    Frankly just the exploding costs of PC hardware alone should justify its inclusion. Stuff like Crucial exiting the consumer market is going to be making the idea of maintaining a top of the line gaming PC to get acceptable performance in TSW out of the question for many regular people.

    Will there be any decent PC hardware left for us plebs soon, or will it all be sold to the tech bro billionaires for their AI fantasies?

    I hope we won't have to ask ourselves this question... but as for food...

    Here in France we've had anti-theft devices on meat for quite some time...

    :(

    To be honest, I'm beginning to think there won't even be a tsw7. Metro Rivals has clearly taken priority, (Even the hecking tsw loading screens have Metro Rivals on them). Sure they'll say "oh they're separate teams", but that doesn't inspire much confidence they are of equal importance. How many people actually work on tsw still and haven't been transferred over? Sure there's no way to know that, but I suspect it can't be many. Look at the December roadmap, there's a whole two pieces of first party content, (New York to Stamford and the DB BR 147);
    [IMG]
    Compare that to previous roadmaps from around this time of year;
    January 2025; (because I couldn't find December 24, maybe season of reveals replaced it)
    This has Mannheim - Kaiserslautern, F59PHR, Thomas and Friends Visit the WSR, Cardiff (OK that was Rivet), Zwolle - Groningen and the Koln-Aachen update.
    [IMG]
    Now December 2023;
    Here we have two US routes, two German routes, and Austrian route and a UK route, plus Koln-Aachen update.
    [IMG]

    Compared to previous years, dtg clearly has a lot less to show for itself when it comes to first party tsw content, not to mention they've already started subcontracting UK stuff...

    They seem to be doing a TSC where they start off and they mostly leave it to the third parties, probably improves the chances of something working first try /j

    This. They may not state it publicly but I’m betting they have mortgaged the farm on MR being a success and it could be quite serious for the future of DTG if it isn’t. As I’ve said previously, Giants have jeopardised the future of Farming Sim following their failed venture into Project Motor Racing, leading to massive downsizing and staff layoffs.

    How could it possibly be a success though. Where is the player base for that game?

    I guess you do get surprise 'sleeper' hits sometimes that just capture people's imagination, but I don't see it myself.

    That is exactly the worry.

    They have gone to the trouble of creating NYC Subway lookalike tunnels and trains for MR yet continually trot out the "no access" excuse for not creating a Subway route in TSW, which would sell like hot cakes. And no one who even wants to half seriously drive the Subway is going to give house (hard drive) space to MR. Not just dead in the water but IMHO stillborn and we just have to hope it doesn't take TSW and the dregs of TSC down with it.

    Yes, framerate goes up, but also the ghosting and artifacting can get worse than TAA.
    And I'm not confident in DTG to implement it correctly.

    I don't think there is any reason why they did this other than stopping players using previous version of TSW? I have TSW3 loaded onto my system and it runs perfect, I have asked can I port my progress back onto the old version of TSW...I am still awaiting a reply?

    Thankfully those 2 things have seen major improvements in the update that pushed to beta yesterday (via the new transformer model). I was actually blown away, and it'll only get better. But for sure agree that it likely won’t be implemented correctly and/or efficiently by DTG.

    This as got me thinking also about their new project, don't know how many eggs they've put in that basket so to speak,but i think that it's a very good guess to say the bulk of their team and finances remain in the serious trainsim side off things,Sim games are a generally a niche market as it is

    Here's the thing, a niche market's not the bad thing it's framed as per say, yes your customers are limited but it means there's less competition. Case and point, look at TSW's relative success compared to the outright bomb that was Flight Sim World. Former's a niche market, but one DTG clearly knows to some degree and have had cornered for years. The moment they tried to compete in a established market with stuff like X-Plane & P3D they failed, and failed hard. None of their other ventures besides fishing have really stuck for any period of time either.

    I'm also just saying, most creatives don't get the privilage of having a audience that will follow you from high fantasy to a band film restoration like Peter Jackson. It's nice in theory to try and branch out, but reality is most attempts for creatives to branch out often don't work out. It's not the answer most of those sorts want to hear, but often the best decision is to just double down in your specific niche and stick to it.

    Bug fixes.
    VR support for PS5 (I wish)
    Less recycling and more new products like Class 25, 26, 27, 50, 55, 56, Hymek, Warship, slam door southern region, slam door eastern region. Craven 2 car, Derby works 3 car
    Beta testing for consoles like Microsoft/Asobo.
    Real live weather.
    More dirt, more grit, more rubbish, masonry, tracks, crisp packets, empty cans, cigarette butts, used condoms, carrier bags, flies on the windscreen. TSW is too clean, it does not reflect real life on the railways, real life its grottier, more grime.
    Better lighting at night

    Amen to all this. Well we’re probably not going to get the condoms with the PEGI 3 rating, nor in Guard mode have to deal with ne’er do wells smoking weed in the toilets, but at times the “World” of TSW is a bit squeaky clean and sanitised.

    I want to be able to say "Class" and "Passenger" and "Liverpool" and "Blackpool" and not have to worry about bottoms and worse ;)
    I'd even accept a Cockermouth if one proved necessary to play TSW7 :D

    About safety systems:
    TSW turns off safety systems by default for accessibility, i think they should have an optjon in general settings to have safety systems on or off automatically.

    I thought it was to do with the fact AI trains can’t cancel AWS etc? If you activate the safety systems and then let AI take over the train the AWS just keeps sounding.

    I often wonder if it's directly related to licensing.
    Remember a similar issue back in the early days of Forza and Gran Tourismo. I believe the manufacturers would not allow anything but clean versions of their stock to be licensed.

    May be the same with the modern routes.
    I know JT managed to get some of the grotty feel in the Blackpool route.

    Backward Compatibility for DLC that can bought in TSW6 and TSW7. For ex right now if you buy an addon in TSW6, to use it in TSW5 you will have to buy it again. You should keep the TSW5 and under policy (ex buy in TSW5 do not need to buy it again to use in TSW4). OR better yet, the next version is just called TSW and they keep updating it vs: TSW7, TSW8, TSW9...

    Of course that 3 letter word is not considered particularly rude over here in the US. I mean calling someone a " smartass" is quite OK. And describing someone as a " horse's a** " is rather mild these days.

    Getting back to the thread, I notice that at least 3 items on the January 2025 Roadmap still haven't shown up: Tadami, Class 104 and GWE remaster. Maybe that's what we should be wishing for in TSW7!! A year is a long time at my age.

    What do you think will still be outstanding from the February, 2026 Roadmap a year from now?

    Then the solution is to have them automatically switch on when you take over the train.

    Surely that can't be hard to do.

    With TSW7 I'd love to have two things:

    1/ New style of the game UI/menus.

    2/ New cumulonimbus clouds added to the weather.

    But 2/ could be left for the release of TSW8.
