I’m noticing the same issue. Just did a run back to GCT after switching cabs at New Rochelle at 45mph max at the full throttle. Feels like somehow the breaks from the initial cabin don’t fully disengage after the switch, even though the screens say breaks are released. Any ideas on how to fix that?
Just watched a quick review by a YT’er called DC4260. Not very favourable at all and watching the clip can see why. Certainly not worth £33. More like £20.
I Only bought it cause I had some credit about to expire so only paid £13. It's ok not the best and the bugs with safety systems are really annoying after a while. But certainly not worth the £33 price maybe no more then £25. Still least we mvl next i been waiting for that and just hope it has smooth release with no bugs.
So...without ATC signal drops, is there a way of knowing when the braking curve starts...? It takes less than half a mile to go from 60 mph track speed to a station stop. Without ATC signal drops why wouldn't I? Anyway, this last instance I was already in the braking range (low end) when the track speed dropped and I got an immediate, unrecoverable penalty brake. Moving the MC to suppression range and acknowledging had no effect. That doesn't seem right.
I actually expected much worse review. He was actually fair and the issues he put forward were valid. He did mention the positives on it so it wasn’t all doom and gloom. We had two local players review the game and they actually gave really high praise for the route. The bugs are there but hope to get some of them patched.
Correct. This route was my fav. in Trainsim classic. Because i live in the Netherlands can't tell if the M8 is correct etc. But there is some overhead wires missing. Between Greenwich just before Port Chester. Between Harrison and Mamaroneck also near Marvel siding Between Mamaroneck and Larchmont(just before Larchmont station) New Rochellestation track 4(platform) Pellham track 3 station platform Maby there are some more but above you cant miss All from the direction New Haven - New York
I advise people to try and learn this route to know where all the speed drops are and how to respond to them yall gotta be proactive when driving in game and real life for example if I leave Larchmont going south and the track speed is 70mph but there is a 50 up ahead I would only cruise up to 50 mph so I don’t get beep out approaching New Rochelle. Try and drive like 15-20mph below the MAS to learn all the speed restrictions I would also recommend dtg add training scenarios for new route that guides player on routes like this ie( speed restrictions)
Agree, there’s so much padding on the TT that even driving very conservative you will actually still arrive early closer to ontime
It seems to me a lot of what he was pointing out comes down to a lack of snagging and final polish, maybe this should not have been pushed out ahead of the financial year end. And the other frustration for me and I suspect others, is that we see DTG kowtowing to MTA as regards the safety systems, but we are still no closer to getting what we really want at this stage in the NY area - one or more of the Subway routes.
We are never getting a NYC subway route EVER I’m telling you this as someone who’s in NYC it’s never happening idk why people keep asking and it’s not kowtowing if the MTA says safety systems must be on
Just ran several services with the SD40-2 and several issues noted. I am on pc via Steam. This was noted on Q431 part 1 & 2. 1. You do not seem to be able to get a platinum score. I think this is due to safety system score, it is looking for the PTC/ACES to be on, but this loco does not have them. I did have the safety system breaker closed and the alerter was working. 2. When shoving a cut of cars and you are playing conductor and riding that last car, the alerter alarm is not audible from the rear of the train and also the HuD does not update. You have to keep moving from rear to cab to get it to update things like distance to next marker.
If you are doing everything that the service calls for and do not get the platinum, either the scores are set too high or, it's as I noted above, the safety system score.
Stamford so selecting Playable service 1508 and you see on the map at Greenwich station , AI service 1506 pulls in behind Ai train 1306 which is already at the station at Greenwich and tries to unload but can't since is not in the platform and is not able to complete the unload, this becoming stuck . this has been reported by many
This route has performance issues. And, interestingly, lowering the settings doesn't help at all. Ultra settings (except clouds) - 47 fps Low settings - 49 fps On any other route, reducing the quality of shadows and the amount of vegetation gives a great boost. Here nothing. Something is killing FPS, and this something is what graphics settings don't affect. Also FPS is high in some areas, which means it's not the AI traffic calculations - because it would constantly reduce FPS.
I've noticed alot of the AI trains i stopping at stations with only 1 or 2 carriages on the platform.
Speed Reduction. Usually you will see a sign preceeding this saying what the new speed will be. SR is the location where the new speed begins.
Weird bug. M3A doesn't have a joint sounds on this route. I checked on the Harlem Line and the joint sounds are presents - the bug is with Stamford route, not with M3A.
The wild one for me is crossing the hell gate bridge heading northward. As I reach the water treatment plant, looking to the left, towards manhattan, gives me around 90fps, looking to the right across the east river gives me 20. (RTX 4090)
PC Steam: I was running Acela service 2168 and noticed at approx.17:45 that Service 1575 appears to be stuck going into Greenwich station from Stamford direction, holding up 1375, 1577 and 1477.
Camera collision issue in Stamford. Train 1503. After starting the service press '2' two times and you will find yourself inside a coach.
For me the wildest place is New Rochelle when you run towards NY. As I approach the station, the FPS gets lower and lower and lower, and then suddenly jumps up to 80 and stays high. IDK, maybe some LOD issue.
yup this is a know issue that has already been logged. also affect when selecting ACS64 137 " stamford- playing service acs64 137 causes AI service 1575 to spawn in at Greenwich but can't open doors repo steps, star game and select playable service ACS 64 137, go to 2d map, observe AI train 1575 at the beginning of the station. fast travel to Greenwich station. head over to the cab on service 1575 and you can hear the AI trying to open the doors. but it can't because it's set up to only open
also, I have tried even spawning in 5 and ten minutes earlier and still AI service 1575 gets stuck there since it always pulled behind, probably going to need a special hold instruction toa void this as it seems to be happening on any services at Greenwich
I am curious to hear players thoughts on dynamic weather for this route. Has there been an improvement to dynamic weather transitions and timings? So far, I have been using TSW route & annotations live weather overlay but curious to know if weather transitions have improved when it is set dynamically. I noticed in the livestream, custom weather presets were set
I've tried it twice: 1. Light clouds -> clear -> light clouds 2. Clear. Weather decided not to change. Dynamic weather is seasonal now. In spring and fall weather often changes to rain, while in summer precipitation is rare.
Because IRL you would be qualified on the territory and know where the ACSES curve starts for the speed reduction. You're getting an unrecoverable penalty because you're, again, traveling too fast and braking too late for that specific speed reduction. I always start slowing down when I crest the hill around 86th street. I haven't been penaltied coming into GCT on this route yet. Approach into GCT starts around the 55 min mark:
didnt also Harlem Line have this bug? also, didnt play enough to notice, but does M8 display also show "...forestall" like indicating you are in good enough braking range to not get penalty (M7 and M9 would show this around 66% and more of braking force applied)?
the thing is that on most other routes with ATC/ACSES, you get the drop sooner before the actual speed limit starts, so you have time to put the braking in to get to the target speed... here it seems to notify you like 500 yards sometimes and then even when you do necessary stuff, it can get you an unrecoverable penalty (got one on a slower section, I was applying enough force, at least so I thought, and when I reached under the target speed and released the brakes, the brakes didnt release)... then again, havent played enough yet to test how my usual driving style would fare here edit: after getting ACSES warning, how many seconds do you have to get the brake into acceptable range before you get penalty?
This bug with the penalty brake for no reason is really wearing thin now . I brake well with in time to next speed drop and soon as release the brakes once at the speed I need be at . The brakes lock on bring to halt . So thinking refunding this now .
If already i apologise if safety systems are mandatory. Why do you get the choice on the on m7s to have them on or off.
Anyone done part 11 of the sd40 journey. It seems go awal on the way tremont. You loose the the blue path on the map then you come to a red signal. I contact the dispatcher and says procide as signal indicates. Picture is where im stuck even delete a few trains but nothing . Nice going DTG i just waste over an hour doing something that just crappps out . And followed every instruction given . MAX1319
because the M7s that are here arent the ones from LIRR 2.0, but from Harlem Line, and those havent been modified yet
Fair enough, thanks. Is it accurate that on this equipment, there is no indication of the shape of the ACSES curve? On NJT and Amtrak equipment you have the "countdown"-style indicators on the SDU. Anyway, I still think it should be a *recoverable* penalty once you brake and acknowledge. The penalty is bringing me to a full stop a good quarter-mile before the track monitor indication of the actual speed limit change, which is to say, there's plenty of room to receive the drop on the SDU, put the brakes in suppression, and slow to the new speed. Isn't that how the ACSES curve should work?
There are several services where you have to wait until the scheduled final arrival time before the game acknowledges that you've closed the doors and ends the session. I've always assumed this has something to do with how the services are programmed in the timetable, because it's been inconsistent across routes and versions of the game for years now.
this is different situation as this just doesn't register the unloading of passengers. This is already confirmed on track 110 ,this particular service is on track 111. I'm not home so I can't test other services that end at that track. will investigate more tonight.
At night I was watching a stream of British Ace on PS5 Pro, the FPS values were around 15-20 and when it was the most, it maxed out at 35-40, it scared me a bit. The positive thing is that the textures weren't blurry and it had full layering.
MAX1319 I appreciate your diligence to this thread. Despite some of the issues being logged, I am enjoying the route.
old content will not have mandatory safety systems this only applies to new content or if the old content is re-released and sold again (as was the case with the M7, released with the original LIRR and later re-released with the extended LIRR)
I don’t think the game takes into account schedule paddings and that’s why there is such a long wait times on some services. on the LIRR NJT or Amtrak routes, I usually drive below the speed limit because there’s enough extra time built into the schedule where I can run slow, but still be on time
It’s in a different spot in the m8, towards the bottom of the ADU. There’s a small light labeled “brake rate” that will illuminate when you have achieved the required brake rate.
