I think there’s just a memory leak somewhere. FTF is just pissing it away, the longer you stay on the route the worse the textures get.

The only other route I’ve seen this problem on is Rosenheim, the incab decals would become pixelated.

On this route things get bad pretty quick. The textures degrade to the point where you can’t even read station signs.

I’d buy that it was just a not enough memory issue, but then switching to HD textures should solve the problem, but it doesn’t.

Yes, for now the only solution I found is saving and restarting from the save. I'm using Xbox series x but I must say the game is poorly optimized. I love the wcml route though, and with a bit of improvement could get even better.

I really like the WCML-South - coming out of Euston with an Electric Loco and a train of Mk3 coaches is really quite good.
As you go flying thru Watford Jn, Milton Keynes, past the M1 to Rugby before branching off to Coventry, Birmingham International and New St.

I know I said the other day I would be back with more feedback, until now I haven't been back, and I think that says more than any actual feedback would. Even with the 390, the route has no lure for me to return to it and so I am just playing the same routes as before, but on the PC as the Xbox DLC won't download. I really did want to come here with a decent review of the route, but frankly, the timetable mixed with the appallingly low textures at some points, especially Euston area, and all other issues just have put me off from playing the route, full stop. Of course there are positives, such as the 350's sound, which seems really crisp, no popping or owt at all, but I can't enjoy this with all the negatives leant up against the positives. Not necessarily a disaster, but by no means can it be considered a successful route.

You might be a bit disappointed as this route only goes from Euston to Milton Keynes ;)

I think Pete (749006) was trying to be a bit ironic, while pointing out the TSC version is superior in almost every way.

You know what's the most backwards thing?

The Class 390 layers onto Cathcart Circle and has the proper destination boards displaying 'London Euston' on the trains own PIS, and has off map destinations with all the stations showing down to London Euston... I sincerely thank Liam for making all the small details in Cathcart Circle, he has transformed it into hands down one of the best routes in the game, and is on par with Blackpool Branches for me, and shows the 390 is perfectly capable of working correctly.

But how ridiculous it works properly on another route but not the WCML itself... Tell me this is a Rivet route, without telling me this is a Rivet route...

Saved Game caused issues back in 2022 and I thought I might have the same issue as back then?

Guiding myself in gently I followed Rail Journeys and first full run down to Euston on 2K16. I saved at Harrow & Wealdstone. On approaches to Euston the proceeeding Milton Keynes - Euston service 2K14 is stuck at a Red Aspect. There appears to be a scheduled AI departure that has a Green Aspect but train info states it's reached it destination?

Hmm, all the route and performance have been fine for me. No problems at all. I like the route. It is not perfect by any means but perfectly playable.

Even though I am not a big fan of British railways (I like them, but I prefer the German ones) I would have paid double or even triple to see the Euston-Liverpool (or Manchester) line. I hope one day someone will make something longer. With the Pendolino you fly and arrive immediately. I want to feel the journey more.

Just to point out, the Cathcart Timetable was Joe's work. You've got him to thank for the 390 being setup properly on the route.

Liam did all the new scenery and materials to make it a beautiful route.

Sincerely appreciate each and everyone who contributed to it. My apologies as I didn't know, so sending my extended thanks to Joe too!

Hopefully the Pendolino display boards look as good on WCML South soon...

Joe, it seems, is a rather sought-after commodity, and Matt has already stated that he is not available to work on WCML. I would not expect therefore any meaningful changes to the timetables in the near future, and DTG's deafening silence on the matter would appear to confirm this.

Well contractual arrangements notwithstanding, if Rivet were responsible it should be thrown back to them to sort out under pain of withholding part of the royalties or commission for working on the route.

When a company subcontracts out work then the company who is given the work must complete the work to get paid a certain amount then they get the rest of the money once the work has been signed off as complete, usually? Unless DTG have arranged a different deal, where Rivet cover the cost, but get a large cut of the DLC, we can guess, but we still stuck with a lemon.

I see a post from dtg saying if you save and exit before euston then resume, it should clear the memory so you can complete the service. Not ideal but better than nothing I guess.

Third rail clearly missing on Line B for the Up direction Overground trains going into Euston through Park Village tunnel:

Cab view IRL from the other direction but you can clearly see third rail should be present:

Some people were mentioning this SHORT route on the TSC forum even though it was a TSC Sales thread.

One thing I have noticed on the Lioness line that some of the station placement sdo camera for the drivers.

One doesn't even face them. But the opposite platform and also that if underbreak and end up stopping near one then your stuck as the objects won't allow you to pass no matter any reset or reverse. Probably placement and platform clipping is the issue at hand. Also found one station foot bridge you go up and the. Fall straight through to under neath lol. Guessing a screw up on active blocks to walk on lol.

I find it rather strange that the 390 layers in to Cathcart. Does it run on CCL in real life? How fast can it go on such a short commuter route? I guess I'll give it a try.

Glasgow Central is the furthest northern point of the WCML with services from Euston terminating there, aswell as return services from Glasgow Central.

It’s AI only, the WCML portion of CCL is only about the first mile out of Glasgow Central.

Did my first run on the DC Line yesterday evening. Couldn’t help thinking passing through the Kensal Green single bore tunnel, the interior looks like it has been textured using the old Superquick OO brick paper! Flat texture, no safety recesses, no weathering or grunge. I don’t recall it being like that on Bakerloo. Apart from the caveats others have mentioned, the section wasn’t too bad otherwise though would much rather be driving it from a Class 501 unit.

I noticed that that Wembley Yard has no lighting. Perhaps they did not notice that the lighting is on the OHLE gantries, or not possible to model for TSW?.

From what I've seen online and on YouTube the whole route looks ok but unfinished. I think they had grandiose ideas for it, but as usually happens time ran out and they rushed it in the end. They can be good route builders if the want to be, Suffragette was a little gem. The problem at DTG is undoubtedly too much dlc on the conveyer belt always and not enough time to devote to making each route as it should be for the cost. Quantity over quality in other words.
If they don't revisit the WCMLS timetable I shan't be buying because I spend so much time on the route IRL I simply can't bring myself to drive a half arsed route where so many of the services are missing and the 350's have all shrunk to 4 car consists, but especially the 710's which have been massacred. Sadiq would do his nut if he saw his beloved Lioness line in this state.

On this route, did anyone see the Alan Thomson stream of this route on Twitch? For a route that is clearly poorly made, they were uncharacteristically complimentary or defending it. I’m sure it’s nothing to do with the fact they are now developing a route for TSW. If you go back a year you’ll see a VERY different approach. Money talks..

I was absolutely gobsmacked to see TrainSimTV doing the same. I appreciate the position they are in but Tom was balanced and fair looking at Fife Circle. I almost couldn’t believe my ears listening to how complimentary he was being to WCMLS.

What is really frustrating is that TSW is always nearly there in terms of what is produced over all, with a bit of a nudge and a good shove TSW could be to train simulators, what Microsoft Flight Simulator is to flight simulators, but the then DTG produce or release wcml and you just think what the hell? I did ask or make the suggestion about joining routes up or at least have wide variety of services running from the same station, now we got route hopping which is a step towards something like this connecting route even though it is through a load screen. Yes, DTG are focusing on producing products to sell and one could argue they are too focused on selling and not looking after issues with TSW. Fine selling, but if your product quality suffers or goes down then eventually people won't buy the product and then it won't make any difference what DTG does.

Probably two main reasons that cause wcml

DTG probably wasn't in a postion to make the route or the whole route, DTG probably didn't have the time or resource to make wcml.

    Or

DTG are trying a new venture where they want to subcontract routes or part of routes construction, either in terms of a joint business venture or to free up resouces.

Not the most important thing, but did Rivet not bother using the Johnston/TFL typeface for the Lioness line?

Speaking of which, there's static 710's sitting at West Hampstead sidings. Never mind that, put them into that poor attempt of a timetable, even if it has auto-generated timings! f8c43169-45de-4835-bdac-3381d8c8f14e.png

Everything about Wembley Yard is incorrect in this reproduction by Rivet. From signalling to routing to actual layout, all drastically wrong.

Sorry for the late addon, you are correct in your thought. The 377/7s are the only stock (as of current) that runs the East Croydon to Watford Junction - I would know this as I use the route more or less daily for work. The 377/2s use to run the route until the May 2023 timetable overhaul where they were replaced with the now 377/7s. Presently the 377/2s can be found on all other parts of the network working both metro and commuter southern services

Yes I remember his review of the (original) WSR, very uncomplimentary. Frankly if there is a conflict of interests, he shouldn't even be doing reviews anymore. Which combined with their iffy business model for TSC means I am unlikely to ever buy any of their stuff and that likely includes their TSW route too, if it ever actually surfaces.

Yep. All reviews should be impartial with no axe to grind and no money, products or services changing hands quid pro quo.

It is confusing to us mere mortals who are neither ambassador or content creator, I tend now to buy late on after a few patches and a reduced price. Don't watch any of the reviewers as can make my own mind up. Would be great though to get paid a footballers salary for opening shoe boxes on a streaming service mind...
