Regarding TSC sales; does Virtual Railroads have one? Or any other of the German providers of high quality DLC for Train Sim Classic??
Genorous discounts indeed. I think it would be cool if they created scenario packs to go with the locomotives and included one with each locomotive, in my honest opinion. I prefer to be able to do more than just a quick drive out of the box without having to create my own scenario.
Did a scan. All products have some form of discount. However, these are the ones with a 50% discount: - Allgaubahn - Drautalbahn - Giselabahn - Holzkirchen - Wörgl - Karawankenbahn - Mittenwaldbahn Route ÖBB 4024 - Draisine - X626 - Traxx 3 - BR 187 Those are the best discounts available. If I missed any, let me know.
It is very ambitious, but CW had been very steadily making good on that promise. Of LNER alone, they have released 17 different loco classes over the last few years.
I think he'd be asleep - Seeing as he lives in the same state I do in Australia, it's nearly midnight here.
Haha you would be right; I was asleep at the time of Cyclone's message but anyway here is what is requested: The best deals in the 2024 Summer Encore Sale; any DLC with a greater than 50% discount! It isn't a new sale, just extended the old one. Discounts for products that remained on this sale are the same as on the summer sale, and SteamDB says it started 16 days ago, so there was continuity all the time.
Not everything kept sales. I noticed the Fastline and Just Trains stuff have no current sales, for instance.
Yes I had been eyeing the Searchlight ES44 but back up to full price so that can wait for the next one.
To celebrate the West Somerset Railway in England's 150th Anniversary some extra items have come on sale / had sale discount increased on Steam alongside the Summer Encore items! As usual; here are the extra items that have been upped in sale price or added to the encore sale for the WSR sale with a discount greater than 50%. The WSR Sale does last a bit longer than the Encore sale; it lasts until the 22nd of July; where as the encore sale ends on the 18th of July. Locos 67% - BR Class 07 Loco Add-On 60% - BR Class 33 Loco Add-On 60% - BR Class 52 Loco Add-On 60% - GWR Pannier Tank Pack Add-On 60% - GWR Small Prairies Loco Add-On 60% - GWR Steam Railmotor Loco Add-On 60% - N15 King Arthur Class 'Sir Lamiel' Loco Add-On 60% - Southern Railway S15 Class Steam Loco Add-On 60% - USATC S160 Loco Add-On 60% - WSR Diesels Loco Add-On 59% - GWR 7800 'Manor' class Add-On Routes 80% - West Somerset Railway Route Add-On
Haha yeah! I assume the 150th anniversary is for the railway line the WSR operates on as a whole? I am going to be honest, I don’t know exactly when the original WSR pre-preservation opened!
I'm so sorry, I've just seen that DTG themselves were posting the 150th anniversary part and you were simply reporting that
All good mate! I’ve done some extra research and the anniversary is for the opening of the original line; specifically from Watchet to Minehead in 1874 150 years ago.
Steam Sounds Supreme just dropped their summer sale - 50% off selected products (See website for more info - https://www.steamsoundssupreme.com/) - Use discount code: summersale24_50 - Selected products - £5 minimum spend
Also 20% off Victory Works 9F, 9F Crosti add-on pack and GWR 94XX using discount code summersale24_20
Several Just Trains DLC, amongst others, at historic lows in the week long sale - https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/latest-sale.26955/#post-173781
There is a specific link to Just Trains DLC on Steam https://store.steampowered.com/search/?developer=Just Trains

If I remember correctly it also means some JT route merges may not work. Elsewhere; some third party DLC also may require Just Trains DLC where ocasionally it may only work with the JT Store version and not the Steam store version. This may not matter to some; but important to keep in mind. Unfortunately; Just Trains website does not have these same sales going on and rarely has sales on for their older items which is a real shame. Because if they did I would be snatching up some DLC from their site as we speak if this sale applied directly to their site as well!
I was curious as to when JT have sales on their site. I'm tempted to buy the Mayflower line, Wessex main line and possibly the Kyle line (I don't have AP stock installed much as it takes up pretty much all remaining space I have - might have to invest in a PC upgrade)
Grabbed Newcastle to Edinburgh which I know is flawed, but no-one else is going to do it. Also Kyle Line which I had bought previously from JT direct but streamlining my install thought I would grab the Steam edition.
Midland Main Line from Sheffield to Derby is the major one. The Steam version has the same route ID but does not have the full route in there, meaning that the extension DLC will not work with it. Make sure you only use the version of Midland Main Line you want to take precedence. That said, if you for some reason have both versions (why?), I think the Steam route comes in an AP file so your Just Trains install would take control as the main router if you have it. The Common Library files are still unpacked in both versions, though, and can be manually deleted if you have the AP version. Later extensions actually refer to the AP file. Steam versions of other MML routes are identical to the store versions except for unique scenarios involving external stock to Steam. This also applies to other routes.
There is NO AP version of JT's MML...the AP branded enhancement is for DTG's Bedford-St Pancras route. If you're referring to .ap archives, don't use upper case letters....saves confusion.
You misunderstand. I do not mean Armstrong Powerhouse. I mean AP files that are used in all DTG releases since around 2013. I have always used capitals to refer to "files". Though my wording here is ambiguous, apologies for the confusion.
If you wish to call a *.ap file and Active Page file fine But don't get upset when people have no idea what you are talking about.
You can call it whatever you like, even if everyone else in the Universe including the game devs call it (write it as) an .ap Thankfully the rest of us are all on the same active page..
This is a pointless argument. After all, what do you call a music file in iTunes? mp3 or MP3? I see MP3 a lot more. Same with MP4 for videos often uploaded to Youtube. Let's stop arguing semantics and move on, shall we?
But semantics are everything in this case, whether you choose to see it or not. It is commonly accepted and widely used that ap means the archived file used within TSC and AP are the initials for Armstrong Powerhouse, what you choose to believe or say has no relevance other than to yourself. Movin' on.
I think that's an audio file. In any case, we're WAY off the topic of the thread, which is sales. Unless we have a sale on music files in Train Sim Classic, I will divert back here.
A new sale has started on Steam! A Swiss Sale is now on for a couple days until August 5th! (August 5th for Australia; probably 4th for most Northern Hemisphere countries I assume). Here are the best deals with anything on this list included having a discount greater than 50%. I will definitely be getting around to purchasing some of these DLC! Locos 60% - RhB Enhancement Pack 04 Add-On 60% - RhB Enhancement Pack 05 Add-On Routes 60% - Engadin Linie: Pontresina - Scuol-Tarasp Route Add-On 60% - Lake Constance: Schaffhausen - Kreuzlingen Route Add-On 60% - Surselva Line: Reichenau-Tamins - Disentis/Mustér Route Add-On Marketplace 70% - Bernina Line Scenario Pack 01 70% - Bernina Pass Scenario Pack 01 60% - FahrBAR Charity Coach Pack 60% - Surselva Line Christmas Scenario Pack
Interesting. The Scuol line is certainly on my wishlist. Looks like it's a RhB push as the SBB Gotthard Line not on there.
Fair enough. Anyhow I grabbed Surselva, Engadin and the green Ge6/6 7xx all for less than £30. Quality items too, by the look of it.
