I installed all my DLC's for TSW 4 and now the game keeps crashing on the main loading screen This issue also happened with TSW 3 so im guessing this has nit been fixed ?
Same here on Series X, the issue was raised in the "Loading Screen taking too long" thread too. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved soon.
Since all the DLC went live I’ve been having regular hard crashes to the dashboard on Series X. Was fine in early access.
Yep, same here keeps crashing. On Xbox series X. I’m now in the process of saving TSW3 and TSW4 as separate entities. Hoping that will work for me.
That worked for me kept my TSW3 content separate from TSW4 and no problems loading TSW4 although I did install Midland Main Line to TSW4 so I get the extra layers on Peterborough to Doncaster
Hello everyone, we're aware of this, and as an update, we're investigating the Xbox crashing errors as our highest priority. Our current suspicion is it has something to do with the amount of Add-ons installed leading to a crash, so you may find a temporary workaround by only installing a limited selection of content you wish to use until we can resolve this. Thank you for your continued patience, we're working hard on getting this fixed.
The same thing happens to me, I enter the game, the loading screen appears and it closes and to top it off, Oktenville does not appear and Rapit Transit appears, which did not have it.
I haven't tried. I know that I have 54 and it still randomly crashes. Especially when trying to play ECML
I have all DLC except the New Journey Class 423 installed and no crashing. It was crashing on the loading screen at first but I did a hard reboot and that went away. Series X
I am on Xbox One S and couldn’t play TSW3 with all content installed and now find the same situation with TSW4. Good to hear DTG Alex say there is an update, but bakedpotatos.jm please would you explain how to do a hard reboot and do you have problems with other games content if you do that. DTG told me to press and hold the icon until it closes down then unplug the power cable but that didn’t work on TSW3 or TSW4, so I would be interested to learn what you did to get it working please.
Hello everyone, Alex has just posted an announcement regarding this issue, you can read it here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/xbox-crashes-weekend-update.74409/ Again, thank you very much for your continued patience and support. All the best, Jan
DTG Jan. That’s good news. It is disappointing and annoying that the loyal supporters who have most or all the content are effected by not being able to play the game. I could not play TSW3 unless I played with 25% of my content so hope you find a solution soon
Believe me, we are just as disappointed, it is certainly not how we imagined launch to go, nor how we wanted.
My favourite bit from the announcement has to be "we've managed to make some progress by convincing our development kits to behave like a public system", call me naive but I always assumed that QA and Beta testers' machines were already configured as retail units.
My only question is.... Where are the betatesters?! This is something that should be noticed in the beta version right?! Or is DTG not smart enough and do a test? This is a serious thing and not a small bug!
I just hope Jan, that everyone at DTG take stock of what’s happened and put it all right for the better. I hope DTG will seriously consider to settle on making this version as good as it could be and not issue a TSW5. Supporters don’t want to have to download every owned add-on every year to a new game, get the bugs sorted and leave the game as it is now. DTG can still earn enough money from releasing quality bundles every year.
That is exactly what I did, I hope they get it fixed soon for you guys. Also I don't know if it makes a difference but I don't have anything other than TSW4 and the DLC installed on my system so I still have about 60% free still on my system.
Same argument 2 years running. Here's hoping this time around DTG actually listens to their paying customers. Their community sadly lives on hopes and dreams at the moment.
Yep this is ridiculous statement: take custom xbox install tsw4 and fill with all addons possible = crash! What an operation... At least they admit they f@#$& up, QA unit needs some reassessment
I tried something and it seemed to help (your mileage may vary).Try playing OFFLINE. I found my game loaded faster and it didn't crash. It was taking over 3 to 5 minutes to load while online and it some times work sometimes crashed.(It's like gambling in Vegas and figuring your just gonna lose ever time).
It's not just crashing on the start-up screen - once you do get the game running it's also crashing back to the XBOX dashboard when I try to jump into a route. It's incredibly frustrating - I'm on the verge of abandoning TSW4 and going back to TSW3 given the minimal difference between the two; I'll return and play the new routes when TSW4 is fit for purpose.
I can't even load the game after multiple attempts this morning, despite uninstalling almost a third of my DLC.
Hello everyone, can we ask anyone who is experiencing crashes on Xbox when starting up to put their console into Offline mode (This can be done via Network Settings). We believe this may be a temporary workaround, but we could use more player reports.
DTG Alex, thank you, I can report that although it took about five minutes to open, the games does finally open in offline mode. I have been driving the Flying Scotsman on ECML for the past ten minutes without a problem.
Yes, offline helps. Do it since day one. I think the Problem could be the creators Club. On the other side I know a few Games that Work better in offline Mode. For example Farming Simulator, Starfield, Cyberpunk. There maybe more that Profit.
Doesn't work - I just get an error when I try to start the game: "For this game, you need to be online"
After experiencing several crashes on Series X as well - beginning from crashing after finishing a service and ending with not loading the game also - I found another workaround I wanted to share: Deleting the game data from the xbox storage (accessible via 'manage game' from the xbox' Main menu, a bit hard to describe as it's running in german on my system) - important: I mean neither the listed save game files nor an uninstall of any content. Will try to share a video later. After that, TSW4 started again in online mode and I've been able to complete several services with an alltogether of 53 installed DLC/ game components.
This is no good for those of us that console share, as I do with my live-in partner, if my console is offline, then it thinks I don't own the license to play anything that is installed digitally. Instead, I've been using the workaround as suggested by another user, whereby you close down the game several times over each time the pinwheel begins to stutter (after the muaic has begun playing), and after the third or fourth attempt, with any luck, it will eventually load and remain playable. This is preferable to uninstalling over 80 DLCs, but still far from ideal.
Hello there, for this to work your Xbox has to be set to your home Xbox. To change your Home Xbox, go to Settings > General settings > Personalization > My home Xbox. All the best, Jan
Thanks, Jan. Changing the Home XBOX setting affects sharing with family members etc.and can only be done a limited number of times a year. It'd break my son's access to our shared games so isn't an acceptable workaround for me and presumably others. I'll just have to wait until you guys fix this....!
hi, after few months someone opened up this topic, I'm experiencing this issue in pc platform. is there any solution for it?
Hello there, could you please give us a few more details as PC specifications and a description of what is happening? This thread is about Xbox crashes not PC, but I will still try to help you. Please make sure to follow our troubleshooting guide you can find here as well: https://dovetailgames.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/80000896131 All the best, Jan
