For the LIRR rail fans, they're a couple of services that are listed under Babylon on the timetable but are actually Wantagh services. The change never made it to the timetable listing, but it did make it to the train and station PIS. There're also AI only service to Massapequa Park, Freeport, and Seaford that you won't see on the timetable since they are AI only. The Wantagh services are 1050 3:35pm trk18,1054 around 4:37pm trk21. Massapequa Park service1052 4:13pm trk 20 (AI only). Freeport service 1152 5:04pm trk21 and service 1062 5:48pm trk 18 (both AI only). Seaford service (AI only) service a 5:41pm trk15. Hope this information is helpful
How would we know to slow down in time without an in cab warning? Is there anything to look out for so we don't approach at 80.
No need to slow down. In real life those switches were good for 80 mph. That section now has a third track and has been replaced with slower switches. The third track is not featured in the game so you can still take those switches at max track speed. He was just saying that he personally felt as if the speed for those switches should have been lower in real life when they were good for 80. I hope I'm not confusing you lol.
Ohh wow. This whole time I thought you meant in real life they felt rough at 80 lol. Okay understood.
LIRR fans- a couple of more unique AI only services for your viewing, these spawn out of the Babylon branch portal. M3 service 1007 from Lindenhurst around 701am. M7 service 29 from Babylon around 710am. M9 service 1015 from Amityville around 740am. M7 service 1017 from Merrick around 753am. M7 service 45 from Babylon around 820am. Enjoy
For express fans I've recommend 1619(M9). Departing from Hicksville is unusual. You'll feel a little special. I have some question to the signalers: why do I have a higher priority above M3, which not even supposed to stop at Jamaica?
LIRR railfans- AI only M9 service 5814 Penn- Far Rockaway. Dead head move. Departs track 19 at 753AM. no PIS on the platform or train. You can ride as in crew staff.
making fun of MTA, but the thing is, thanks to their intervention, we got probably the best working ATC/ASC and ACSES in the game... I wish Metrolink enforced the PTC aspect of their trains on Antelope Valley... dont get me wrong, I like the route and all, but some real safety stuff there wouldnt hurt for those who want additional challenge
To be fair, it was working that well before LIRR made it a requirement for them to be enabled at all times.
For the LIRR diesel service enthusiast- Lirr2- Simulating Diesel Service 603 4:55am From Port Jefferson - Hunterspoint Ave | Dovetail Games Forums
a double thumbs up then anyway, more feedback after more runs... dunno if it is just my keyboard or in general, but in M9 the input seems to be VERY sensitive - if I want to increase throttle more slowly, I can apply but a very slight touch to the key, and as for brakes, they are more sensitive than throttle - I mean... you got min brake and all of a sudden you are at 30% brake... maybe it is just my oldie keyboard, dunno, but on other routes I didnt notice the controls being as sensitive as here yea, I am aware of that and act accordingly, but it is still noticeable havent yet driven M7 so cant say if it is the same there
Cutting Down scenario: Bring train into Jamaica from NYP... Split unit, sit in new cab for outbound journey... Load passengers continues indefinitely with no end goal/task progression. Been sat in Jamaica for over 20mins now with no loading passengers completion.
Whoa. Long Island City exists! I mean there is not only tracks(it's visible on map), but a scenery too. The obvious disadvantage is that you will hear every train in the tunnels below you. M9: 1621/2068.
I performed service 127(M3) - this is some kind of madness. Trafic are insane. Signalers do some weird things. Also there was 2 species(on screenshot), which decided to stand near Sunnyside Yard for a long time. Arriving at NYP I saw that M7(bottom one) start moving, but M9(top one) still there. Really suspicious dudes.
they eventually move. This is around 5:30pm time frame correct? One I know the M9 moves at 540pm. both are AI only moves
probably those guys who took the trains for a joyride and now they are stuck with rails all around them muahaha
Yeah, something around 17:30. Also at Jamaica I saw very sad M9, which stood there for ages, allowing all the trains from Babylon to pass.
lots of action around that time at Jamaica https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...video-of-jamaica-station-5-00pm-6-15pm.81493/
Would anyone recommend this route I've been thinking whether to get it but wanted to know what people thought of it
I would say read through some of the pages in this thread and see different points and reviews from the players. I would suggest watching this video first .
You can go to page 8 where I gave my review on it https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/lirr-commuter-feedback-thread.81073/page-8
For me it's one of the best routes in the game and the safety systems do not bother me in the least, since using them is part of the immersion.
As I said in my short review: If you are a fan of authentic scenery, then this route is not for you. Otherwise, if you are commuter fan, playing with safety systems always on, then this is a good choice.
Well I'd say: If you are a fan of authentic scenery, then this game is not for you. Just stating the fact, no judging here.
played some more, now with M7, and while the throttle/brake sensitivity isnt as wild as on M9, it is still a bit noticeable
Some routes are better try to display reality, some worse. LIRR one of the "we simply used the first object in the editor library". Also no transponders.
I will say that I feel like Hillside Support Facility is severely underutilized in the timetable whether as playable services or AI. There should be many trains that use the facility throughout the day in preparation for the evening rush, and trains parked in it beginning at night, but it doesn't seem to have that level of activity typically seen in the railroad.
Probably not a big deal but I kind of realized this during the preview stream and didn’t say anything until I noticed the handrails going into the front of the M9. The M9s fronts ends are coupled way too close to each other.
No hillside is not used as a yard just a maintenance facility when trains enter rush hour is usually from the yard out east like Ronkonkoma or Babylon yard
M9 service C72 Vanderbilt Yard - Atlantic Terminal (Part 2) 17:48 derails as soon as you start it. I think the service is possibly starting with the unit in the buffer stop.
Thank you for bringing this up. I have filed a Jira ticket for this issue. Im sure you already have but, in the meantime, if you want to get credit for this service you can continue it from p[art 1 as it works that way. It does have about a 7-minute wait until part 2 starts. again, thank you for your feedback
AI is cheating! Took the race on M9's from Jamaica to Woodside. We kept pace until 60 mph. Then the AI push the nitro button and go ahead. C'mon, we are on the same bolids with the same controller! We need antycheat in TSW!
I noticed some floating cars on the route also why don't AI trains ever have wipers on when it's raining it happens on most routes its strange the route overall isn't to bad
