As I said yesterday, take your time with liveries. Do one at a time, as I know you have a lot of different liveries in the works at the minute (Rail 200 or not). Slow and steady wins the race!

Hello, cheers again Jplayz. It’s good that you do the same. Depends on the style we are trying to do.
Art is Art but doing what we are on TSW could be considered Graphic Design. So a design that works in the real world.

What graphics we design or style applied can be what is deemed necessary. I’m playing around with a few colours that may not always be used on a livery. So bright bold funky colours done like 66069 “Pinky” and why it’s using bold colours.
Where as with the 43s I’m doing they need to be bright but also quite tasteful as not to look to cheesy looking.

So any colour is a go for me, it’s just finding what colours work with the theme or style of livery.
Be a elegant design or something vibrant.

Yes I took a break, thanks and don’t worry about me posting or working on liveries. I’m not under any pressure or place on obligation myself to create work all night long. It’s just a new routine I’ve slotted into.
Work on them at night, post in the morning for any feedback. Then later on read up then taking it from there. Ie make any necessary adjustments later on that same night.

And repeat,(A Routine) my routine was interrupted thus why I went a bit funny.
Liveries ain’t the issues its the outside situations I have no control of. So I must limit myself or take too much time being involved with what ever that outside situation maybe.
Why I don’t go out really. Better for me and most certainly better for everyone else. You and the community.
To do what I can when I can, by hopefully adding something constructive rather than be here in a negative mood.

So if I’m a little short on those type of past comments left by you and TG08 then I’m just moving on passed something that would normally keep me down. The negativity of others in the world as like I say I have no control of.

I must move on,,,,,,so yes colours are important and by working on a PINK livery then I have to say by doing that it lifted my spirits.
Plus brought some memories back of Pinky and Perky There was even Bill and Ben the Flower Pot Men.
No theme based around these TV Shows just the names familiar as a child placing in a design.
There’s good past and bad past, I’m not trying it dwell on the latter.

Thanks again I’m gonna release these then if your happy for me too. Otherwise they will be backing up on top of the other stuff held back such as the GBRf 66s. I just want to check any livery related to Railway 200 with you first, just in case you had any future ideas.

And yes I think my DM will explain a lot. So I’m all good, I will take it slow but my creative mind never stops.

What are your next steps?

So, my next steps are as follows:

• Testing 1Z01 to make sure it is completable, and to make sure the AI works as planned,
• Adding the exhibits to Wembley Yard, when I get more liveries from community members (other than Lee/JPlayz),
• Re-test the scenario to make sure the exhibits are placed properly,
• If successful, then that's 1Z01 finished! 1 down, 1 to go!

Then, it is onto Scenario 2, where the same process as 1Z01 applies.


I thought you all would appreciate this update. Changelog has been updated as well .

Hello folks only me.

Right I feel due to a few personal issues that has interfered slightly with my involvement in this project it has impacted the quality of content for user of the community. So I would like to apologise for the hick up and as a Team pick things up.
Here tho I am sure the guys are still at it regardless of my personal situations.

So moving on as you may know if following this thread I have been working on the Class 37 and now the 08 that is completed.
I feel I can not do anymore to improve there appearance or quality.

I'll get some links up as soon as I can I'm just adding some extra details to the 390 (nameplate + Rail 200 logos)

 

Last few with a little more information about there appearance at the end

I will start with 37 501 “Teesside Steelmaster” as it is standard to the original livery with the additional Railway 200 logo, and BR logo on the nose. Basically not a fictional livery as is the case with the Class 08 Shunter, 08 200.
Now with 08 200 I wanted to relax when making this one, I’ve always like working on the 08s.

So for me to do this as a fan of rail and liveries I wanted to involve my fictional company GRLON or HOOKHAUL.
My own fictitious company celebrating Rail 200 as any other company entity would.

As you can see they work alongside Railway 200 logo and by adding my company logos is to add realism without using any main TOCS.
Again personally I think they work and wouldn’t know the difference if a user knew it was a fictional, kinda play role stuff.
I’m the CEO and OWNER of my own little company be fictional in nature yes, yet I can still I can still add an element of role playing.

And as a CEO I would like my company to participate in the event.
This is why we here at HOOKHAUL Group and GRLON a parent company are working on a few surprise for Fans of our brand and to support Railway 200. And so are proud to announce the refurbished 08 200 by our in house design team and paint shop TSLP.

It just for effect and immersive experience it’s not real, it’s just for a little fun.
Now for the reference to being refurbished then I have added this to the 08 and has a real purpose.
That being to protect my work in case anyone chooses to feature them as been the case in the past on YT.
So rather than banging my name on it again I have tried to do it in way that suggests it’s real where it’s all just for fun, and to do that have introduced a little sign on the 08 to let fans know who refurbish her. Me (TSLP) And to protect the livery.

As I say it’s just for fun really but I did come up with fictional companies to make life easier when it comes to some creative freedom.
Like I have tried to do with 08 200, keep some of the colours of GRLON and then add the Rail 200 theme.
Which has been flipped so different colour combinations used either side. A little different, something quite modern as its very popular in car livery design.
I have also added some historical references because the 08 and it variants have served BR and many many other small outfits well and still do on heritage lines and for private owners. It’s loved by Fans and so why not add it to the event in some way if it is cherished by rail fans.

Again as a creator and a supporter of making Rail 200 a fun experience for all, and as a CEO I felt by having the 08 refurbished it would be honour to provide that for our supporters of HH Group and any of its parent companies.

This is for you.
Have fun folks as that’s what it’s all about and what I am trying to add here even tho it’s mostly fiction.
So yes I will be uploading the 08 later today with the 37 later tomorrow. Gonna take her for a drive get some tasty photos for you.

If I may I would like to bring up your mention of seeing other liveries. I too agree with that sentiment in wanting to see more work created by the community for the community. Yes I am actively creating or contributing content as the thread creator but that’s not the point of the thread.

It’s for the community that are making liveries like myself to be also be involved to help make Rail 200 bigger and better for all.
And this is why I’d love to see more work or liveries shared here.

To see all the amazing work CC user create and to have the opportunity for a user’s creation to be used in what we the Team originally wanted from all this.

3 Members with the same passion to celebrate Rail 200 and in order to create something for all by having you the community involved.
We can’t do it without your support or make this once in a lifetime opportunity fantastic for all.

I appreciate it all Lee. It has been a long slog to get this over the line to be honest. However, it is done now. All it needs is some more vigorous testing to make sure it is absolutely perfect before any R200 exhibits are added to Wembley Yard .

Just want to say thank you as the CEO of the HOOKHAUL Group. It means at lot to my company and it’s such a delight for us to be involved.
I have to thank TSLP for his work on 08 200 and is a key member of the HOOKHAUL Group lol.

Haha, enough of all that. I’m just glad you like them and if you use you use, I get my pleasure from making them and see others using them.
It’s a fictional livery so may not always do well, but adding some realism or role playing elements may add fun.
And that’s what is all about, messing around and having some fun.

If that’s what 08 or anything else I do is for. A bit of fun with a touch of seriousness to it.
To make it different yet respect any other TM or brands.

GRLON,, The G is for Gricer, lovers of Trains. So there is meaning behind the name too.

Just thought I’d let you know that HH or HOOKHAUL was one of my first attempts at my own fictional company back in 2019.
I even won these for a celebratory event.

I came 4th or 5th and then I received these. The best day of my life and why I keep them close to remember the good times.
First HOOKHAUL livery that I made for the event.

Old work. So yes HOOKHAUL has been around for some time, and as you can see progressed into what I am doing today.

The fictional brand helped me achieve some success if relatively small in nature. But as I say it meant the world and still does.
So I do cherish HOOKHAUL.

Right I’ll go as it’s not completely Rail 200 related yet does have some reference to 08 200.
AND NO I DO NOT OR HAVE I EVER WORKED FOR DTG. Someone thought I did once because I have these you see, so just clearing any possible confusions.

Wow this sounds like it'll be an interesting scenario Regarding the liveries, I'm not so sure on the LNWR liveries for the 350 as there's so many, but for the 150, I'd say SR's 150 just because of how realistic it looks (coming from someone who lives on the Marston Vale line).

Good morning everyone. I have now added some screenshots in for the Tring-Willesden part of the scenario. Enjoy!

NOTE: The final screenshot may look blurrier than the others, this is called Z-Fighting. This is a route issue, not a scenario issue. It occurs with (and without custom liveries) within the scenario. However, it is a known issue, and DTG are trying to improve memory optimisation on routes including West Coast Main Line South, amongst others.

Thanks for doing this, I think I know how to add a direct link to my main TSLP page where all my work is, which is around 220 odd liveries.
But not a individual one such a TSLP205.

So again thank you so so much. I’m not tech savvy, more like an Old Fashioned guy.

Has SR done anything away from the normal side of TOCs tho?. Would it even be advantageous to speak to them.
As again I don’t sit here all day following what others do. I don’t even check my own work never mind others on CC.

So from my perspective but not necessarily for this specific scenario but the other I had in mind, then that was about being creative with ideas from Fans of Railway 200. Not necessarily standard or Railway 200 liveries seen from TOCs.

More of a variety of different classes and styles of liveries from across the board. Again tho this is from my perspective for the end scenario.
Things possibly like we have seen from work I have currently been sharing. And also like what your is working on.

Basically the fun side of what can be if we see liveries roll in, which as we have touched upon on TG08 thread haven’t seen unfortunately.
And on that subject I hope it improves on that front going forward.
I understand TG08 will need certain work for scenarios yet the Team and Project needs more fun playful and serious designed liveries to be seen.

So if SR work is being used (standard liveries or Railway 200 liveries from TOCs) now, is SR up for discussion as TG08 is using SR’s work?. And would SR like to do something different for the event. It makes sense if we all not only looking for the fun side of work by the community but the serious quality side. Be that Real or Fictional work.

The question to ask SR would be, does He even do creative fictional work?.
I can’t answer that fully. Don’t know them or ever spoken to them. To be fair seem quite quiet and keeps away from much public attention.
Could be wrong tho as I say don’t know SR.

As I say I just feel if SR’s work is being used a lot then would it be worth discussing things further with them.
Even out of curtesy for the work SR does.

Until then I feel the community are the ones that can make a difference going forward.
Be with either what TG08 is specifically looking for in a Class type or theme. Or what I am looking for in terms of creative ideas from the community. The fun side and their involvement in making this project a success for all directly related or as contributors in this project.

Remember about aiming for perfection. It’s about everything working is harmony.
For that we need balance and right now it’s out of balance because we are short of the communities creative works.
That’s completely out of my control, and why all along I said for this to be a success we need the community to be involved.

I feel we are at a crucial stage and I hope even tho work my not be seen directly on here then it is out there somewhere.
And so to regain some control over situation I guess if users are not coming to us, then I or we may have to look else where.
Which just leaves CC, which could mean TG08 is limited and so am I in what I am looking for.

The creative side to something we all play. Creators Club. So let’s Create. Creativity comes from the imagination.
Doing some creative even inspirational for others, you know this for yourself

It can be fun if you just put your mind to it, sometimes it some need a little more encouragement.
Again something else I’m sure you’ll agree with.

I've been out for most of the day so only just seen this. I believe SR's liveries have been used in mods in the past so if you happen to know Jetwash, he may know. But don't quote me on that as again I'm not sure to what extent.

There are two sides of the coin here. For 1Z01 specifically (and maybe Scenario 2, but it is less important than in 1Z01), I need real-life liveries for the AI. This is something that wouldn't detract from the actual event side of it . However, on the flip side, I do agree with you in regards to being creative and thinking outside the box for the R200 exhibits though. It's just that there is not a lot of chatter from the community towards us to be honest, as we have already discussed...

Yes. I think those are some good points to make. I just don't want the scenario to be just a billboard for your (and JPlayz's) work, and neither do you (or JPlayz) to be honest. We've done the best that we can to involve the community, but it has just been a bit slow on that front at the minute.

His liveries have always been to a high(er) standard. I'm unsure if he does fictional work though. I see your point though. I think like me, he tends to sway towards real-life liveries, as those tend to do well for him.

We're doing the best that we can to get the community involved. We might have had a few people now and again, but there hasn't really been anything outside of yourself (and JPlayz) creating content for this project. This is not what we have hoped for, but chin up, I'm sure there might be some people that might want to get involved in the near future. We can only hope .

Yeah. We find ourselves in a difficult situation at the minute. That's why I have looked to CC to get the liveries I already have, and probably will continue to do so (at this rate). Very unfortunate I know, but it is outwith the team's control, so unless at least some community members want to get involved, then that'll be the way it goes...

Agreed. We have said before that failure is not an option here. We must push though and get this done, regardless of how long it takes to get any liveries from anyone who is willing to participate in this project with us .

First of all, having read through the thread, this is awesome! It is incredible the lengths you've gone to to make this happen.

I understand this event to be a Creator's Club scenario made by TrainGeek08 that compiles all of the liveries into an exhibition of sorts on the West Coast Mainline, where you take a train full of Rail200 liveries and drive past other AI trains with Rail200 liveries. Have I understood correctly?

I also understand to contribute, we need to make a livery. Not all trains need to use the Rail 200 logo, but it would be nice if they did. If we are to make a livery with the Rail 200 logo, we should sign up to the toolkit terms and conditions on the Rail 200 website. Have I understood correctly?

I understand that this was originally meant to be a charity event to raise money for something, but that fell through after the dozen companies that got contacted ignored Rigsby. Have I understood this correctly?

Is there a list of what has been made, what needs making, what trains should be avoided and what's being made or are all the pictures I've seen in this thread everything that's been made so far?

Are we limited to UK rolling stock?

That's all I can think of so far; I'll post more questions if I remember/think of them.

 

Yes and no. Yes in the sense that it is a CC scenario taking passengers down to the Rail 200 event in Wembley Yard from Crewe (Milton Keynes Central), but no in the sense that it will be full of AI with R200 liveries on. The AI is based off of the real-life timetable, with normal liveries (AWC, LNWR, LO etc.). The only part of the scenario where any R200 branded trains will be featured is the end, when the player train passes Wembley Yard on the relief lines heading towards the scenario end point (Willesden Brent Siding 8). That would mean that most (if not all) of the liveries should be visible as you go past the yard.

However, I will make another scenario set within Wembley Yard, where you can see the exhibits in a lot more detail as if it was an event. This hasn't been created/planned yet, as I am still finishing the final testing stages of the first scenario.

Hope this helps your understanding of my side of the project. I'm sure Lee and JPlayz can answer any of your questions which relate to their side of the project .

Thought I'd chip in here. I believe as it's rail 200, it should be UK stock only, but I think Lee is probably the only one who can properly answer as it was his original idea. Regarding livery creations, TG08 has already posted what he needs for his upcoming scenario so I would check that and any future scenario related updates to help with this.

That's perfectly fine - UK it is.

It seems, however, that I will be unable to contribute, since the only routes I have from the list are the East Coast Mainline and the Great Western Express, and those appear to have been finished already. I'm so sorry about this. The only stretch of the West Coast Mainline I own runs from Liverpool Lime Street to Crewe, so I don't have the rolling stock to help with the 87 and mk3s, 350, 390, or the 150.

 

No worries. You know, you could always do what me and Lee are doing by creating fictional liveries. That way, you'd still be contributing. If you still wanted to that is

 

That's just for the AI. You can create a (R200-themed) fictional livery on something from ECML or GWE if you still want to contribute in some way . Don’t worry (about not having the DLC) though .

Does it need to bear the Rail 200 logo? If so, do I need to sign those Terms and Conditions, because I think Lee doesn't want us to, but I may have misunderstood.

 

You can still use Rail 200 branding. To use this, it is highly recommended that you do sign the agreement just so you have some cover. Lee sent it to me so I'll just forward it on here. Bear with me....

 

Right. I'll try something tomorrow and see if anything inspiring comes to mind, but I'm not very good at coming up with original ideas (haven't thought of any for years) so I can't promise anything.

 

Speaking as an artist rather than a CC content creator, it took me a while to do it. I mean look at my upcoming livery I'll be uploading soon. Inspiration always helps. Just write down some ideas and see where it takes you. You never know, you may even be good at it

Right it’s been a long day.

I just wanted to share these as its Railway 200 related. A little competition between me and Jplayz.
Only a few photos as needs some attention to the logos with some additional text.
And also I want to apologise for not uploading 37 501. I said I would but been so busy and then found my self in a race

As always I will notify when these are completed and available on CC.
The 390 In APT livery for Rail 200 due to it’s connection to early BR experimental research for the APT E and the APT (Class 370) tilting system technology.

I will give more of an overview when this is completed and I’m not at the risk of upsetting anyone.

Again why I stay away at night, my moods can switch at any moment.
