Been having a bit of free roam fun at Steamtown Carnforth trundling up and down the demonstration line with the Red Jubilee, although it's a bit more tricky setting up routes out of the depot roads.

Also did a quick Pacer run from Lancaster to Carnforth and a quick 47 run from Kingmoor to Carlisle.

I doubt it. For one the line isn't electrified so I struggle to see how there would be any correlation. And for two, the route is already pushing the limits of available system resources already, adding yet another branch which is even longer than Morecambe would only make that even worse, the same goes for the extra industrial line south of Morecambe. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that both of these lines were in fact developed and then cut for that very reason.

Taking a 12-car single loco 47 the full way from Preston to Carlisle.. wow, it could’ve stalled if I’d had an adverse signal before Tebay. By Shap the train had slowed to 50~mph (from around 90mph) and still on full throttle. Think I’ll take a double header next time!

The line light will come back on when you're out of the Neutral Section.

I've seen a lot of people post a lot of amazing details in this route, so just to throw in my own which I don't think anyone else has mentioned so far. JT, among the several Class 08 variants, threw in an entirely unique 08 caked in lime dust just for a single unique and satisfyingly long shunting service at Hardendale.
Hats off to everything that they have accomplished here. Not only the longest UK route, but probably the longest heavily detailed route overall and one of if not the single best one to date.

Also - the neutral section is not very long at all - it's just there to separate electrical sectors after all. You can see the insulation sections on the catenerary wires but most helpfully the APC track magnets are very easy to see; pass the second set and you're done.

The PDF someone posted here a few posts back is very instructive for further details starting on page 49.

Yes the detail of this route is really incredible. Some players reported performance issues, but beside the common tsw microstutters, on my pc its running very smooth on fps.
The 3 tsw 5 core routes have way more impact on the fps (on rainy weather or during sunset), and on those routes its the first time i noticed my 15 years old machine struggles a bit.

But not with blackpool branches or wcmlos.

With the way this route is made, and with the amount of attention to detail in areas, is it any wonder this route will perform less than others.? I could see this happening

Although not sound related I found that removing the TSW Lighting mod by on TSW community stopped the frame rate dipping in busier areas.

Over all my experience of the route is very positive, although seeing two Wolf of Badenochs at Carlisle was to be expected as am sure its 42 diagrams for 35 engines..

    Bring on the 86s!!

Drove a liner last night northbound with a single 87 was easily able to tackle the gradients. Held outside Carlisle while a variety of moves took place. Can't think of much to comment on negatively. In comparison to some other routes this will be revisited time and time again.

Had my first run yesterday. I chose the 1S50 06:53 Preston to Glasgow Central, with the 47. My main intention was to recky the neutral sections on the north-bound route in a loco I am familiar with.
Beautiful scenery and detail, a few FPS dropped near Carlisle but no worse than London Vic on BML.
It was a real joy to let the Brush have its head and fly along for decent distances at max speed, with a good perception of that speed.
Tonight is the next course, the 87!

I love how realistic the snow looks covering the top of the trains also the rain seeing puddles in fields and other places be good if it was like that on every route also I've had very few stutters the route runs quite smoothly on my series x hats off to Just Trains on a phenomenal route

Has anyone else experienced some red like issues? Currently stuck outside Preston with nothing moving.
I thought we were long past this issue…

Feel like I’m getting imposter syndrome every time I drive the Class 87 - don’t *really* know what I’m doing but manage to muddle through it anyway haha.

If you are playing the first Journey leg then you may find if running late 6V75 gets in front of you then occupies the same platform at Preston. Someone reported it does eventually move off although I just used the 2D map and deleted it. Despite throwing me out the driver’s chair and dire warnings about failing the Journey, I was then able to move forward into the station and finish the run including getting ticked as complete.

1 more scenario left to complete before I can get the route's mastery reward and well the scenario Tap Changer is stressful in a good way. Pitch black, snowy, driving right behind a slow express and causes me to struggle to stop perfectly at intermediate stations by far my most favorite scenario ever in tsw.

Out of interest, why do you remove it entirely instead of trying a lower pre-set?

That Freightliner scenario was pretty good too, normally I wouldn’t even touch a scenario so long but the 87 kept it interesting. I miss judged my braking at one point and almost Spaded though IMG_2716.jpeg

That wasn't actually the one I was referring to. I was referring to the PDF here on post 1493 which contains a real life driver's manual.

    This direct link might work

Unsurprisingly this is a great route and I especially love driving the Class 87. The loco is really well done and it's great to see the engine room being modeled and accessible as well. I think it should be a little easier for it to get wheelslip, but overall, the driving experience is very fun and engaging. I like the shunt services that can be done after finishing a normal service. It really adds to the variety of operations for the route and 87. I welcome the livery variations and rolling stock included as well. The amount of variation included in the pack is a rarity for TSW DLC's.

I assumed the class 40 would have a relatively low chance off subbing in, but I got to see three of them parked outside Carlisle on my first run lol.

I still might try a lower, I dropped down to High and then removed it. Was running out of time before having to shut down for the night so wasn't able to keep trying new ones loading up etc

Remember that if you predominately use say, Ultra, but find it is too much on a given route you can open the medium GodMode.sav with notepad and copy and paste the medium settings to override the Ultra numbers for a specific route. It can easily be mix and match. HTH.

Off to top of my head it's:
    South of Carlisle
    North of Penrith
    Tebay
    South of Oxenholme
    South of Morecambe North Junction
    In between Lancaster and Preston

Thanks for all the positive reviews.
They convinced me to buy this DLC and so far, I too, haven't been disappointed.
JT set the new standard, hopefully, other dev's will try to match.

I wonder if the "flange lubricator" ;) which is/ was near Scout green I think is modelled?
Seen a few steam tours slip, or briefly shut off on that, probably making another record climb of Shap unlikely, especially with the diesel bankers.

Quite simply. Amazing. Nothing more to say about this route and the work JT have put in. They set a high bar with Blackpool and they cleared it with this one.

I have Flying Scotsman and other steam locomotives but none seem to be layering in or appearing in the timetable? I'm on PS5.

Also, just little details I've noticed I'm really impressed with. The newest one is the GEC logo above the brake and utility pipes of the Class 87.

I love as you drive alongside the M6 there's the large blue motorway mileage signs with actual accurate detail on them, just as in real life.. that's next level scenery detail, such a small tiny thing but massively enhances immersion and authenticity!

Loving the route and detail, but my X Box Series S hasn't managed to let me drive from end to end without crashing and dumping me out of the game.
