The game crashes at the loading screen, after about 1-2 minutes of loading. After restarting the game, the next load attempt is successful. In short, at least one crash every start at loading screen. I am on the Series X.
It is also crashing after completing a run, and then attempting to go back to main menu. No error messages, just back to Xbox dash board. I have the deluxe version and there was no crashes since last week when it came out in early access. Now I am crashing at loading screen, and going back to main menu after completing a run. Very annoying
Same for me. I have about 50 DLC on series x and after about 3 minutes trying to load up the game, it crashes to dashboard. It's a shame the xbox optimization (like Playstation got) has seemingly dissapeared from being completed.
Hello everyone, can we ask anyone who is experiencing crashes on Xbox when starting up to put their console into Offline mode (This can be done via Network Settings). We believe this may be a temporary workaround, but we could use more player reports.
Except the temporary workaround doesn't work, for me at least.... I just get an error message - "For this game, you need to be online".
DTG Alex, here is another workaround to get the game loaded, without the need to go offline. Start the game, and wait for about 30 seconds or so until the music starts to play. At this point the spinning wheel of doom will be stuttering a lot. Quit the game at this point and restart, and keep an eye on the spinning wheel, and repeat the process described above. At most I need to do this 3 times, but then the game loads with all of my DLC's loaded. (75)
ive uninstalled most of my dlc and the game still crashes on start up multiple times, on a series x but im glad the issue is being worked on
I have 42 DLC and never crashed yet on my xbox series X, im just lucky? Does it crash only if certain DLCs are installed?
I think, the Cc is the point. I have nothing from the Cc and no problems with over 50 addons installed. But works better when I'm offline. During tsw3 I had some liveries and scenarios from the Cc and made problems. Since this time I don' t use it no more. Now with the free roam mode for me theres is no need to make my own scenarios or download them. Cheers
Hey folks - just FYI - the latest is here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/xbox-crashes-weekend-update.74409/#post-728277 The team are still working on a solution (from what I can gather it's a bit of a doozy), but please use the workaround suggested in the meantime. Thank you.
This is not an acceptable solution. The game is simply not playable and it is once again because it was not tested properly and thus released incorrectly. Once again, the players who paid money for it suffer. And such problems are repeated over and over again.
I have no liveries but I’m still experiencing crashes on Series X both at start-up and in-game despite uninstalling all my non-UK DLC. So liveries aren’t to blame…. I can’t use the offline workaround either as it would lock my son out of his games. So please make haste and fix it!!
It was mentioned in the roadmap stream that the earliest we might see a fix would be early next week, so not forgotten, just stuck with an unplayable, expensive, SSD hogging game for over 2 weeks...
I'm still limping along with just UK DLC installed and still experiencing crashes at both start-up and in-game BUT not every time. If you're desperate then just try booting it up a few times and fingers crossed you get lucky.... Honestly, though, this really isn't something that we should be concerning ourselves with, having just shelled out hard-earned cash for a new game. It's pretty poor that we're still waiting for a fix.
I'm getting crashes quite often after finishing a service, in fact the very same problem you described. Really is frustrating, I'm just hoping fixing it breaks nothing else.
The update that released yesterday is crashing the Xbox PC store version. Redownloading throws up a corrupt download. Tried times to rectify.
The update that went out today did not fix the crashing. Had to go offline again to be able to play. This is on a Xbox series X
How many dlc u got i got 72 and it took 5 minutes to load but it loaded 1st time on series x after update with being online aswell before this it was watching wheel at the bottom when loading if it stopped stop go again takes about 3 trys and u get on
So after the update was announced I set everything to reinstall that I'd previously uninstalled (only had UK mainland routes) and the game loaded. Signed into DTL and restarted the game and it's consistently crashed back to dashboard. I'm really glad I wasted 40 odd quid on a game that's almost impossible to play!
The solution we shared should be working for a large amount of affected Xbox players, however, we know that it isn't entirely resolved as of yet and we're still working on it and will keep you updated. The update we did today was a big step and hopefully we'll be close to a full resolution very soon.
I've found loading the game from a console restart works for me (this is with all 89 DLCs installed), if I play anything else beforehand, or use any streaming apps, then it's the usual repeated crashes.
This is something I picked up on when trying this myself - which was reported back, - usually the 2nd attempt loads fine
