    Hello everyone,

We are continuing to investigate an issue with Xbox systems crashing to the menu upon startup. As it stands, we haven't reached a solution yet but we're making progress and we will provide an update as soon as we are able to.

In the last few hours, working with support across multiple teams, we've managed to make some progress by convincing our development kits to behave like a public system - and we have finally been able to reproduce the crash. This enables us to debug it and find a solution, and since then we've been able to make a good deal of progress throughout today. There is work to do, but this is a big step forward.

The problem affects all Xbox systems and is related to the amount of content you have installed and the way in which different add-ons interact with each other (layers, substitutions etc). Because of this, you may find that only having a limited selection of content installed will hopefully relieve the crashing until we can resolve this.

We hope to have a positive update for you very soon, and we appreciate that this is highly frustrating for all of you who want to celebrate the launch and get right into all your compatible content in Train Sim World 4. The team will continue their work into the weekend, and we'll push a fix live as soon as we can (this is why we held back the Creators Club improvement other platforms had earlier this week).

In addition, we will be taking forward these learnings into our QA testing process so that we can identify these issues sooner and help avoid this from happening in the future.

Thank you all for your continued support and patience as we've worked through this.

    Update: 12:30 - 30/09/23

    Hello everyone,

Our teams are still working hard to resolve Xbox systems crashing to the menu upon startup, however, from both player and beta team reports, we believe that putting your Xbox console into Offline mode (via Network Settings) will offer as a temporary workaround and all you will be able to access Train Sim World 4 without experiencing crashes during startup.
Please note, some users have reported it can take a short while to launch (up to 5 minutes) if you have a large amount of add-ons installed.

Whilst this workaround should let you access the game without crashing, due to being offline you will not be able to use services that require an internet connection (such as Dovetail Live and Creation Center / Online Sharing Hub).

We will continue to keep you all updated, and we hope that for those affected who want to play Train Sim World 4 this weekend on Xbox, this may offer a solution for the time being. Thank you for your continued patience.

Our apologies for the ongoing inconvenience caused.

This behaviour we believe is unique to the retail environment and reflective of the amount of content the Train Sim World title now supports We are continuing to work with Microsoft to resolve and expect to have an initial update early next week. Whilst this won’t resolve all cases, it should improve the situation for many and we feel best to release that improvement to yourselves whilst we conclude a full solution.

    Update: 14:00 - 09/10/23

    Hello everyone,

We've just pushed an update to Xbox platforms that should resolve systems crashing to the menu upon startup.

Our playtesters have confirmed that whilst this issue should be fixed for many, it may not be completely resolved for everyone. We are continuing to work on a full solution, but for now, we wish to help alleviate the crashes for as many players as we can.

We ask that anyone still affected please follow our initial workaround outlined in the 30/09/23 Update above.

EDIT: For anyone installing a large amount of TSW4 content to test, we're seeing some reports it may crash on the first attempt regardless, please do try again as users have mentioned after loading it up for a second time that it works fine.

Thank you for your patience throughout this process.
