen to Dresden The crash is in the same place every time. I am under 500hz magnet approaching a red in Glaubitz. The red clears, I pass the signal and the game crashes. I also crashed on trying to load the DRA 101 service IC Koln to Dresden at 14:01. I was not swapping views, just staying in the cab. Crash report file email sent. Thanks for looking into this!
New forum user here, been enjoying the game so far for the last month however had the system crash right at the end of a long journey. Route: London Commuter Platform: PS5 Loco: Class 387 Gatwick Express Service number: 1w98 London Victoria to Brighton (loaded from journey mode chapter 2) Details: Right near the end of the journey, after leaving Hassocks and on the way to Brighton, about 2 miles from Brighton station started to slow down as a red light about 1 mile on the approach to Brighton. After a few seconds of braking the game crashed, selected the option to send crash report to Sony Not loaded from a save game. Other DLC installed: Haupstrecke Rhein-Ruhr, ECW, Peninsula Corridor, Isle Of Wight
Talking with one player who's using Series S and experienced a regular crash on the Brighton route coming into Victoria we have determined that it's always the *second* time that crashes, if the game is restarted after each run then it always seems to run cleanly. Can I get others experiences on whether it's second (or more) services/scenarios that are less stable or if you're consistetnly seeing anything breaking on *first* time runs? Issues on subsequent runs tends to suggest issues with the game not clearing up resources so that's already a good learning i've passed onto the engineering team but would like to get more data to keep investigating across other platforms as well, in addition to looking for "first run" crashes as those won't be the same. Thanks! Matt.
I noticed that when I am starting the game and doing a first run, the game runs fine and smooth and so on. But when I am doing subsequent runs, I feel that the game is running worse, I noticed this to happen especially on routes like Dresden-Riesa and Dresden-Chemnitz, where the first run almost gets no stuttering around Dresden while subsequent runs have a ton of stuttering. I am on PC/Steam.
This run: PC DRA ICE 08:59 Frankfurt Flughafen to Dresden reported above was a first time crash for me. And it still crashes every time at the Glaubitz platform. I usually pick June or September with just a little cloud. I do have mods and liveries installed, but taking them out didn’t seem to matter. I have PZB and LZB on and I am dealing with magnets at Glaubitz. There also seems to be a bit of a stutter - not noticed previously - just before the road crossing after the bridge out of Riesa. At Glaubitz, another stutter starts and then it crashes. Thanks for working on this issue.
If I try to create a scenario on 'Arosa Line' it crashes all the time. No matter what type of train you spawn into. The loading screen comes up and after some time it chrashes. I have tried it with various types of trains and at different stations. Platform: PC (Steam) Arosa Line/ every train Scenario Designer Every location and time
For me, the crashes on the approach to Victoria are random. Sometimes it happens on the first run, sometimes on the second, occasionally it doesn't crash at all. However I must add that after I uninstalled SEHS and with motion blur turned off (personal preference), this usually improves the crashes, I'm open for Matt to have a conversation re these issues and potential remedies. I'm also using Series S.
hello DTG Matt and Natalie i report a bug when they recently updated the route in Köln hbf they have it wrong platform display 6 and 7 because it has platform incorrect 4 and 5
TrainSim-Matt On Xbox Series X 1. Launch the game, skip the intro video 2. Select London Commuter > Class 377/4 SN > Select (probably) any service that starts from London Victoria 3. Wait for the game to properly load in 4. Exit back to the main menu 5. Select (probably) any service that starts from London Victoria 6. The game crashes back to the dashboard I tried with service 1A06, the game crashed 10 out of 10 times on the second loading. I cleared everything from Quick Resume, then tried the same with 1R14, the game crashed back to the dashboard 5 out of 5 times.
PlayStation 4 Sherman Hill / SD70ACE Scenario planner. Situation: I made a Scenario Planner with a train using SD70 ACE and boxcars. This Scenario worked "almost" perfectly! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: the problem was the train in front of mine, when arriving to Laramie, instead of going to its destination track, strangely stopped at the railway detour before it. So I could not finished the Scenario and stops on my own track, as had to stop at the previous red light. This is just a comment of a malfunction of the Scenario. But this is not the issue related to a crash. See it below.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But I remembered when selecting the freight cars for the SD70ACE, strangely double stack containers does not appear. Yesterday I wanted to drive this Scenario again, but use them, as it is one of the nicest trains to drive. So I try to use the "Out of the rail" feature to see if they appear. Yes, they appeared using that one.! But strangely they do not appear under the UPSD70ACE locomotive!. They appears at the top of the list as Double stack containers. I selected that and it only allows me to select 2 options. 40 containers both empty or loaded. Great! But when loading the scenario after some time, the blue screen error appeared. With a message like an error has occurred, please update the sim to the last version. Well yesterday before playing the last update was installed! Then I tried again and exact the same message. So I not even can start the Scenario!. Of course I went to train selection, and I changed the train to orther type of the available freight cars, I could start the Scenario. But I can not drive the desired double stack train! I have also notice neither the hoppers nor the oil freight cars, does not appear for the SD70ACE on Scenario Planner. So the only trains you can drive there are just boxcars, refrigerators or the autoracks. Why? Hopes both issues this can be fixed. Thanks
So, it turns out that the issue with this run was on my end. Matt and QA team were unable to reproduce the crash and recommended that I strip the game down of mods, liveries, and ini file changes. Once I did that, the run worked flawlessly. Slowly adding stuff back in, I was able to determine that the issue was with some Habbins liveries I had downloaded and installed.
Following on from JustWentSouth, it's worth adding another step for Crash reproduction specific to PC users. Revert all engine.ini changes Remove all custom mod pak files Back up and then remove custom liveries and scenarios you've made (Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld2\Saved) Then try to repro the crash just to rule anything untoward out. We can't repro it if it's not occurring on the shipping version of the game. Lastly - i'm not trying to say this means "you modded it yer on yer own" - but if we can at least narrow down exactly what causes the crash then that gives me something to go forwards to the engineering team with and at least brace the game so it won't crash in future. In the example of an old mod pak file causing the crash we won't be able to make it suddenly work - but we ought to be able to make it just ignore and drop that file and continue on without a crash. So I still want to know what causes it, and it will also give you some insight into some quick steps to get reliability as well in the mean time (if indeed this proves to be your problem, which it won't always be of course). Matt.
ive been experiencing crashing on London commuter when running services back to back on approach to London Victoria{ps4} last time i tried i was running 1R11 and 1R12 i think
