Most of my wishlist is for TSC. Could do with Maintalbahn for TSW as somewhere else to run the 218 at but only at 50% or more off. Memory suggests DTG don’t tend to do such generous discounts in the summer sale as they do in the winter ones or their own promotional campaigns. Typically only 30 to 40% off and I bet the relatively new stuff like Fife Circle or Bernina only gets 20% off, if that.

OV In the last sale you could buy both Fife Circle and Berninalinie together for 37%, in the Rivet offer, so hopefully at least 45%.

Maintalbahn was 30% so maybe 40% this time.

Just my predictions but we will all know in 55 minutes time.

Only 23 minutes until the Steam Summer sale launches. Fingers crossed. Steam wallet at the ready. Not much for TSW but there are other games I'm watching.

And the Steam Store seems to have crashed as it always does at the start of a big sale!

Edit: In now. Not looked at TSW but some very lacklustre discounts on TSC stuff. Ringbahn only 10% off and Brocken 15% off. About to take a look at TSW.

I was toying with the idea of getting FCL, but at only 30% off, it's still too flawed and expensive. Nothing else I really wanted.

Just very poor discounts all round. Toying with Maintalbahn but not sure 45% off is enough of a bargain.

I agree some discounts are lower than their historical levels. I am keeping my wallet pretty tight this summer. 15% for Blackpool when Just Trains are offering 20% and consoles 25%

Yet I notice the 3 TSW bundled routes are all 80% off. Does that count as a fire sale in preparation for a new TSW5 Summer bundle?

Maybe, but if that’s the case, I will probably leave five alone. TSW4 is working perfectly for me and having a full house have plenty to keep me occupied for a long time to come. If TSW4 continues l will still add new products to it but leave five until next summer when the offers will be good.

The newer routes are NOT 80% off, so I wouldn't take that as anything to do with TSW 5. Just that they are older routes and there are always heavy discounts for older routes.
Now if Semmeringbahn or Rosenheim were 80% off, you MIGHT be able to halfway make a case....

Crosstie, If you buy it with Berninalinie you can now get both at 37% off, that is assuming you haven’t previously purchased Berninalinie!!!

Crosstie. Both routes are in the Steam Sale. Go to either route and scroll down the page and you will see the bundle, as shown below.

My Rivet “Mega Bundle” came in at £72. Erm, please rearrange the following words: “Stuffed, Get”.

I might pay £20 for Edinburgh to Glasgow, Fife Circle and Bernina Halfbahn in a bundle but that quoted price is seriously taking the yellowy stuff!

Yes, it's over $71 on Steam. I don't really want any other Rivet dlc apart from possibly FCL so that bundle is way out in left field.
I'm only considering FCL because I'm desperate for some diesel traction. Maybe I should go for the 218, but then I'd have to buy Maintalbahn
    which I'm loathe to do.
This TSW sale has nothing for me.

Has nothing for me either. That’s my own fault for buying too much over the past years!

However I am very happy with the 218. Regarding Maintalbahn, I hated it before and aside from Rivets various offerings, it was my least favourite route. Yet somehow blasting down it in the 218 is actually quite pleasant. Not the greatest DLC, but at least with a decent Loco, it’s quite enjoyable.

Of course it will be more expensive if you haven’t got most of those included in the deal. I only needed Bernina and Fife to complete my full routes collection, so at £18 each and nothing more needed other than the new 218, as much as l don’t like Rivets work. At very much nearly 40% off, l decided to buy. I nearly bought them at the same price in the May sale, so as the next sale is at the end of October decided to act now.

Now l wait for next years summer sale to see what hasn’t been released yet to update the game.

I can actually recommend Maintalbahn. It gets a bad rap, but suspect most of the ill favoured comment comes from the rather dire 642 DMU. Blasting along with the 218 on an all stations service, trying to get up to the 120 km/h linespeed before slamming the brakes in again, was great fun. Probably helped with the scenery that typical dynamic weather kicked in, with the sunny start turning to rain after a few minutes then progressively darkening into the thunderstorms from Wheel Of Time.

I've also had the 612 sub in when I decided to pick something from Journey mode so while, in reality, a bit wasted on a stopping service at least the physics and sound are moderately accurate.

Picked up a couple of titles in the Microsoft Store sale:

Train Sim World® 4 Compatible: Brighton Main Line: London Victoria - Brighton - £7.49 (70% off)
    Train Sim World® 4 Compatible: BR 313 - £4.79 (60% off)

I'm considering Boston Sprinter, also £7.49, but I'm really on the fence with this one. Opinions seem to be quite divided.

Recommended. It's had some updating in the last couple of years. It's a fast- running commuter route. Also recommended is the Acela which enhances the timetable and gameplay of the route.

I'm gonna sign that. Maintalbahn surely has got a couple of signalling issues and the timetable can be a little tense and hard to keep up with, but overall it's a nice straightforward route, not too short and not too long. I'd actually recommend it as well. :)

For me it's quite fun to drive on, EXCEPT when using the 642... this thing is just underpowered and ridden with bugs and issues. It's easier to stay on time with the 628 and that's saying something. :o
The 628 could basically carry the route on its own, although having the 218 and 612 spices it up quite a bit and adds lots of variety.
Also, the shunting and freight transfer services with the 363 here are quite demanding, albeit a bit bugged at times.

My biggest single gripe about Boston Sprinter, is that for some reason the author(s) decided to set all the Journey Mode trips in the middle of winter. Would have been nice to get a mixture of runs showcasing the route in all seasons.
There's at least one run in Journey Mode (Train 66 empty stock) that cannot be completed following the in game instructions and you need to path yourself onto a workaround routing. Don't think this was ever fixed, along with the see through walls of the depot, if you ever make it inside!

I was back into steam and would like to grab some DLCs having some money to spend. This are my ideas
Southeastern Timetable (BR700, Rail Operation, Rail Head Treatment) for 6.24.
Acela for 3.23 (Own both Boston Providence and New York Trenton)
    New Journey koln 1.44
    Midland Main Line 18.95
    Maintalnìbahn 13.19

My idea is this Souteastern +Acela + Maintalbahn +New Journey for 24.1,but i would like some feedback for maintalbahn since i'm reading mixed reviews. Or is better Souteastern +Acela + Maintalbahn +Midland for 28.42?

I think southeastern, new journeys, midland and acela is the better option.

New journeys is a must because it makes the timetable much busier and there is a massive new timetable coming.

Southeastern adds a lot of extra services to play with.

    Midland mainline is just good.

    Acela is pretty cheap

I've got so far on this sale only ROG 37/7 & Thameslink 700/0, as that's what I've been missing for SEHS and they will also add some layers elsewhere.

I'm still thinking whether to get Railpool Vectron for the German/Austrian routes. I watched a couple of videos with increased replay speed, mainly showing scenarios rather than timetabled services, but they somehow didn't convince me. I'll probably keep it in the cart until the last day of the Steam Summer Sale, before deciding to get it or not.

New (old) routes which already waited some year and half for appropriate discount will wait for another sale, along with recently released routes. I'm getting some other games instead.

At the end it seems that the package with midland and the rest will cost less than the package with Maintalbahn

Am i right in saying you cant play something purchased through epic on the steam version of tsw?Wanted to pick up a couple of routes and they are nearly £20 off on epic, not paying full price for them thats for sure.

Correct. But Steam sales come around like clockwork, so chances are those routes will be on a similar % off on Steam next sale. The next big one is alas a little while off - the Autumn sale (effectively Black Friday sale) at end of November.

Though, looking on steamdb (a helpful tracking site for all things Steam), there’s a “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” sale in mid-Sept. TSW must surely be in that.

Also worth keeping an eye out for Dovetail Direct from August 20th where they may likely provide some offers to coincide with upcoming major announcements.

There seem to be a few completion bundles on Steam at present. I managed to grab one which gave me Rapid Transit for £5.99. About what it’s worth, at this point!

I'm jealous of you Steam owners, looks like a pretty good Black Friday sale. Almost everything on sale but the latest routes.

I'm on Epic Games and their Black Friday sale is more Blah Friday as far as TSW is concerned, only 14 or 15 items on sale.

Hopefully Epic's holiday sale will be better.

Following on from Steam's Autumn Sale, DTG have extended it into the Autumn Encore Sale -

    Wednesday 4th - Wednesday 11th December
    25-80% discounts

Be aware that larger discounts are usually available in the Steam Winter Sale, which this year runs from December 19th to January 2nd.

For players who have Just Trains WCML and would like the stock required for the additional layers, there's a bundle -
    https://store.steampowered.com/bund...L_Preston__Carlisle_Complete_Layering_Bundle/
(usual Steam policy applies - you're only offered DLC you don't already own)

    Only one "giveaway" - TSW 4 & 5: Maintalbahn, at £4.99; an 80% discount.

It surprised me, too though mainly because of the 218 layer. Also most of the original runs I have had the 612 layer in which is always a nice pleasant train to drive.

Supposedly the BF sale was to run through Dec 6, but it's already over. I had been cosidering getting West Cornwall cheap, just for layers on WCMLOS, but I certainly won't at full price.

Very pleasant, since it's a much higher performance train than the poky little 642. The 612 subbed in for ICE-TDs for a while, whereas the 642 is basically a 628 successor.

Not long to the Christmas sale (21st December?) which should yield some more bargains.
