In the past, I have often dropped out of a freight service due to a red signal that stopped my train (and, usually, a passenger train on the next track) after just a few kilometers. The signal, by the way, stands to the right of the passenger train's track. For example, this happened to me yesterday during the Mixed Freight Wuppertal-Steinbeck-Hagen service.
As usual, I called the dispatcher, who replied, "Proceed as signals indicate". [Thanks a lot! ] Instead of stopping and waiting forever with no opposing traffic in sight, I decided to save the scenario and then just drove on through and -- no penalty!
Will this always be true? I won't guarantee it, but it strikes me as better than just sitting there.

P.s.: by the way, if you do choose to sit and wait, you'll find that you can keep busy by opening and closing the doors (cab and passenger) on that passenger train alongside you and can even exit your train and take over the passenger run. If you elect to do this, the freight you've given up immediately heads down the track. "V-e-r-y interesting, but stupid!"

I just purchased this route a few days ago, and this "bug" is still there. Stuck on red, called the dispatcher, told to proceed on signal, an hour later, the signal is still red.

And didn't this signal have two white dots just below it? I don't remember exactly what it's called, but it usually lights up when you need to enter a side road, and on new routes you need to pass it by pressing the "bypass PZB" button.

No two white dots. Here is the exact route if you want to try it:
    DB80401 Finnertrop-Hagen KNG 185DB
    First Stop Plettenberg 873
Red Light Only ( no white dots)
Contact Dispatcher Told to "proceed as signals indicate"
That is as far as you can go, try and go past red, and end of session.
Shame that this was reported 4 years ago, and it still is broken.
BTW, lots of luck trying to get AFB to turn on..

I don't play old routes, to be honest. It's precisely for the reasons mentioned above. Often, something is broken there.

It is a shame, because the scenery in that route is fantastic.

I periodically play on the RZN timetable for 2006. Shunting switches on BR294.

I've driven this service and I think you guys got the sequence completely wrong.

    1. First stop is Plettenberg 804 before the red signal.
    2. You ask the dispatcher for clearance and it gives you "Proceed as Signals Indicate". But WHAT signals?!?!
    3. You then backtrack to 873, uncouple and leave 5 wagons there.
    4. You then return with the rest (5 wagons), uncouple and place them at 804.
    5. You then get clearance to drive to the head shunt.
    6. You then return the loco and couple to the train on 802. Beware of the red dwarf signal and ask the dispatcher for clearance!!!
    7. You then drive this train to the head shunt.
    8. You then backtrack this train and couple to the 5 wagons you left on 804.
    9. You then return to the red signal on 804 and wait the cargo train passing from Hagen.
    10. You then get clearance to Hagen 32km and off you go.

There's nothing wrong with this service. But thanks to make me coming back to what's probably my most beloved route in TSW.

Where are these instructions written, I must have missed them?

There're written nowhere. I've driven the service and listed the steps. That's it. The "Proceed as Signals Indicate" some seem to associate with the red signal on 804. That seems to be the reason why they wait for the signal to turn green (you can wait forever!) or they advance and SPAD. But it refers to the signals on the back of the train. They're already green so that you can backtrack to 873 and leave 5 wagons there. Drive the service and you'll see that it works.

Posts only allow up to 5 pictures. Thus the multiple posts.

I believe TSW is the most bug-infested software I've ever hosted on my console. But this service isn't one of them. In fact, it's a quite fun to drive service. Out of the box and not the usual A to B drag.

For those of us without a crystal ball, it is a mystery.
