I had set the route on the '9' map screen from the platform just before the signal but I had come from Crewe engine shed to begin off with which does have manual junctions. I actually derailed at the point i touched the crossing within the circle (2). I had gone through the point just before it already

When Spawning Flying Scotsman I was hoping to have 10 Mk2 coaches as well as the 8 that comes with it would it be possible to update the pack so I can run with the 10 coaches?

Well this really has to be the most absurd loco in TSW for steam physics!

Doing the Re-record speed run, I already got it over 100MPH on the 1 in 200 down gradient before Newark. So I’m thrashing it along in 40% cutoff with 100% regulator with the safety valves blowing off merrily. At those sort of settings the boiler pressure should be depleting rapidly and the fire going out the chimney. And all this achieved without actually consuming a single ounce of coal or pint of water of course.

Also agree. The tender water level doesnt depleet either and there is no option of adding coal to the firebox which is a shame. There are also no headboards to use which would be a great feature.

AWS still doesn’t clear. Sound is still unusual, especially when coasting. Water gauge doesn’t move. Only one chimney works and headcodes appear to be incorrect when using the loco in reverse.

Hmmm this certainly doesn’t feel like a €15,99 product.

None of the TSW steam locos consume coal and water, nor does the firebox temperature or bulk change. It’s just more evident on Flying Junkheap because there is a water gauge on the tender. These are at best Hornby Dublo style steam outline locos with rudimentary physics and a synthsmoke unit fitted.

Why is it that the old game TSC can get it right, yet the new game that in theory should smash the physics of TSC can't. Have the staff at dtg got dementia?

They probably never wanted to do steam in the first place, knowing full well that Simugraph would struggle. Then along came Paul Jackson’s vanity project and they had to bodge something together as best they could.

Your probably right vern. This is why sos and pf seem like abandonware. Although both routes could easily be revived with some diesel traction. Then classic diesels seem to be abandoned at this stage also.

Apart from JT who still see a market for older stock. Was hoping ap would have had something in the works by now.

So I did finally pick this one up in the Xbox sale and in short I'm glad I paid what I did. I'm sure this issue will reiterate what has been said on previous pages.

The big glaring issue with FS is that If you try to drive the locomotive like you get told in the tutorial you quickly find you have no power to accelerate. It tells you to reduce cut off to 30 and as you do that you physically see the power indicator on the HUD drop to 50/50 so you essentially stop gaining any speed. In order to keep taking power the cutoff needs to be around 45-60 which isn't where it should be. When you drive it this way (as you have to) driver assist tips flash up on the screen "reduce cutoff to save steam". Which really isn't user friendly and it's a shame to see this has never been adjusted.

Despite this I am actually enjoying driving it though, the ECML runs are a little dreary. But having run the first leg of the ECW railtour from Lewes to Newhaven with the 33 on the back it was quite an enjoyable run (and you get to drive the 33 back to Brighton afterwards)! The model looks great and the sounds are good enough.

At £5 it's definitely well worth getting, but I wouldn't pay full price with where steam physics were left. Definitely a missed opportunity from DTG this one!
