It’s wonderful to finally hear the motor sounds on the PS5 now, but i have a couple of critiques, also noting I’m very familiar with the Electrostars 1. At about 45mph and above, the external motor whine seems to be a lot higher than the interior ones. Not sure why this is, it should sound the same internally and externally. 2. I really like rhe level of detail when the team simulated the ‘sync’ tone at 37mph in DC mode, and the inverter changing twice during this phase in AC, the second tone having deeper pitch with more bass. But could this level of detail be implemented for the ‘motor scream’ at 71mph and 81mph in the latter voltage mode? This is something you find on every electrostar when on overhead power at these speeds. 3. This isn’t much of a problem but I noticed when using the fly-by camera, at medium and high speed, with power being applied, the transition from carriage-to-carriage doesn’t sound great. Instead, you should be able to tell distinctively which carriage it is fitted with motors the axles as it passes you.
For some reason MVL ISNT updating for me (Xbox series X) I have no idea why I’ve gone into the store and I can’t update it, however other routes that received an update today such as GWE and ECW instantly updated as soon as I logged into my console? I’m not sure why this is?
As was said last week, PC and Xbox patch is to follow, if at all. Nothing is wrong with PC and Xbox audio.
Yes I’m aware that the pc and Xbox audio is fine but in that update there was 2 small fixes (GSMR on controller and tpws switch) so I thought those 2 updates would be for all platforms? In the actual patch notes posted by DTG yesterday it doesn’t mention anywhere how it’s only for ps5 atm, so that’s why I thought it would be for all platforms like everything else .
There is a fantastic video by NealTV8 but two collectibles are locked. l hope DTG Harry has them unlocked in the next update as they didn’t do it in the latest release.
Want to check the ticket on this. Which collectables were they? (And do you have the section of Neal's video with that issue on in case that hasn't been added to the ticket?)
Hi DTG Harry Thank you for your impressively quick response which is appreciated. The locked collectables are the first Aylesford Village Post Box and the last fire extinguisher at Tonbridge West in the works depot. Unfortunately l do not know how to copy the segments of the video link of NealTV8 video. But they are timed at 07.50 and 23.40. This is the link to the video and l commented to Neal, who said he had spoken to Firefly and it would be fixed in an update.
Hi DTG Harry following on from the above, but NealTV8 said in this video comments that; at the time of recording, there was a issue if collected to a fire extinguisher at Cuxton 1:55 or Tonbridge West Yard 23:45, one of them will appear as collected at the same time. Same with a postbox at Aylesford 6:30 or one of across the tracks from the spawn area in the Village at 7:55, at this time you wouldn't to able to reach 100 but 98 at the time being. NealTV8 responded to my text and said “There is a bug, if you collected one mentioned postboxes or fire extinguishers but by collecting one of them, it would appear that you already collected the other at another location. I talked with one of the devs at Firefly about it and they are very aware of it. Should be fixed in a later patch.” DTG Harry l hope that this helps you sweetheart!
That's massively helpful! I can't see a ticket for this, so I'll get one raised with that info (I might just have been searching for the wrong thing - it'll be closed and info moved to another if it's a duplicate!)
DTG Harry No need. We fixed that for release but it wasn’t included in the release build, something which is out of our control.
As I am on holiday, I haven't been able to enjoy the 375's sounds myself yet. Have seen a stream of it though, and it sounds great. Can't wait to play it on Monday...
Some DLC requires a long statement to show appreciation, others are so great they hardly need any input because they hold their own... This is one of the latter. After revisiting the route with the sound patch, this is plain and simply my favourite route in the game to date. God tier quality.
First time I’ve come across it, the hot air balloon on Medway Valley! On a dull 2nd May, 375303 pauses at East Farleigh on 2T56 1808 Strood to Paddock Wood. I don’t think I’ve said it this week, but what an exceptional route, still enjoying it. Well done Firefly!
What do people think/hope firefly will create next for tsw? I wonder if we will see anything on the may roadmap, I doubt it though as MVL hasn’t been out for that long
I'm probably completely wrong... And this is more of a hope, but a full length SEML to Hastings from Charing Cross would be absolutely phenomenal! But I'm fairly sure most forum users will be happy with any route that Firefly work on, I know I certainly will be.
Just wishing thinking on my behalf, but I hope Firefly continue on their Southeastern content for a little while longer.
WaveyDavey, I find myself in the same situation after having recently loaded MVL I was just wondering if your fresh Nvidea driver hack is still working giving you zero crashes. I assume your using a modded engine.ini as well as game mods?
Yep all still good..... Not really a hack though there was obviously some corruption in the installed drivers somewhere that just updating via the app wasn't clearing out so carrying out a full uninstall of the drivers and app/clean install process using the downloadable driver install files from the Nvidia update site rather than the in-app update was the suggested process on the various Nvidia forums and reddit. And yes over 200 mods and Jetwash's modded lighting engine.ini file all in use.
Think they are like that in reallife. Quite often 66's stalled on the Parkstone Bank (Poole) whilst working the Wool - Neasdon loaded sand in the wet. First off it was EWS and they sent a spare 66 from Eastleigh. Then Freightliner took over the contract and unless a low geared 66/6 was on the train in the wet then they wouldnt make it up Parkstone bank. Even an engineers train loaded with JNA falcons with spoil stalled on the bank at Parkstone about midnight. (DB 66/0's top n tailed) 3 hours later it was hauled back by the decent working 66/0. That ran round the train at Poole. The original 66/0 at the front was running and the whole train stalled again on Parkstone Bank. about 0930 that morning it managed to get going with the single 66 hauling the dead 66 and the rest of the train at a speed of about 10mph. It was met at Bournemouth by another 66 . It left there triple headed. But after causing 9 hours of disruption.... In wet conditions with aggregate trains heading to Eastleigh from the Poole direction they need to have low geared 66's alloocated to them. Especially now that the 60's have mostly all been consigned to the history books. Hentis
They handle 20/22/24+ wagon MMA and HOA rakes loaded with roadstone out of Peak Forest and the Peak District OK.
There's a creepy voice whispering 'Yeahhh' whenever the 375 goes over points. Is this, er, accurate? Eeek!
I may be wrong, but I think that might be a tad too long for a single route. Charing Cross to Tonbridge may be more realistic.
Yes it’s definitely quite long (around 60 miles I believe) but definitely possible as there’s longer routes in the game to.
Finally managed to jump back in after the PS5 fix to the 375 sounds, and superb, loving it. looking forward to more from the team and some of the clearly well implemented optimisations being back ported into other routes in need of some additional refinement
Has the audio been fixed on the PS5? I just did a run in the 465 and the traction/engine sounds are non existent when facing the camera forward with both windows open. When I turn the camera and face the either side of the cab windows I can hear the traction/engine perfectly. I should be hearing sounds coming from my L or R speakers when facing forward, but I don’t.
Hope you get it sorted. In my case I was also having the issues with the 595.xx drivers causing screen flickering in game as well as TSW crashing when running Medway...... All issues have been sorted including the screen flickering issue.
The 465 is nothing to do with us but then it never had an issue in the first place. The problem was with the 375 and the way the PS5 seemed to either build, or deal with, the more complex audio setup in the train. If you are having problems with the 465 it suggests an issue with your console maybe?
It’s definitely not an issue with the console. Only other explanation could be my audio set up whether in the PS5 options or TV. I’m going to try 2.1 sound instead of 5.1 tonight. Something funky is going on though as when I recorded a game clip on the PS5 the audio was fine when I played it back, but in-game the engine sounds were non existent only until I looked at the cab windows. Very strange. Edit: 2.1 sound was the fix. I won’t play TSW in 5.1 surround sound anymore.
Somewhere on thread they said the freight jobs are doubled because they are underpowered in game. But ive just done an aggregate run on wcml south. And it was single unit and it handled it just fine. So what's the difference. Thanks.
Will we ever see improvements/more functionality on the 375s TMS screen? Would be really nice feature and increase immersion and realism
Never say never but unlikely to be honest. It wouldn’t add anything to the gameplay and doesn’t justify the dev time really. There is plenty in the forthcoming patch to get your teeth into however, hopefully that will be with you all before too much longer
Working 5L92 which is an empty stock move between gravesend and strood on the 465 spawns in with passengers. When the unit is not in service.
