I was having crash issues on my x box 1x with train sim world 3 ..i might go back on that and remove some d l c i have 40 on there i did find playing tsw 3 offline helped some with less crashes ...as for tsw4 im on a new series s 1tb model have had a few random crshes but not as many d l c installed yet will keep them low until they see what they figure out with this issue .just wonder if it will end up cant have a large amount in console will just have to delete d l c not being played as much then if want to play it just re down load and delete something else..plus with lots more dlc comming will be hard to pick and choose between them
thinking of moving all my DLCs over to TSW4 but I'm not going to even though some on Facebook have said yeah do it. I'm on Series S so I'm going to reserve the move till Dovetail has fixed it.
I have all the DLC's installed, and is NOT using the offline method, as that prevents me from getting any achievements or Mastery points. The get around the load crashes, I do the following: I start the game, and wait for the music to start playing on the loading screen. I then quit the game manually, and restart it. So far, the game has loaded for me with all the DKC"s loaded, and I am enjoying all my routes so far. The only place where, it will quarantined crash, is the NY-Trenton extended timetable. To get past the load crashes, I do the manual quit trick, TSW4 is running with all my DLC installed, and so did TSW3. Not sure how they came to the conclusion that you need less DLC to load the game. How does playing in offline mode ties in with the amount of DLC installed. After the small core patch late last week, I can even now download liveries again.
Thank you for your advice i tried what you recomended and works.. I did the update and can now download creators club liveries too
I am experiencing CTD's and OOM crashes on Xbox One, it often crashes when I select a route when I go into the Scenario Planner menu and trying to select a scenario which I have made to test them ready for release on Creator's Club Also I have been having an issue with the ability to edit custom scenarios which I have made, the problem is explained here but I am unsure if it is related to the crashes I have been having and if anybody else is having the same issue, fingers crossed it has been internally logged by DTG but I want to see if anyone else has the issue in the thread linked
Ok so reading the DTG explanation…..this is multiple issues. Firstly the DEV Kit not acting like public and potentially the amount of add ons you have is what is crashing the game to start menu. Never had this on TSW 3 so why not unlock the TSW 4 content so it can be used on TSW3 and get rid of TSW 4, which if you are an X Box user “isn’t fit for purpose” and never was. Now I don’t subscribe to conspiracy theories but if I did I would say the reason DLCs weren’t able to be played in the pre release was because they knew it would crash the game so to delay their inclusion gave them a head start and a hope that they would get it fixed by release date. Unfortunately that failed. Here we are some 13 days adter official launch and the situation STILL persists which isn’t really good enough. If the amount of DLC is the problem then most of us are screwed becuse personally I have all content. Yes there are routes I play more than others but I can see a situation much like PS had last year where they would have to dump DLC to play the game. That situation rumbled on and on so don’t be surprised if this does the same. NOTE to DTG, considering the monumental screw that TSW 4 has been thus far for all of us on X Box how about a all hands to the deck situation whereby you put all resources into correcting the game before releasing any further content? By doing so might, only might, show people you are serious about rectifying bugs, glitches and crashes in your platform before moving on to try and cream more from your customers. I honestly hate writing such negative stuff but it seems that someone has to think before increasing profit. We get it you are a business but consumers should not be taken for a ride and goodwill will only stretch so far and tbh your track record has been lacking considerably ever since TSW 2020. It feels like malaise has set in and you are all happy to be in a comfort zone of mediocrity. Hopefully all those LOYAL customers on platforms that have had issues will reconsider buying any more DLC for this game at least until the end of the year. Not long but a financial kick up the backside is much needed to wake you up to the fact players won’t put up with this anymore. So I won’t part with money, and I don’t mean forever, I hope, until you have proved your competence by sorting out all glitches, bugs and crashes. Fed up with dead duck purchases, by that I mean something that doesn't work correctly but if tested correctly should do. Too much being left to chance and it is costing us good money which, everyone is different, a lot can’t afford to throw away on something that doesn’t work. Also it does nothing to help get children involved in the train hobby. Through my involving my older son he has gone on to get a job for a company that analyses the rail network and fault finding across the tracks of this country. My younger son has just started getting into trains but over the last few weeks has defected to Fortnite aargh! Now I’m considering departing TSW to spend time with Forza. Liken it to being married to TSW but having my eye turned by the younger, sexier Forza with her sleek curves and gleaming exhaust pipes and always ready for fun, adventure which makes you want to play forever. Whilst TSW has been moved to the siding with a blown diesel turbo and a dodgy connection which is no good to anyone.
according to matt from the charity streams its an issue with Add ons manager and the volume of Dlc.... sound familiar? but its with the beta testers and hopefully shouldnt be long
I can see this being a repeat of the PlayStation issue from TSW3, uninstall what you play least in order to get the damn thing running, layers be damned, add-ons manager clearly wasn't tested with the full quota of DLC before being released on Xbox.
theres an update for the core which should fix the crashes for some please refer to this... https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/xbox-crashes-weekend-update.74409/#post-733320 by jove it works
Exactly this, it was only needed to resolve an issue on PlayStation, yet DTG in their infinite wisdom decided to also release it for PC and Xbox, two platforms that had previously had no problems with handling TSW3 and a full quota of DLC.
This should be interesting - fingers crossed this finally works for most (hopefully all); all us Xbox players want is a game that actually works and not have to be played in offline mode to do so.
Interesting, taking the update now! Before this, the game did miraculously boot up first time this morning, and I took advantage of it to finally do more than just tutorials, and completed a full scenario run on the Antelope Valley line, took roughly an hour, and didn't even boot me back to dash at the end of it. On a side note, has anyone else's loading screen from startup changed from all of the new locos side-by-side, to just the Metrolink F125? Small price to pay for a *working game, just curious as to why this change was made... *Seems I'm one of the unlucky ones, still getting a crash to dashboard mid-load, tried twice now. I have all of the DLC installed from previous games, putting me at 89 add-ons total. EDIT: Have found the game loads if booting it up after a restart of the console, if you first play anything else, or run other apps such as YouTube for example, then you get the repeated CTD.
I have the F125 loading screen too. But the only thing I find more important is the crashes being fixed
Swing and a miss on the update for me; nice try DTG but you guys fell on your face with this one. No more DLC purchases from me until this gets resolved... I heard Starfield is fun!
After the update, it loaded without crashing. Working with 88 DLC"s installed. Thank you for the patch, DTG!
Since today's patch TSW 4 has worked fine online without any crashes after 4 hours of gameplay. Rather than my whole collection, I've only 29 DLC installed for stuff I'm currently playing - I've noticed loading times are quicker too.
Just had my first load crash, after 3 successful load attempts earlier. Hopefully we will see the permanent fix soon!. Edit: Loaded fine at restart attempt.
Apart from one crash, it is loading up fine, and playing fine. I have not tried to see if the NY-Trenton extended time table is working, as that was one place for a quarenteed crash.
Worse for me since the update; Before it loaded about 1 time in 3, now I'm averaging 4 attempts to get in (Series S, all DLC). I try to be optimistic, but this is sucking much of the joy of the game out for me. It's not good enough, it really isn't.
I’ve found it seems to work for some but not for others, I don’t know how that’s possible as we’ve all got the same patch
In our announcement we stated that this update will likely work for many people but not everyone, we're still working hard to resolve the issue completely but we wanted to offer some players a resolution while we had one ready. We will keep you updated on our Xbox Crashing announcement thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/xbox-crashes-weekend-update.74409/
On Xbox Series x with all DLCs. Update looks like it has worked for me, although I havnt done multiple loads. TSW4 is the only game on my console and I did a restart after downloading the update. The game took several minutes to load and the ‘wheel of death’ looked like it was struggling at times. Gone into ECML (full fat version) and seems to be ok so far. Update: Spoke too soon. Seems to be about 50% success rate in loading without CTD even when restarting the console between sessions. Once in (with the exception of NYT which I have given up on) runs pretty well.
Since the update, I only had 1 crash during loading. (1 crash on 5 loads. Not bad) I have all the DLC's installed, so it takes a little bit to load, and the spinning wheel of doom, stutters at times, but it is loading consistently.
I’m staying clear of NY-Trenton for the time being. Right now I seem to be addicted to free roam mode haha
Scenarios and reduced time table seems to be working on NY-Trenton. The extended new time table is NOT playing nice with my series X. Massive stutters and crashes on extended timetable.
Xbox series X 50+DLCs and crashed back to the xbox home/Dashboard the only thing the update has done is change the loading screen to the metrolink F125.
So far it's loaded 2 out of 2 so far with no crashes at all . Will keep trying it through out the week.
It's odd how it works for some, other not. So far, it's worked fine for me on Series X since the update as I've played for a couple hours across multiple nights without any issue. Thus, do you think it's the amount of DLC currently installed, or playing certain routes that seem more memory intensive?
No more crashes on loading for me yet (XBox S). I assume the update was silent as there was no notification. The only time I can get it to crash now is if I delete an AI train in the sandbox. I don't know if this is expected behaviour but I wouldn't be surprised if doing this screwed with the Dispatcher.
I was on the Dresden route and I happened to delete an AI train before I experienced my crash and it was one that was already spawned too!
Never had any crashes playing tsw4 on Xbox series X, everything was working perfectly fine, until the recent update yesterday... now I've had five crashes in a row, so I'm unable to get into the game at the moment. *Edit was able to load in on the sixth attempt
I was getting many crashes and have since stayed offline and it seems to work. I also have Xbox series X
Xbox one S Game crashes and returns to Xbox Home Screen every time I try to play TSW 4, is anyone else experiencing the same issue? And is this issue being looked at all?
Still getting crashes around Stratford on SEHS (a problem I've been having since June on TSW3), everywhere else apart from Doncaster on ECML is working OK.
