Great route, for another dlc the 319 could work as the old thameslink rolling stock. But yeah great route - I'm actually going on this route in a few weeks so this is definitely a good route.

Could be, but it would need a) it's own timetable and b) the EMT license instead of EMR because EMT operated the high speed services when Thameslink had the 319s ;)

Two-in-one it is, the Midland Main Line and the Marston Vale Line, the two routes packaged together are around the same length as Cajon and SEHS, if you can't get a 220 or 221 first, why not get the 222 first :)

Fair enough, what about the 180 however? Doesn't that still run on EMR services out of Pancras?

They do but the 180s are the HSTs successor until the 810 Auroras arrive in a few years time then when the 810s come then it will be bye 180, bye 222 :(

Urgh Hitachi nonsense. But the HST still operates under Midland Railway instead of EMR right so its just the EMR hst's that got replaced. + lets be real - this is the only chance we will get a 180

Awesome route in principle but the one downside is the class 150 we have one of those in the Cornwall route but the physics and engine audio still need finishing off to accurate standards so I’d be concerned that this would be yet another sprinter flop

It is a different bodyshell and this would be a DTG-made route anyway, I'm not letting this be a Rivet-made route, sorry Rivet ;), so sounds will be fine :)

A true Midland Main Line would be Peaks screaming down to Bedford on 8 or 9 Mk2 aircons and Class 127's on the locals.

Marston Vale, which is more likely to be a standalone route than included with a larger product. Again, personally I would set back a few years when the brickworks were still open so you could have Class 25's working the trip freight and Class 105 (Cravens) DMU's running to the original Bedford St Johns station.

I knew you were going to say that ;), yeah I thought Marston Vale could be included with this to boost route mileage and to provide a different service style to your high speed or commuter stoppers you know ;), maybe a Diesel Legends timetable for your idea with the 25, 45, 105 and 127 as base trains and other locos like 40s and 47s substituted on :)

However a moderately modern option, with 317's/319's and HST's + 222's would also be good. And 150's or even 230's on the Vale Line.

Marston Vale would probably be made separately, an ideal route for Rivet given they already made the similar Class 484.

Instead of going further north to Kettering and Corby from Bedford, I would rather see the Thameslink core extended down to Blackfriars, which could include an element of Automatic Train Operation (optional from a gameplay perspective) to add something a bit different :)

Very good suggestion and to be honest any era would do the job as you have Peaks in the 70s and 80s, HSTs with the beefy paxman valenta and vp185 engines from the 80s through till only a couple of year ago and now you've got the 180s. I have to say I would prefer it when peaks were still bombing up and down the MML with the 127s on locals. This would mean DTG would only need to make one new unit to make this work. ;)

You can do that, as I've said with Vern's request above of the same trains, I would love a Diesel Legends of the Midland Main Line ;)

The GWE Diesel Legends I can't stand so I was more thinking the actual route to be built how it was in the when the peaks and 127s were about (70s/early 80s) and forget about the modern stock as we already have a 45 in game so DTG will only need to make one new unit and not bother about 3 new units. I would really like to see more BR blue routes as they are such an important part of the railway history in Britain.

So you're suggesting late 70s/early 80s MML, it would be a change from all the modern day routes we've had ;)

Exactly, yes and it would fit in with DTGs only one new train a route policy as the 45s (from NTP) could handle the express passenger and then a class 127 could be built for the locals.
