In regards to what's to unfortunately broken for you, Jane did say that certain updated game files which they sent to the publishers (dtg) didn't go through for some people for some reason and that they should be coming through for everyone very soon, with any luck that will fix the issues your still encountering.

    I would clarify this.
People are not entitled to ANYTHING from people they don't know
People who have proven themselves as polite will get politeness back
In no way is my default position to be nice (or even polite) to people once they have shown themselves not to be polite
Jane, in this instance, has been consistent in their approach to this matter so "deserves" the respect they're getting
Other people (I can think of a few in my personal life) do not deserve that treatment, so I wouldn't agree that "people are entitled to politeness"

When you are addressing Skyhook as a company and being rude and beligerant you are addressing Jane, and all those other members of the workforce.

Considering the level of contact Jane has had with the "community" over the last few weeks, something we haven't seen before, it isn't fair to be speaking to her or Skyhook in such a way. Otherwise she might think twice about it in the future.

Matt himself has commented that some DTG staff find it difficult to read the forums, as he himself has said also.

Isolate switches for DSD and DRA on HST seem to be backwards. Not sure if DSD is working at all actually.

I wasn't (edit for clarity: even) talking about myself, I was justifying my abruptness when talking about the route and my first impressions of it. Feel free to talk to me however you want, and if I don't like it, I'll just tell you :)
No I'm not. I specifically explained exactly that.

Anyway, this is getting off topic. Seems like every time I come to this thread, I manage to stick my foot in my mouth and end up in some unfortunate argument.

So, back to discussing the route: does anybody know which settings do I need to tweak to get rid of this trackwork clipping? It's because the ties are set just a bit too low in the ballast, and on MML, it's one of the worst cases I've seen so far. I find it to be quite distracting when driving. View distance is at Ultra (or whatever the maximum setting is called) already.

Yes, there’s been a few posts on this. Jane has said she’s noted it and will be getting it looked at. ;)

DSD works if you set the switch to off (isolate). You won't be able to acknowledge it with a controller though!

If you are on PC like me then you will probably find that most things are still broken other than the inclusion of new services.

It seems there are so many inconsistencies with parts that most of these issues are either messed up in the missing files sent out as Patch 1 or may have not been addressed as they are deemed minor enough to not break the whole gameplay and as such will be released as Patch 2.

The patch was sent for release to (I assume DTG) for distribution, and then it was sent to the various venders for download. It looks like the files have been corrupted in this process. This type of thing happens, especially as this was very much rushed and there were a lot on here pushing for it to be released as soon as possible. I doubt SHG or DTG had enough time to troubleshoot every item on every version on every console/pc/Steam edition over multiple times to provide consistency and to capture every discrepancy and issue that was requested as ‘urgent’. Sometimes things just don’t work as expected and ‘crash’ and sometimes troubleshooting these areas no problem can be replicated.

I know there are frustrations but Jane has been exemplary with communication, and is pushing the team to resolve as many issues as possible in a timeframe. The proof is in the pudding and what has been delivered so far is very tasty. Please let’s let Skyhook at least have the opportunity to acknowledge and provide a response before we rubbish their route and their team who quite clearly have put in a huge effort for get the extras into the route in a short space of time.

Well done Jane and all of the team at Skyhook who have put in a shift to elevate the MML to what we have so far and for continuing to making it even better!

    *edit for autocorrect!

Is the Freight train seasonal? As for the lamps, that's been an issue for years on a few routes and can be annoying.

The Freight train was a cement empties so I don't think it would be seasonal. However it was the same train And service as the one I first referred to only difference was my entry to scenario was on foot rather than Via Class66

If it’s a cement train do you not need Tees Valley Line and the Class 31 to see the layers?

Thanks for that Jane. Also Can you guys at SHG do something about the inability to manually place missing tail lamps Or is that a DTG thing? As an ex Freight Guard I find it really jarring to see trains running in the sim with no tail lamps!

    A doubt...

What routes and trains do I need to run all layers in MML?

    hey Gang,

Just got back to my desk after a busy day.

In relation to bugs, I will re-iterate, for those who haven't seen earlier posts. We simply did not have the time and resources to fix everything. So I made a decision with the Producer of the project to start at the highest priority and work down. So for those asking why didn't they fix this or that. The honest answer is that there was no time to do so for us to hand over a patch by the end of the month. There was no time to add anything else. Everyone was working flat out with the priority list. It involved the entire team working full time on this. So the patch you guys got was the entire team effort since release. Many of these issues take a LONG time to fix and test.

So again I want to be clear we didn't fix everything. You will find things we just did not have the time or people to address for patch 1. We could not magically fix everything. The entire team were full time on patch 1 without a break since release.

There were also some file issues with the patch that were beyond our control (our being Skyhook and DTG). Those are about to be addressed to you all shortly.

The good news is that we are not stopping. People are fixing things as I chat with you all.

Hi Paul From what I can see, you need the following: Class66 EWS, LMS Jubilee Black festive from West Cornwall Local,
Class37/7 EXP From South Eastern High Speed And Class 41/1 From Northern trans Pennine. I have all the uk stuff installed except for the Isle of Wight content and these are the additional assets that appear for me. Hope this helps.

Hi Jane, I've just had the TPWS trigger me again at Mountsorrel sidings (10 mile south of East Midlands Parkway) on my way to Nottingham this time though on 1D17. I were travelling at 107mph with linespeed being 110 and next speed change being up to 120 in a couple of miles. Again this was on my xbox series s. If you want anymore info be sure to let me know!

Hey Jane, update #1 has been fantastic and I’ve really been enjoying the route!

I just wanted to say, just incase it flew under the radar, that the Class 158 destination screen still does not display off-world destinations. For example, a train to ‘Matlock’ will only display ‘Derby’.

Another thing to note, the text size on the Class 158 destination screen is incredibly small, and it is very difficult to see what it is displaying.

I hope these bugs are able to be fixed in the next set of updates. Thanks :D

Apologies, It actually isn't my job to manage forum posts, so I am doing this around my actual job to help everyone. So I had not seen your post.

The team tell me that there are 11 services that stop at Spondon.

    2K45 2K65 2K69 2K75 2K06 2K17 2A14 2A17 2A19 2A53 2A63

I currently dont have the info myself yet on any future timetabling destinations.

    all the best

Stewart, I think the sounds are fabulous across the board. Skyhook people and DTG people are responsible, working together as a joint sound team. I think they did a phenomenal job.

Just to answer your question on tail lights, (and remembering your career! ) we will get them sorted. Manual placement is a core TSW thing I believe.

The rain on the windows moving in the wrong direction has already been noted for the HST. I'd like to add that it happens on the 158 as well and to elaborate a bit. Hopefully, this will be helpful in pinpointing the issue. This applies to the two driver side windows (front left and left). For the right front and right windows, everything is mirrored.

When stationary, the drops move down the window normally. When the train starts moving, the drops start moving to the left, as they should. However, as the train gains speed, they start veering to the right. The drops seem to originate moving to the left, but then quickly change direction. As the train passes about 25-30 mph, that change gets quick enough that it becomes instantaneous, and it begins to look like the drops always move to the right. This has the effect of the drops on the side windows moving towards the front of the train, as pictured on the HST in a previous post. As speed increases, the movement becomes more stark, creating almost continuous lines on the windows. Then, when the train begins to stop, the above happens in reverse. Interestingly, when the train stops (or gets really slow), there's a weird momentary sequence of these long horizontal lines of drops (pictured) moving directly down or to the left, as though a variable gets rolled over.
    20230609184710_1-c.jpg
All of this was done with wind strength set to 0, just in case.

A Route was released which was half-finished, but playable. This has happened before, with London Commuter, Sherman Hill, Bakerloo, Bremen-Oldenburg, Arosalinie, and others. Most glaring issues have been fixed given time, and customer feedback has at least been noted. Some things seem like they will never be fixed, like weird passenger behavior or your partner in the cab changing to a different person or spreading their arms to make an ascension through the cab roof. The Red Light issues and running straight into the back of another train on Harlem line have been fixed as far as I know. So I would say keep giving feedback on substantive issues, giving details on the service or event, platform you're on and what happened. This is clearly the wish of the developers, whether 3rd-party or DTG themselves. I don't think it's a perfect system, but at least we are given the opportunity as customers to report issues.

    Thanks for that Info Jane.
I think all that is needed is for each piece of rolling stack that has a tail lamp bracket to be modified in a way that allows an actual lamp can be placed on it. Hopefully someone at DTG will spot this and address the issue.

Sorry to quote myself here but I have just completed that service and I am so glad I got tripped. That's strange, I know, but it meant that, because of the minor delay, at East Midlands Parkway I was routed behind a 158 to Nottingham and so this happened and actually put a massive smile on my face:

Hi, Jane-Skyhook. Congrats and thanks for all you and the team have done so far. Evidentially you are saving the best to the last. I look forward to the restitution of all the missing sheep and cows along the route and then paradise will truly be achieved.

I don't think I've seen this mentioned: on the HST, when the "Parking Brake" keybind (\) is pressed, the parking brake comes on, but the "Parking Brake On" button movement isn't animated. The control change notification simply says "Parking Brake," instead of "Parking Brake On Pressed." When the "Release Parking Brake" keybind (Shift+\) is pressed, nothing happens at all. The parking brake doesn't release and the control change notification doesn't appear.

This, I think, I have seen mentioned, but just in case: the DRA Isolation switch on the HST is working opposite to how it should. The system is isolated in the "Normal" position and working in the "Isolated" position.

It was the 1B16 Nottingham - London St Pancras.

I played through Journey mode if that's relevant

Edit update. Just played that service again and crashed 5 miles outside of Leicester

Premium Price!?!?!?. This ain't an $80.00 game. And when one plane DLC on MSFS costs $89.00 TSW is a budget simulator.

Oh and that plane I bought the Bae 146 has plenty of bugs in it too sir.

Jane, I am sorry to bring you yet another issue but I've just done another service to Nottingham and the Mountsorrel TPWS grid has tripped me again. It was 1D26 and I were doing 108 mph, the speed limit being 110 and increasing to 120 further down the line. Thanks, and again if you need any more info just let me know.

Just adding my thanks to Skyhook and my hope that Jane and co. get plenty of extra sales from their hard work. When the route first released, I reluctantly decided not to buy it, and this thread changed my mind. I picked it up yesterday (with a discount using Steam's "complete my collection" feature) and I'm very much enjoying the route and both trains. The 158 in particular is a gem and it's great to have a new HST in the game, along with the layer at St Pancras in SEHS. Both have very decent sounds as well.
I haven't run into any real problems, nothing that hasn't been noted already. Well there's a pylon floating slightly off the ground next to the river bank near the power station - can drop in a screen shot if helpful, I'm on PC/Steam - but that's about it. I haven't run into any rogue TPWS applications yet, but I've only driven 4 or 5 services so far.
In terms of future wishes for the route, a 222 and 156 would be great as loco packs. If there's any feasible way the route could be extended in the way that Just Trains did with their Train Sim Classic version (one of the best routes in either TSC or TSW), out to Sheffield would be great, as this would bring Class 170 and Voyager DLC into play. Otherwise there's Hope Valley, Lincoln, Worksop, Bedford and St Pancakes and more, all of which have their plus points. Regardless of whether the routes can be joined up, or we just end up with a separate Sheffield-Derby or whatever, it would be great to see the MML built out, with some complementary loco DLC that can layer up in the way that the best German routes manage.
