No doubt it will be if it's done by DTG!

Also excited for this, a nice little non London and self contained commuter route.

Class 150 and Class 153....disappointed if only one modern DMU would have been inserted

Very much looking forward to this. Especially having the two units. I like these network routes. Would have liked to have gone a bit further into the Valleys but still excited for this route.

This wasn't originally going to be on my radar but with the 150 it might well be now

Excellent choice for the TFW route in regards to rolling stock, they have layering potential on almost all of their Network.

Redoing the 150 is also great to see, one of my favourite trains & look forward to getting a decent one. The 153 is also great to see (just the 156 to go now DTG ;)).

Now I’m getting ahead of myself a little here, but I’d really love to see livery packs come out for all 3 sprinters, considering that they’re shared between a fair few TOC’s.

Will it be a new 150/2 or rebuilt from Rivet? I'm looking forward to the Dogbox as well.

Rivets 150 has a superb model, there is nothing wrong with that.

The model is superb. My main issue is that it doesn't connect to anything else

To be honest for all of Rivets faults and as one of their biggest critics myself, I've always said that their 3D modelling of is really good... It's one of their only strong points at the moment.

The 385, 150, 170... Really nicely modelled. So even if the 150 is ported across and updated I wouldn't have an issue with it. Just needs the physics and sound done properly with a better sound mix. Plenty of 150 recordings already floating about, including AP I believe.

Oh absolutely, in total agreement. My main request if it is the Rivet model that it connects to other forms of rolling stock, but with the 153 added it's highly likely. Personally I can't wait to make a 150/158 combo lol.

The moment you have a network, it becomes very complex to make. It's multiple lines and timetables to manage along with all the other welsh stuff. Limited budget and time. If they made a line longer, they might have had to cut another line entirely to make up for the dev cost

Considering dtg is remaking the whole dmu anyway to tfw specs, it makes sense to remake it rather than copying and pasting rivets 150

It's more than one route and I believe has complete services, not just to Cardiff bay.

Phew, British rail fans are getting pampered this month, that's for sure :D
While it's not quite my cup of tea, it definitely reads and looks impressive! The route seems more like a bundle of routes, that's a thing I'd like to see more of in the future.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for more German news during the upcoming days ;)

Great news on the 150/2 and 153. While Cardiff City will be a small route the trains have massive scope to be used elsewhere on the network and covering a large time period. The 153 could also be backdated to the Western Provincial (BR) 155’s they were converted from. And as one of my former railway jobs was as a Provincial Controller in the old BR Control at Swindon and later as Wales & West/ATW Duty Control Shift Manager these things are close to my heart.

Absolutely massive and I hope there are plans to retrofit these and deploy on a remastered WCL.

The 153 has different cab layouts on either end, I've wondered if they've modelled it right.

Going by the WIP screenshots showing both cab ends, it looks like they have Cardiff-Class153-WM-2.jpg Cardiff-Class153-WM-1.jpg

I had the privilege of an official cab ride in a 153 once. Those small cabs really are tiny, almost like getting in the cockpit of a fighter jet! One thing the simulated version won’t offer is that rank fibreglass smell they all had at the modified end.

It would definitely do Rivet / West Cornwall a really big favour. It would probably bring WCL up from it's spot among the worst in the game.

The original Regional Railways philosophy was to deploy on rural services such as Central Wales or as strengthening units on overcrowded two car workings. Unfortunately that didn’t last very long and they were soon being diagrammed on main line workings which a few years back would have been a three car Class 104 or Class 120 or, in the case of Swansea to Pembroke or Milford Haven, a 5 coach loco hauled set.

And the 153’s were only really spawned because of the huge embarrassment the Western Provincial 155’s had become, constant mechanical and electrical faults and the highest frequency of door open in traffic incidents. The rework into single cars included an overhaul to try and eliminate said faults. The first unit to be converted was 155304, on a low loader to Kilmarnock, having sat idle at Canton for months after hitting a tree near Bath during the foul winter of 1990.

I must say I do particularly enjoy reading your posts. I think hearing from former and present "railway" people help to bring some of the content to life.

I don't think the Rivet one is bad. Most people agree that Rivet didn't screw up on that at lleast.
Although to be fair, to me if you've seen one 150 series you've seen them all.
They all drive the same just different liveries and seat colors.

The 150 on WCL is poor quality in terms of sounds and how it plays, so Dovetail's own version - with a version wearing the RR livery - would do WCL a favour assuming Dovetail do it justice.

I mean... I've played it many times. It's fine. Difference of opinion I suppose. The route itself could use some work, especially around the coast, and the timetable is meh, but the 150 itself is fair. *shrugs*
Granted the 158 is better graphically but the 150 isn't bad.

Ugh classic DTG jump on the VR fad 5 years after its peak.

Will we maybe get a TOD4 update for Harlem route, at least?

Nine days of reveals mentioned now, so l am expecting Manchester Commuter within the last five, with hopefully a pre Christmas release. That would make my Christmas, as l would buy it on both Xbox and Steam!

Yeah me too. I can’t help but feel it’s going to be a major disappointment. Im still guessing it’s TSW on IPhone / Android… which if it is they could have revealed that before the 20th. I don’t think it’s much of a BIG surprise for most of us on here if this is what the grand reveal is… I could be wrong though. Maybe everyone does want to see that and if so I apologise haha I’m just assuming we want to see it being something for TSW5.

Or DTG are going to do TRAM SIM WORLD :D
