Will it work as a passenger? Can we also look into animated gangways as a passenger? Toggle switch for ai physics? Any work around if not?

another question to DTG, will they add action points based on how fast you stop or accelerate? maybe this could be implemented and calculated based on this new feature...
So when it says works on all content, do they mean all content for this route or all content in TSW? I sure hope its the latter.
Matt said the head away is really great with the 101 with the change of gears etc, which isn't on this new route.
The simulation now comes to the simulator, head movement could be done with even old games like BVE this was long before Rail Simulator managed it, there were bugs with it when it came; the screen would judder uncontrollably so this is probably why its taken so long to implement
This is fantastic news about head-sway. My most wanted feature. Also Journey mode for RSN and WSR. Nice update overall, and looking forward to the new route.
I hope they answer the original questions. I have a bad feeling it won’t apply to ai trains... which is the problem with animated gangways... really ruins the immersion as a passenger
When you ride as a passenger, physics are turned off for ai trains. They don’t move. But if you can manage to get the moving camera inside a passenger car of a train you’re driving you can see them move all about like they realistically should.
Does this mean that as I drive a train -- any train, evidently, my view of the cab and exterior will bobble about? This might well happen in the real world, but if so my brain would compensate for it -- but it doesn't seem that that could happen in a simulation such as TSW. If I'm correct about this, I certainly hope that head sway can be turned off. I'll know on Thursday, in either case.
Don't worry. If it turns out anything close to what we had in TS20xx, you'll almost certainly enjoy it. Your brain won't compensate for it, that's right, but that's kinda the point. Your train will feel more "weighty" as if those weightless pixels on the screen had mass and inertia to them.
Hi, I found a video on YouTube that shows a train sim with head sway. Just be aware that this video is 8 years old and that it seems very exaggerated in this video but just so we have an idea of what we can expect, and I honestly think it’s going to be something that adds a lot to driving on TSW. I’ll share it.
As an immersion boost its a very welcome addition and will greatly aid in the 'suspension of disbelief' that is inherent in transporting us into the experience.
It would be a bad move not to include the facility to disable it. Whether it's because people prefer it off or as a redundancy measure against any bugs that may appear with it, it's definitely sensible to include an option to disable it.
The whole head sway function is really making me want to go through all the routes and locomotives again. I’m in!
Usually, it's possible to call up the most recent stream. By the way, I didn't claim that it would play for you.
Link to yesterdays stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/519341014 From 02:09 he is playing TSW, but can't say I notice the head sway that much in the cab.
From the stream last night. Cab sway is more pronounced than the TS1 version, has been working in the DTG offices for a while now, is coming this week via a winter patch and will be there for all to see on the dtg stream on Weds 11/12
Looking forward to trying this but at the same time I'm also glad there is a way to switch it off just in case it's a bit too much of a change.
It’s making me curious how it’s going to work with different locomotives. When Matt said that he really enjoys driving the 101 with the head sway feature especially going around corners at high speeds has me so thrilled to try this out Thursday!!
Head sway, yay. Wasn’t expecting this at all today. Driving the 422 first and I think it makes driving so much more fun, I can’t wait to try out some of the other locomotives. What a great update! It makes driving so much more immersive. Instead of the old fixed camera the new head sway feature makes you feel like your inside this gigantic metal beast flying at 100mph. I highly recommend trying out a freight service on peninsula corridor, it works very well! I am so pleased with this so far and it really proves how something small can play a huge role! Very excited about this!!!
Yep I agree.....the locos were admittedly way too static before the update, its a small touch but adds alot to the immersion factor. Well done DTG
PS4 USA it went live about five hours ago. Really surprised we haven’t heard about it officially, it makes me wonder if it was supposed to release today because we usually get a post from Dmtri with the patch notes. Edit-Found this on Discord.
It also looks like we got the option to Re-center on yourself when looking at the route map which will come in handy!
