I've just just started driving this route (and Mighty Seddin), and on neither of them can I load passengers. I've removed and reloaded the routes, but the problem remains. It the same on the included scenarios, and one I made as a test. Surely it can't just be me - so what am I doing wrong?
I have had Berlin - Leipzig for a few years and have no problems with loading passengers at any of the stations. This was a Quick Drive Are you using the Default trains that come with the route or something else?
When you say you reinstalled the route how did you remove it first? If its thru Steam just unticking in the Steam Client does not remove it - the route folder needs deleting
Try a Quick Drive and see if you can get the doors to open at the stations I presume you are opening them with the T key?
Yes I use the T key to load/unload passengers. I've never used Quick Drive, so I have no experience of it. However, I've tried it on Berlin-Leipzig and the stations all show as "stop at" rather that load/unload passengers. Trying other routes this seems to be way Quick Drives work, as all the stations show as "stop at", rather than load/unload. Have I misunderstood your suggestion?
With Quick Drive you pick any train and a start and end location. From when you start driving you get a clear run and it is up to you to stop at the stations you want or not. There is no time limit and you can finish a scenario when you want The pictures I made above in post #2 were at Luckenwald as I did a Quick Drive to Luckenwald to Wittenburg Try some thing similar and when you get to a station stop and push the T key to see if the doors work or not. I presume you are using a normal Keyboard? If they still don't work it might be a cast of raising a ticket with the Helpdesk.
OK - I tried that and the doors do not open. Just to check I tried the same train on the ECML and the doors did open. So, is it off to the helpdesk, or do you have any further thoughts?
Quick Drive scenarios do not have loading instructions but if you stop next to a platform that shows on the HUD in green, you should be able to open the doors. Sometimes there is a hiccup requiring you to be (or not be) in specific positions, I only remember it from Bristol-Exeter's scenarios. Also, some platforms are visual only, due to being closed or special occasions only. (Scenario authors can then "upgrade" them to proper ones. I played one on the NJCL adding extra stops, but you could make a case about Settle-Carlisle.)
Sorry, No, The Helpdesk might know something https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/reporting-a-technical-issue.31193/
Had a reply from the Helpdesk, who basically say that the route works OK for them, so they can't help. On looking at the route I can see that the stations don't have the little yellow balls along the platform. I seem to remember that these are something to do with picking up passengers. Does anyone have any idea as to how I can put the yellow balls back?
Are you using raw TSC - literally, no mods, no AP, no RWE, no TS Tools, nothing. First of all, rename your RailWorks folder within Steam (since you do have AP I assume you're at least a journeyman) and reinstall just this one add-on. Then try adding your things back to it. Something is tampering with your route. The obvious answer would be a workshop / clone route which doesn't have actual platforms, except that UK trains do stop, so. You may not think about it but it could help to show (screenshot) the menus just before you press Drive, as well as having F1 + F3 open during the scenario screenshot. Very, very rarely assets do conflict within Steam even, so you may even have some kind of that. Some examples for academics: Rascal & Cottonwood uses Cajon skies when installed solo (meaning it's fine). Also, Ohio Steel & friends have no polygon walls when installed solo. However, Pacific Surfliner has a missing storm script when installed solo (makes capturing lightning strikes super easy, they're just permanently there). Also, Pacific Surfliner is missing a weather component (spring distant overlay) because it's most important scenario is missing textures (only one out of the two).
If you are experienced in the editor you might be able to do it - I have had this game since 2013 and I would not be able to do that. Back to when you Reinstalled the route Along with deleting the route did you also Delete the \Assets\virtualTracks\Berlin-Leipzig folder? Regarding the lack of yellow balls I think they are an asset from the Kuju folder I presume you do own the European Loco and Asset Pack?
That's a good point, the route requires it. As well as the foliage pack. https://steamdb.info/sub/69864/apps/
Yes, but OP could be like me, I recently reinstalled Horseshoe Curve and marvelled at all the floating bridges near Johnstown. Bit of investigation revealed I need the foliage pack (APStation). Installed, bridges are complete. Of course there is still a milk bottle above Cresson Station (always been iirc) but anyway. (There are also bottles on Seebergbahn. And Spikee fixed station buildings on Castle Rock.)
Now you just made it pers... professional! Follow the line of the logo, headlight... above the loco. Just start the free roam at Cresson. I wonder why, but I ended up with this weather in a Seebergbahn QD, possibly an interaction with the previous scenario (above): And here is the bottle, just out of Brechte: I am lazy to set up but I captured missing textures on Pacific Surfliner, I believe in winter, I saw it next to a fence but I suspect it's the 2D bush line. I also noticed at least one on Donner Pass in a crossing. If you fly around a lot, looking for photos, you'll eventually notice them While I have a minimalist installation now, I observed all (four) of these on my previous rig, with pretty much everything installed. The one that is different is the black blocks of terrain on Pacific Surfliner (spring) and the missing / failing weather (lightning) script (scenario 5). The latter allows quite funny shots:
No I'm not using a raw version of TSC. If no other solution comes up, I might install a clean version as you suggest. I've attached some screenshots below (above?).
There is no milk bottle if the route is correctly installed Andras. As you have written above, you didn't have some dependencies installed. Horseshoe Curve Seebergbahn DTG may have a few missing winter textures on a few routes (Inselbahn, Hudson Line and Pacific Surfliner footbridge and lofts), but assets are all there, so no milk bottles. You may notice that "milk bottle" on your HSC screenshot is flat, and not a 3D object which the missing asset milk bottle is. There's something else that is / was wrong when you took that shoot.
Thanks. The route name and image is a bit suspicious to me, being 3rd party after all, but have to wait for someone who owns it. It's fresh and crispy, captured just for you Could be an old asset from old RS/RW times that I don't own. RouteProperties has 6 blueprint entries but the 3rd is empty. Could be Kuju/RailSimulator (EU) based on its sequence.
It just needs the USLAP and APStation pack in addition to its own RSC\HorseshoeCurve. There is nothing missing, I'm not trying to fool you. And the APStation (24086) pack is bundled with HSC, not sure how it went missing for you. I mean I'm calling out DTG on errors, but this is definitely on your end. Trust me bro.
I know, you're not a meanie What I mean it's possible that there is a specific file within these folders, only installed for a specific DLC. By the way, my HSC doesn't seem to require ELAP (it is installed). Edited this down to derail this thread less... BlueprintSet 242048072: RSC / HorseshoeCurve BlueprintSet 242048080: Kuju / RailSimulatorCore BlueprintSet 242048088 (empty) BlueprintSet 242048096: Kuju / RailSimulatorUS BlueprintSet 242048104: RSDL / Foliage01 BlueprintSet 242048112: RSC / APStation If there is a way to pinpoint that missing stuff, such as with LogMate, I might do it for science. APStation: It's a separate app in the DLC list (RailWorks AssetPack01). I started out with literally two items, ELAP and ECML, and then added HSC. Learned in the process that I should always check RouteProperties and SteamDb pack. (The whole derail is effectively, how can Tim figure out, where did the yellow balls go.)
TSTools will tell you what's missing. Yes, the ELAP is not required (it was Core I confused which is given in the preload though not necessary, as it's the only asset folder that's always loaded anyway.) But like with Seebergbahn, I cannot see any milk bottles, and that HSC screenshot is a real mistery with that flat milk bottle.
I've deleted all the folders you suggested, and then deleted the route by unticking and then then ticking the DLC in steam. However, I still can't pick up passengers.
