Is there a foolproof way to set the editor up to simulate a timetable.

I’m doing what I recall doing from the TSW4 editor, but it seems to set the time at rand, rather that setting it to start at midnight.

Also, is there any way to force electric trains into/out of Portals when there is no electrification set up on the last bit of track.

What do you have set in the Timetable Defaults tab, under Simulation Start Time? I've noticed it can start setting odd timings if you don't use UTC time-coordinates, but if I set it to, say, 2002.07.01-00.00.00 +0000 (which triggers me because July 1st would normally be in BST, and therefore +0100, not +0000), it does seem to actually start simulating the timetable at midnight, when I look at the log.

If you find this out, please let me know too! I've been wrestling with the District East Ham and Upney portals on the Goblin Line for two days solid, and I'm about ready to commit hari kari!

Don’t know if you could duplicate the scenery tile, and then modify the track to make it electrified.
I do know that the last 100m of so of both of those lines outside the portals are missing the electric capability.

If you have God Mode and the wall remover enabled, you can walk / drive to there and see the missing electrification.

Same with the connection between Willesden and Mildmay Line on WCMLS, so you can’t add the 378s in as AI.

I’m trying to set up a Cross City timetable with 350s etc in, and seem to recall that when I tried last year, some electrics worked with the Soho portal, and some didn’t - and the first services I’m adding are the Chase Line ones, which operate that way.

Next will hopefully be the Liverpool services, before attempting the Northampton/London ones.

Something I found in another post this evening about the portal problem: - Didn't Think I Would Be Able To Do This. - It's a bit hacky, but it worked for me.

TL;DR - In the Timetable Defaults, go to Path Finder Flags and de-select Consider Electrification Requirements from the dropdown.

It'll mean that everything in the timetable will ignore electrification needs, and that might conceivably have an impact on some automatic routing decisions the dispatcher makes, but worst-case, you can always waypoint those out of harm's way. It's not an ideal solution, but until I find out for sure that the problem is down to the original route construction (and thus waiting on DTG or the relevant developer to fix), it'll do for me, for now.
