this is a remastered suggestion of the semmeringbahn thread I did last year found here:
    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/tsw2-semmeringbahn.39383/

    HISTORY:

The Semmering railway in Austria, which starts at Gloggnitz and leads over the Semmering to Mürzzuschlag, was the first mountain railway in Europe built with a standard track. It is commonly referred to as the world's first true mountain railway, given the very difficult terrain and the considerable altitude difference that was mastered during its construction. It is still fully functional as a part of the Southern Railway which is operated by the Austrian Federal Railways

    THE STATIONS:

    Glognitz Bahnhof

Gloggnitz is a mountain town in the Neunkirchen district of Lower Austria, Austria. Gloggnitz is situated in the south-western part of the Vienna Basin in Lower Austria. It is surrounded by the highest mountains in Lower Austria, Mount Rax and Mount Schneeberg.

    Schlöglmühl Bahnhof

Schlöglmühl station is located on the Semmering Railway line, which was built as a section of Europe's first high-mountain railway along the Southern Railway. Two railway tracks can be safely reached here via an underpass, and covered waiting facilities have been installed on both platforms.

Additional comfort is provided by the 15 parking spaces for cars and mopeds and the 16 parking spaces for bicycles in the adjoining Park & Ride facility. Loudspeaker announcements and timetable notices inform train passengers about the current service, and a ticket vending machine has also been placed in the underpass for ticket purchases.

    Payerbach-Reichenau Bahnhof

The Payerbach-Reichenau station is the station of the municipalities of Payerbach and Reichenau an der Rax. It is part of the Semmering Railway and was opened in 1854. From 1926, the station was also the starting point for passenger trains of the narrow-gauge Höllentalbahn to Hirschwang an der Rax, which was already in operation in 1918, initially as a material railway of a paper mill. Payerbach-Reichenau station thus gained in

    Küb Bahnhof

(not much info found on this station)

    Eichenberg Bahnhof

Eichenberg station is the only station in the municipality of Neu-Eichenberg in the German state of Hesse. It is located in the hamlet of Eichenberg-Bahnhof, which lies east of and on the other side of federal highway B 27 to the historic village of Eichenberg.

    Klamm-Schottwien Bahnhof

The station Klamm-Schottwien on the Kobermannsberg is a stop on the Southern Railway - the historic Semmering Railway in the Viennese Alps. Particularly exciting: the cliff drops almost vertically down to Schottwien. In addition to regional trains to Payerbach-Reichenau and Semmering and Mürzzuschlag, express trains to Vienna and Mürzzuschlag also stop here.

    Breitenstien Bahnhof

Breitenstein station is a stop at the Semmeringbahn in the municipality of Breitenstein in Lower Austria.

    Wolfsbergkogel Bahnhof

Wolfsbergkogel is located at the railway kilometer 102.1 of the southern runway in Lower Austria

    Semmering Bahnhof

Semmering is a town in the district of Neunkirchen in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It is famous for its skiing, and has hosted the Alpine skiing World Cup several times. When the famous Semmering Railway was completed in 1854, it brought many tourists from Vienna

    Stienhaus Bahnhof

(I couldn't get much info on this one either, It just kept showing a restaurant in Germany)

    Spital am Semmering

Spital am Semmering, in the Semmering Pass, is a municipality in the district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag in Styria, Austria. It is home to the Stuhleck ski hill. Spital was largely endowed in 1160 by seven of the Margrave of Styria's ministeriales. The endowment included income from wide estates, vineyards and a town.

    Mürzzuschlag Bahnhof

Mürzzuschlag is a town in northeastern Styria, Austria, the capital of the former Mürzzuschlag District. It is located on the Mürz river near the Semmering Pass, the border with the state of Lower Austria, about 85 km southwest of Vienna. The population is 8,684.

    THE LOCOS:

The Siemens OBB 1016 and OBB Railjet are electric locomotives of the EuroSprinter family from the manufacturer Siemens Transportation Systems. The first Taurus for the OBB was officially presented at Krauss-Maffei in Munich-Allach on 12 July 1999.at the OBB, the locomotive has the protected name Taurus. They are used both in heavy freight and in long-distance transport. Altogether 50 pieces of the 1016 were produced.

Produced between 1976 and 1995 The ÖBB Class 1044 is a class of universal electric locomotives operated by ÖBB. The class is capable of hauling either heavy passenger traffic or goods trains on both lowland and mountainous routes.

The ÖBB 5047 was built in 1987 following an order for a series of diesel railcars that were based off DB’s BR 627 units. They would be designed to fulfil quieter duties on rural routes, being made of only a single vehicle and featuring an on-board ticket machine, allowing people to purchase tickets without the need for machines or additional staff at every station.

First designed in the 1990s, the Talent truly is the forefront of modern European transportation for both passengers and drivers alike. With such sparks as the ever-successful Talent 2 in its legacy, the Austrian Federal Railway can be proud of operating such a uniquely versatile locomotive

    TIMETABLE:

12 trains a day departing out of Semmering, that is 16 trains per hour. Multiplying that by a 24 hour period gets you 384 services. so a fairly busy route

    thanks for reading my suggestion

Excellent idea and you forgot that there are other Taurus locomotive versions running here. ÖBB 1116 Nightjet Graz Wien Berlin via Lundenburg (Breclav) Bohumin (Oderberg) Oppeln (Oppole) Breslau (Wroclaw) Berlin
ÖBB 1216 Railjet Graz Berlin via Wien Hbf Brünn (Brno) Prag (Prague) Aussig (Usti) Bodenbach (Decin) Schöna Dresden Elsterwerda Berlin.
it will actually change them to a degree like Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg Nightjet Railjet Eurocity Blauer Enzian freight Nahverkehr Dresden Railjet Großenhain Dresden Hbf Freight Riesa/Röderau Dresden ÖBB1216 Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen and Main Spessart Bahn Nightjet Freight ÖBB1116/1016. Duisburg-Bochum Railway via Essen HRR Eurocity Bodensee Freight Bochum Eherenfeld to Wien Kledering 1116/1016.
1016/1116 can be made by reskinning the Hamburg Lübeck 182 or Rapid Transit versions. Achievement counts towards 182 Hamburg or RT Versions since 1016/1116 are reskinned versions of them.

If this comes with the ÖBB1044 I'd buy it just for the loco. I love that loco.

If it comes with the fugly 1016, I'll pass.

Regarding that Austrian locomotive it's simply a reskinned DB BR182 so is the 1116. There is also a 1216 which is a Taurus locomotive that has DB BR189 Hollandstrecke Duisburg-Oberhausen-Arnhem Utrecht Quadvoltage system. Instead of a 1016 DTG should make a Vectron ÖBB 1293 with two versions 001-085 Italy Netherlands Belgium capable 173-200.

You mean ÖBB 1293. If Semmeringbahn gets extended north to Wien Hbf freight trains end at Verschiebebahnhof Wien Kledering. That one is home to ÖBB 1064. If Main Spessart Bahn Rhein-Ruhr Osten Ruhr-Sieg Nord Nahverkehr Dresden and Tharandter Rampe are owned G6 363 204 will work alongside 1064.

The Semmeringbahn is one of the most beautiful and famous railways in Austria. I'd love to finally have some austrian routes.

The standard european assets as well as Rivets alpine assets could be reused. The signalling is more or less identical to the PZB/LZB. The 182 can be reused or can easily be converted to the 1116. Layers would be possible with the 185.2 for freight operations and maybe the 101 or at least the IC-Coaches as some kind of AI/static stock.

Finally an alpine mainline route with tall mountains. This route would be great in TSW.

I'm sure it's completely impossible to remake the DTG, at best it's just fixes and added optimizations.

I think you forgot the Desiro ML ( BR.4746 / 4744 ) also known as cityjet.

They also operate at the s Bahn between Gloggnitz and Mürzzuschlag. And sometimes as a regional train.

It would ne really cool to have some Austrian Routes in TSW 2. :)

ÖBB uses the same PZB LZB as Deutsche Bahn. Which allows all German trains to simply run onto ÖBB infra Tracks. DB BR101 does run Intercity Cab car to Klagenfurt from München Hbf. Furthermore there are Nightjet sleeper trains on this route Graz Berlin Hbf via Wien Hbf & Breclav. Followed by Wien Hbf to Roma Termini & Milano and owners of this route Get to see them on München Augsburg and Schnellfahrstrecke Köln Aachen.

There is no cab ride video in OP, so adding one here:

As well as nicely captured shots along the route:

Nice suggestion, though you got the info on Eichenberg a bit wrong I think. The Eichenberg station shown and described is indeed that of the municipality of Neu-Eichenberg, but this is not the Eichenberg on the semmeringbahn. Instead the Eichenberg shown and described in this suggestion is nearly 600 km away from the correct one, in the middle of Hessen and Germany.

You mean the S-Bahn Steiermark S9 service. These S-Bahn Steiermark OBB Baureihe 4744/4746 will have Verbund Linie Steiermark decals on the side unlike the S-Bahn Wien Units which have VOR decals. Oddly 4744/4746 can layer to Riesa-Dresden like the 1216 which runs Railjet to Venice from Wien Hbf via Graz.
