Love the route, just a shame I haven’t been able to complete a service without the game crashing just outside of Euston every single time
I just done a service to Euston when I was approaching Euston the game went in slow motion it was very annoying I'm on series x should that really be happening
Agreed, not least as this thread was for feedback on the preview stream before the route was released. Now the route is available, there's a feedback thread in the TSW5 feedback sub-forum: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...e-london-euston-milton-keynes-feedback.84525/ So this thread is now duplicating that one, thus I think time to let it drift off to oblivion (aka page 2)...
So things I've noticed about WCML South pathing, routing and stock issues. 6V49 in real life is a JNA rake from Northampton Castle Sidings to Acton, not intermodal boxes as it is presently. Bletchley Reliefs not being used to stable intermodal trains, they've been added and routed to the Bletchley carriage sidings. Wembley Central signalling is all wrong when being routed to the reliefs, you will very rarely be routed along the Up Slow to Sudbury Junction (this is for Southern units), freight gets a wR at the end of the Platform and then drops on to the Willesden Relief lines there, and proceed along from there. Trains for Acton need to be routed to WM21 signal at Willesden No7 junction just before Acton Lane Reception lines, 6V49 is set to finish in line with Acton Lane Reception lines and therefore would not be able to get to Acton without a serious shunting and run rounds. The timetable really does need a overhaul on the routing, and I have to agree it feels very rushed DTG Alex DTG Matt
Can this thread be moved into the Player Feedback. I'd rather have all this whining put in there so I know where to avoid
It’s a good thing you commented then (rather than just ignore it), now you can be notified whenever someone adds to it
Just when I thought this route couldn't look any worse I just did a run in December without snow. It looks hideous They really didn't give a damn when creating this route, as the foliage at this time of year really shows zero coordination between placement or types of assets used. Just put anything, anywhere and done I joked about something in another thread but now I am bring serious. This route needs a remaster and the clown act known otherwise as Rivet need to be shown the door
I hate to bring up NYT again, but the parallel is so obvious. When the NYT route was released with a pathetic timetable, DTG's response was basically a flat " we have no plans to improve it ". I don't remember how long it took to change minds, but about 6 months later the new timetable by Joethefish emerged. No reason was ever given for the 180, but we didn't really care at that point. Unfortunately, something still had to give, and the freight layers were sadly sacrificed on the altar of " performance. " And a selectable " low fat " alternative TT was provided for those with less than stellar hardware. So, despite the official response being silent or negative, chances are good that the WCMLS timetable will be improved.........eventually.
Same here, support said to change the graphics to HD which a) look awful and b) the 4K option was fine in TSW4 :/
Yeah, it is happening the playstations 4 and 5 too, console problem. Beta test mean anything? Unreal.
Don't you have to turn off you console, take sim chip out, give it a wipe and turn it back on again? Sorry, I am getting confused with 3g technical support.
I think there’s just a memory leak somewhere. FTF is just pissing it away, the longer you stay on the route the worse the textures get. The only other route I’ve seen this problem on is Rosenheim, the incab decals would become pixelated. On this route things get bad pretty quick. The textures degrade to the point where you can’t even read station signs. I’d buy that it was just a not enough memory issue, but then switching to HD textures should solve the problem, but it doesn’t.
Yes, for now the only solution I found is saving and restarting from the save. I'm using Xbox series x but I must say the game is poorly optimized. I love the wcml route though, and with a bit of improvement could get even better.
I really like the WCML-South - coming out of Euston with an Electric Loco and a train of Mk3 coaches is really quite good. As you go flying thru Watford Jn, Milton Keynes, past the M1 to Rugby before branching off to Coventry, Birmingham International and New St.
I know I said the other day I would be back with more feedback, until now I haven't been back, and I think that says more than any actual feedback would. Even with the 390, the route has no lure for me to return to it and so I am just playing the same routes as before, but on the PC as the Xbox DLC won't download. I really did want to come here with a decent review of the route, but frankly, the timetable mixed with the appallingly low textures at some points, especially Euston area, and all other issues just have put me off from playing the route, full stop. Of course there are positives, such as the 350's sound, which seems really crisp, no popping or owt at all, but I can't enjoy this with all the negatives leant up against the positives. Not necessarily a disaster, but by no means can it be considered a successful route.
I think Pete (749006) was trying to be a bit ironic, while pointing out the TSC version is superior in almost every way.
You know what's the most backwards thing? The Class 390 layers onto Cathcart Circle and has the proper destination boards displaying 'London Euston' on the trains own PIS, and has off map destinations with all the stations showing down to London Euston... I sincerely thank Liam for making all the small details in Cathcart Circle, he has transformed it into hands down one of the best routes in the game, and is on par with Blackpool Branches for me, and shows the 390 is perfectly capable of working correctly. But how ridiculous it works properly on another route but not the WCML itself... Tell me this is a Rivet route, without telling me this is a Rivet route...
Saved Game caused issues back in 2022 and I thought I might have the same issue as back then? Guiding myself in gently I followed Rail Journeys and first full run down to Euston on 2K16. I saved at Harrow & Wealdstone. On approaches to Euston the proceeeding Milton Keynes - Euston service 2K14 is stuck at a Red Aspect. There appears to be a scheduled AI departure that has a Green Aspect but train info states it's reached it destination? Link to clip attached. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AmwBJN8sAl8OomXt0vXNh-8vJlZ6
Hmm, all the route and performance have been fine for me. No problems at all. I like the route. It is not perfect by any means but perfectly playable.
Even though I am not a big fan of British railways (I like them, but I prefer the German ones) I would have paid double or even triple to see the Euston-Liverpool (or Manchester) line. I hope one day someone will make something longer. With the Pendolino you fly and arrive immediately. I want to feel the journey more.
Just to point out, the Cathcart Timetable was Joe's work. You've got him to thank for the 390 being setup properly on the route. Liam did all the new scenery and materials to make it a beautiful route.
Sincerely appreciate each and everyone who contributed to it. My apologies as I didn't know, so sending my extended thanks to Joe too! Hopefully the Pendolino display boards look as good on WCML South soon...
Joe, it seems, is a rather sought-after commodity, and Matt has already stated that he is not available to work on WCML. I would not expect therefore any meaningful changes to the timetables in the near future, and DTG's deafening silence on the matter would appear to confirm this.
Well contractual arrangements notwithstanding, if Rivet were responsible it should be thrown back to them to sort out under pain of withholding part of the royalties or commission for working on the route.
When a company subcontracts out work then the company who is given the work must complete the work to get paid a certain amount then they get the rest of the money once the work has been signed off as complete, usually? Unless DTG have arranged a different deal, where Rivet cover the cost, but get a large cut of the DLC, we can guess, but we still stuck with a lemon.
I see a post from dtg saying if you save and exit before euston then resume, it should clear the memory so you can complete the service. Not ideal but better than nothing I guess.
Third rail clearly missing on Line B for the Up direction Overground trains going into Euston through Park Village tunnel: Cab view IRL from the other direction but you can clearly see third rail should be present:
Liam done a fantastic job with Cathcart and WSR both look amazing and no doubt GWE will be to once it's released these remaster routes are great i hope they keep coming i would like NTP to be remastered at some point one of my favourite routes
Is, uh,…Is your West Coast Main Line a bit of a no-goer, eh? Know whatahmean, know whatahmean, nudge nudge, know whatahmean, say no more?
The traction recordings all belong to me. And my word is all that matters because it holds my liability, especially in writing.
One thing I have noticed on the Lioness line that some of the station placement sdo camera for the drivers. One doesn't even face them. But the opposite platform and also that if underbreak and end up stopping near one then your stuck as the objects won't allow you to pass no matter any reset or reverse. Probably placement and platform clipping is the issue at hand. Also found one station foot bridge you go up and the. Fall straight through to under neath lol. Guessing a screw up on active blocks to walk on lol.
I find it rather strange that the 390 layers in to Cathcart. Does it run on CCL in real life? How fast can it go on such a short commuter route? I guess I'll give it a try.
Glasgow Central is the furthest northern point of the WCML with services from Euston terminating there, aswell as return services from Glasgow Central.
