Alright, the deadline for submissions has come and gone, which means its time for me to decide the winners! In third place, we have Blazin, with their shot from Cajon Pass. In second, there's cscarpenter with a shot of a Class 56 and a Class 90. And finally, the winner for this week is joerg.kuenscher with a fantastic shot from Horseshoe curve! Side note: I really like the use of updated foliage around the route. Did you do that yourself or is there an updated HSC out there for download? Thanks to those of you that participated this week. Amazing entries from everybody as usual. I look forward to seeing what next week's theme will be!
Although not many screenshots were submitted, there were brilliant submissions this week, thank you for 3rd place and congratulations to cscarpenter for 2nd and joerg.kuenscher for 1st.
Wow, thank you so much for 1st place this week and of course congratulations to the others. Regarding your question Buynot . I change or add the vegetation myself. I do some of it with RW tools, and then it's a case of walking or driving along the route and doing it step by step. Most of the vegetation I take from Thomsen's Bernina Pass Route and a lot from Radiomaster, his vegetation is freeware.... It's a lot of work, but it's also a lot of fun for me. So, and now it continues, the theme this time is "By the water", have fun. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-contest-2022-week-14.53739/ One more question, how can I copy or paste the upper part, see screen, of the competition?
To make a poll like that what you have to do is go to the top of your thread and you should see a "Thread Tools" option, hover over it with your mouse and a dropdown menu will appear, now what you have to do is press the "Add Poll" button. Then you just write the question, write in the option boxes or add more option boxes if you want as well as selecting some extra options if you want to turn them on or off. Then just click on "Save Changes" and your poll will be created.
Just my 2 cents... I did like these threads, but at some point the forums stopped giving me notifications (despite maintaining a very short list) and it's a bit clumsy to subscribe to a new thread each week. Combined with the pins and it's a bit overwhelming, too. I never really figured whether adding a post or two to the official threads is worth the effort, namely, being enjoyed. On top of that, most of the forums is a hostile, stupid place, so I simply exist in the 2022 screenies thread, occasionally venturing out to see a few pretties and hand out a few likes. These thematic ones are nice but it's fine if you just join the megathreads, earn and give the likes, one big happy community. Also a bit down today so please subtract the depressive tone.
