Alternatively it could just have the one train included. That also gives a repeated letter. What this route could be may depend on whether it is the UK route for the summer update or a route to be released before then. The former would indicate a bigger route and the latter a smaller route. There is already a UK route by DTG before it (the steam one) so is there time for two UK routes before the big one or is this it? It’s also odd that there are two UK routes on the roadmap without a US or German route there. Depending on which way the wind is blowing it could be a very big route indeed, or something quite small.
No, 2 codes are given for traction type, if no other type is used, the first letter is repeated. Just means this AC electric traction. From the "cracking the code" thread - "BB are the traction types employed. Frequently there will only be one traction type in use, in which case we repeat the letter, however this allows for multiple traction variants:" Same with electrified routes, like BML, pretty sure the 66 wasn't referenced in that route's code, nor the railtours in CCL
I have a strong feeling that this is gonna be the big DLC, as germany got its big modern “DLC” with KWG, the US got the NEC bundle, and the UK hasn’t gotten any big dtg route yet, so this might be it OR the peak forest is the big release
correct but the profile-wise AC TGV pantograph is 1.45m DC pantograph is 1.95m in width. It's on the roof top of the TGV in the game. When TGV duplex runs to Germany in its Euroduplex 15kv 16.7hz version the DC 1.95m pantograph is used to feed 15kv supply to the train
Hopefully the 91 and or the 90, fingers crossed. I want that blunt cab & DVT action! Love those 'modern' 80s designs.
I’m my opinion this route will include the 700/0. It would be like they did with the Acela. With the HST layering in. With possible 700/1 been also added as the new loco
Though I want to think yeah, that makes sense, and agree, unfortunately I raise you... 2.DBK-R7 01 - Schnellfahrstrecke Köln – Aachen (from the cracking the code thread). ...Just to add to the complexity. As far as I remember SKA itself does not employ multiple electric traction types within the route itself(?), so the only thing the K can refer to is the ICE 3M being able to use various AC and DC voltage types across Belgium and France which are not actually modelled in the game. By this logic the 387 should be a K on BML. However, I can accept the difference between SKA and BML on the basis that the ICE 3M services in the game are all running a small part of a larger route which would always use dual mode electric traction (even if it does happen off-map), whereas the 387 on BML is running the full self-contained Gatwick Express services which never use dual mode, so that could explain the inconsistency. Or of course it could just be an oversight. It's not that big a deal, but if there is something to it, then the implication would be that if it were an MML or ECML route featuring Thameslink services, it'd have to include a K for the dual mode trains continuing off map onto the DC part of the Thameslink route. All pure speculation and naval gazing, but I'd be disappointed if we got a new AC route and the loco included was a 387 (I am not wholly against electrostars but at this point I think the only interesting ones left to put in the game are the 359s that run for C2C as they at least have the front end with a full windscreen). As ever, time will tell, BCC didn't really hit the spot for me so whilst I was wrong about two Bs meaning two locos, I certainly hope this route has more than one loco whatever it is.
If Birmingham won't be empty forever, how about the Chase Line: Birmingham to Rugeley (via Walsall)? The line from Birmingham to Walsall (sometimes referred to as the Walsall Line) has two alternative routes, both electrified at 25 kV AC overhead. One leaves New Street to the east, following the Cross-City Line as far as Aston (which we already have in Cross-City), where it diverges to the west. The other leaves to the west, and travels via Soho (the train depot was partially developed and is currently off-map in Cross-City). Beyond Walsall, the line was electrified in 2019, and continues north to Hednesford and Rugeley. Although it wouldn't add novelty (since we have the Cross-City Line), route and loco assets from Cross-City could be re-used to shorten associated development time and costs. If built, it could also allow for the completion of the Soho train depot (off-map in Cross-City) as a route update.
There could also just be one train, which would be AC Electric. The B in the code would duplicate if it's only one. If it only uses its AC side I believe it would be code B, similar to the 387 bring code C on BML. The 314 and 385 should be mutually exclusive in regular service. They hardly ran alongside each other irl, at all.
Yes please, another day 1 purchase for me. Nice to see DTG showing some love to it's native inhabitants!
It's automated isn't it? Only one train too, a lot of it underground as well. Nice though - I use it a lot.
Yes living in London I got so used to seeing 321's on every railfanning trip that way to Liverpool St, Bethnal Green and Stratford. Was at the latter this week and really missed them, feels like I've lost an old friend. Looked good in that white scheme. What and where is the April 29th event?
Here's the link re the farewell tour. https://railplus.greateranglia.co.uk/class-321-farewell-charity-train-event.html
Welcome. I might try myself, sad to see them go. On a different note, as someone mentioned the Class 357, I would love to see the LTS/c2c line appear. Nice self contained route. Good mix of express, commuter, branch lines and freight. Scenery combination of city, town, countryside and Sea. Double track, single track. Always seems the forgotten line sadly and a shame it has never been done. I remain ever hopeful.
the 700 and 387 can layer onto this ECML south if it comes out tbf, the only two trains missing are the 717 and the 80x/91, unless the moorgate branch gets added. it’s literally AC electric throughout as the 801 is purely EMU
that is true, but because dtg and WMR have a good pairing, there’s a likelihood it could be given to dtg again
That's because WMR's branding is owned by Transport for West Midlands; hence it's appearance only in the Midlands area of the WMT network, and it's similarity to other modes like WM Buses, WM Metro, etc. Meanwhile, LNR, whilst also being operated by West Midlands Trains (not Railway, big difference here) - the same company that operate WMR, the LNR brand is also owned by WMT - who are owned by Transport UK Group. So, TL;DR is; WMR - Operated by WMT, Brand Owned by TfWM LNR - Operated by WMT, Brand Owned by WMT.
Alan Thomson Sim would surely make sense for ECML?! After all, their source material is going to be second to none for this route and they’ve done an excellent job on TS Classic..
Personally, I’m hoping for a TPE route featuring a class 802. Simply for that gorgeous livery As for ECML, I’d much rather see that set in the days of the original LNER with the magnificent Gresley A4s or the BR Blue era with the noisy thrash of a Deltic or a valenta HST. Still, I wouldn’t turn down a class 91 “Intercity 225” set either! For me, the Azuma would be a disappointing choice when you think about the other options available for an ECML route. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike them but I just prefer the stuff that came before it.
I really hope its a route that has frequent stops. I don't want it to be another Kassel where it's just push the accelerator and then do nothing for X number of miles until you stop and that's the route. No train would make that even remotely interesting. The only route that would, would be the West Highland Line.
WHL would hardly fit that description either, as you have to properly tackle gradients and adjust for varying speed limits.
Dovetail are really spoiling the modern UK fans this year… As usual, my hope is just for something that doesn’t revolve around London.
they’re not spoiling uk fans… we haven’t had a route from dtg since birmingham cross city and there’s been a huge us bundle and german routes from dtg since then. the reason the uk is getting a fair amount of content is due to there being more 3rd parties from the uk
To the player a route release is a route release. No matter who makes it. BBC,Edinburg/Glasgow,MML, 4 loco DLC that came with new timetables ( I’m including the 700), MML, peak forest, new Announced UK,
yeah but you said dtg are spoiling uk people. they’re not, it’s just because more third parties are onboard from the uk than any other country
