Excuse my bad English, but enough is enough. Even without mods, this patch does more damage than usual. Now, for example, on the Lucerne-Sursee DLC there is only 5 seconds of sound from the train and ambience. After that, the whole game doesn't make any sound. I've had enough of this wrecking business. You want to earn money? With this poor quality, but no more with me. I've put so much money into this game, but what for so that you completely drive the project against the wall. Take back this useless patch !!!! The game is no longer playable like this!!!
A VERY swift fix is required, or roll back the core update. First DLC mods broke, now core mods and even GodMode don't work. This is farcical to say the least.
Hey folks. To update - we've just pushed an update on Steam to revert the mods patch of today's update. We believe this will bring mods back to where they were pre-update. Thanks for letting us know of the issues, and for your patience as we've sorted.
I am playing a service and I have not lost any audio to luzern sursee. I am also on steam playing vanilla. I also downloaded the update just now too but no loss in audio
Mods are working again now, thank you very much for being so quick to fix it! Is the rest of the patch still working? Or was all of it rolled back?
I believe only the bit affecting mods. Either way, credit where it’s due, that is an impressive turnaround.
It is indeed, I was seriously worried that it was going to be like that for weeks. So props where props is due. Well done DTG.
After the patch was partially withdrawn, the following happens. I start TSW4, take the route Luzern Sursee and want to play, for example, the Senario Busy season. While loading the senario, the game completely stops. However, the normal timetable mode seems to work. Greetz Manny
I just tried that. Loaded the scenario Slippery Season and was able to play it fine. I have the following mods installed Improved Signals God Mode Ground Foliage And Jetwash’s INI changes (High) So if you have any other mods installed maybe try removing them. But doesn’t look like this happens for everyone.
Not sure if I'm missing something here, in the changelog notes it states Full Changelog Core Modded .pak files should now work as expected within Train Sim World 4. OK, so does this mean the mods we had in TSW3 will now work in TSW4? Because I've tried a couple and they still don't work
No this change broke existing TSW4 mods so DTG backed the change out again (just the bit for mods). See JD’s post above. So existing TSW4 mods are working again but nothing else has changed.
yeah that core "fix" which made most mods not work, was pulled back so now mods should work normally again
3.7 GB yesterday, 6.3 GB today - - is this the rest of the game being loaded? I'm not going to have any drive space left.
Ok, if that is the case then I've had around 8-10 GB of update content come in over the last two days
Good morning everyone, I've just started a discussion regarding the most popular community mods being used, which will help us understand how to test our patches against popular mods, so I thought I'd share this chat to bring more attention to it. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/community-discussion-most-popular-community-mods.75733
yeah idk why you mention that because the issue has been resolved already but good for you
community mods are the for me the only reason I keep playing TSW4 after having bought it with a sufficient discount but, does DTG approve of the game being modded or not on the PC?
I suspect theyre open to it, as they have spoken of the desirability of mods like the signal ones. Its not like they need to worry about mods breaking anything, as they can achieve that without our help..
They approve. In fact, they’ve just stickied a thread here for people to list the ones they use so they can make sure they’re compatible.
I mean it's really not a good point. "I'm so glad I didn't upgrade to TSW4, where when they make a massive mistake they work late and fix it that day." That should be praised and encouraged, not frowned upon. Like, sure you can argue it shouldn't have happened in the first place, but it's also not their job to ensure compatibility with third party modifications.
Exactly! Good mods will not "break the game," but any mods or non-release settings should be used with caution. I trust the mods made by Jetwash/Bescot, etc. - but if I myself made mods? We'd be back to HO scale model trains.
I really cannot take anything you say seriously at this point. SD40 AU make more convincing counterarguments than that.
Nah, but that would've been a objectively better use of my time, as the sky doesn't respond with nonsense. It sure isn't as fun though.
