Has anybody here got the Bernina Line and do you have any feedback on it?

The route is astonishment, some even turn into scarecrows.

 

Well it's one of rivets best routes. Only thing that makes it lose points for me is the track which is too "white" and some scenery lods looking weird. 1hr 45min runs is also too slow for me but that's not a bad.

There's reports of safety systems not behaving properly, cruise control having some trouble.

Good things are the scenery, sound and physics. The length doesn't bother me too much

Thank you SO much for pointing this out! Indeed there is a "Zoomier zoom" option in Godmode which I was unaware of, and was the root of my confusion. (I know, RTFM ) Now disabled and the controller is working as expected, but with the greatest respect to the author this option should really be off by default, to be enabled if desired.

 

To be fair I wouldn't be surprised if the person who made it hadn't tested it, since I expect that most PC players will use a mouse and keyboard to play TSW. You could probably send him a message about it, but I wouldn't want it to be disabled - I use it all the time.

 

Obviously I don’t mean disable it permanently, just that the option is set to off to avoid confusion the first time you use Godmode. Once you enable it, it should of course stay on. I have dropped a comment on TSC.

 

I meant that setting it to off by default probably wouldn't be a good idea. I suspect that if it was off by default it wouldn't be used by new users, which would be a pity.

 

Did you have a bit of an oil spill on the platform?

 

They're burn marks from when the 180s ran on the route.

The archways in the first shot are interesting. Are they just clean or did they forget to colour / texture them in? Makes me shake my head how pathetically minimal they are when testing things. I beta test for a couple of small developers for a different game and it is very refreshing to deal with them. Nothing goes out the door until everything works and everything is checked over again and again to try to minimise support tickets from the general public. I guess the other refreshing part is seeing all said tickets responded to and adjustments made when necessary, unlike the abyss that is the DTG support ticket.

 

They were fine until the last patch... all shadows are gone now.

Yeah, definitely some hot headed guys with all the heat from the head spreading to the rest of the body, since it isn't cold for them to dress like that.

 

Did they just completely mess up GWE even further?

 

I see the strange black patches on the platform floors at Reading; and one pillar that has the bottom portion missing (probably winter shrinkage). I do note they have a LOT of invisible helicopters flying around there.

Yeah it seems like it. I noticed it the other day, it looked worse.
That route is in dire need of a face lift.

Were they even doing something on GWE to begin with or did they break it by messing with a completely different content?

As I don't have TSW4 and I don't follow its changes, I don't know if it was the latest update or not.

 

GWE makes no sense, when you start a service its automatically ready to depart you dont board any pax, some of the London - Reading 166 services are trapped behind a stopper, the times are all random for example due at ealing broadway at 10:20:39. Also you can very much open the doors while your train is moving

 

Who knows? It was never explained why the catenary was suddenly misplaced on RRO. Whatever happened to GWE's Paddington and Reading station makes no sense at all. For GWE, I have TSW3 installed and rolled back the update which broke the wipers (not possible to rollback in TSW4).

 

Maybe they are thinking of relenting on the biggest requested thing in TSW which is to extend GWE and some preparation for that has broken the ends of the route. I can’t think of any other reason.

 

That's very wishful thinking. My assessment would be there's been a change to core materials with Unforeseen Consequences.

you may have the nail on that, I have noticed this with many different trains and the Raildriver, with some it's mostly okay, and with others is erratic and, or when you toggle the low horn, it activates signal lights/headlights, and yet nothing happens. Many of the trains that I found this happening on were the German trains. I found that DB Raildriver remapping by Roman72 has helped a lot, the DB BR642 is one. Also, the same one that Besccot - BR642 Throttle/Brake Handle Sensitivity Fix just made a quick fix for, don't get me wrong here, I do very much appreciate what all the modders do, but why should the modding community be making patches/hotfixes, adding things in yes, making new or better pain schemes yes, but if it were not for much of the modding community, who knows where or in what state TSW would be in. IMHO that is...

 

A patch that might take modders a short amount of time might not be the case for dtg.

Dtg is a business at the end of the day and dlc is their main revenue stream. I know during the December roadmap, they mentioned how they wanted to do less frequent patches that are much larger so probably why. Also many developers went on holiday for a long amount of time

 

I am sorry, but this is irrelevant.
I have purchased some DLC. So I now Own said DLC.
Without my knowledge or acceptance, they have now broken my DLC.
That DLC now needs fixing.

You can roll out as many excuses as you wish. The above still stands.

A bit late here, but with all due respect, I can't buy that for a Dollar, yes they are in the business to make $$$, but that also includes a product that is not broken, or needs to be patched within weeks of release "TSW4" and much of what was promised, is either not ready for prime time, or just not working as it should, I have yet to use the Free Roam mode, but keep hearing and seeing how much of it just does not work correctly. The a lack or I should say minimal replies anywhere here on the forums. And it is their job to make a viable product, not just pump out broken half-baked DLCs. Like I said I very much appreciate the modding community, they have made much of TSW better, but even there they are limited because of the way the game is made, and from what I have seen and read, the official editor is still not working properly.
:Correction:
Just like in FO3 and FO4, you can play that Vanilla, no it's not the best and it has its issues, but the modding community found a way to make it look better, improve the NPCs, add many objects that were not in-game, and not just completely fix and patch the game so it can be played better, yes some things were. But in TSW I have seen more patches and fixes, corrections, with much of the game, from the ToDv4 lighting to better handling of the trains.

As of right now I am running close to 150 mods and have more to install because the lighting on a train is off or to bright on the tail lights, or the headlights too dim, I can go on and on here, but we talk of these things because we all want DTG too be better, and stay viable. And again the Red light bug re-appears.

 

Am I the only one who thinks that is a DUMB name for a company? But hey, I'm no shareholder.

I do. I can see it’s a palindrome and maybe that’s why there is a big P at the end but it looks bad as well as sounding bad. Maybe they thought of it in a hurry. Focus is a better name, which they're also keeping for publishing..

Apart from the nappy comparison, I think it might be a "phoenix like" name, so the company is in a nosedive and the GPWS is screaming "pullup, don't sink, pullup" to save them from destruction.

I guess they could have called it "don't sink" but that's not as snappy as "pullup"

How Ironic that I make an offhand comment on Monday, call me crazy, NutZ, whatever, but this Could be Maybe, one reason for the extended Vacation time for many at DTG. So when do they start cleaning house? And I do believe this also reinforces the reason for the use of Denuvo, do anything and everything to stop/halt piracy.

I've stopped doing speculations, just playing the game. It's no April's fool though.

 

It might just be the case that older TSW's are once again available to purchase (on XBox as well) in order to bolster up the financials before the new tax year. That would also explain the near-giveaway sale prices for TSW4 bundles as well as the recent release of those low effort, high cost addon packs.
