PS5 [resolved] Game Crashing After Update

Ps5 pro. The latest patch (June 3rd I think) is causing a lot of problems for me. First, after updating the TSW6, it crashed after the loading screen. I restarted the console and it seemed okay. After playing few tutorials, my save file got corrupted and reset my progress. After uploading a backed up save file, I tried to play the tutorials again. After maybe 6 tutorials my save file got corrupted again! Tried restarting the console, and the game crashed after the loading screen. Clearly something is very wrong now because I didn't experience such behavior before the patch.

Not sure if relevant, but the tutorials don’t have the result screen anymore - after completing, it goes to the menu that lets you choose if you want to replay or go to the main menu. Both save file corruptions occurred at this screen after completing the tutorial.
Dtg, please look into this because this is clearly repeatable behavior and i don't want to loose my progress. Thanks.

In the end it seems a reinstall fixed the problem, I can't tell if the poster also performed the other suggestions by DTG. It seems not to be a very common issue, otherwise there would be way more reports.

 

I've had to make another thread because it was locked.

Deleting the game and reinstalling only works the once, I've cleared cache and rebuilt the database and that still doesn't work.

When I go to play the game it crashes before loading. This is on PS5, I am using the PS5 version of the DLCs as well.

I'm getting a bit annoyed now.

 

I can confirm it doesn't resolve it. It only works once for me, I've reinstalled it three times and it's still broken.

I've cleared the caches and rebuilt the database twice, that doesn't work.

Regular PS5. Game crashes during loading screen. Reload the game and will usually start. Now when trying to go into timetable mode the game crashed again.

Yep, my 3rd ps5 crash today. One on Stamford on the acela at new Rochelle, one on brum Crewe in a 350 at penkridge and now a voyager at dawlish warren…. Bloody annoying

 

Also experiencing crashes when loading up the game since last update. Hope it gets fixed soon.

 

Yep same for me. Always at the end of the loading screen which is annoying as it takes a while with all the updates. Usually works 2nd time around. Also doing it on another PS5 in the home so appears to be affecting PS5 globally.

 

I think it is common. There’s lots of threads on the same issue. Something in the update broke PS5.

 

Lots.... there are 4, 1 is locked and OP created a new one, so in the end there are 3. Is there something going on, yes it looks like, but with 8 replies in total, it doesn't look like very common and happening to everyone. If no one could start TSW on PS5, I suppose it would explode on here.

 

Really interested to hear DTGs response here. I was worried it was a thermal thing but PS5 just shut itself down again mid run on brum to Crewe and the PS5 is as cold as a cucumber (and recently cleaned!). I will not now be running TSW again until this is fixed

 

+1. Wait 3 minutes for the content to load only for it to crash at the end.

Edit: I just restarted the console, and now it has loaded properly.

 

I hope it's soon, because I'm not purchasing anything until it's sorted. I'm not going to buy something I can't play.

 

Can the team also look why tutorials are corrupting the save file? Corruption happened twice after I completed between 5 and 10 random tutorials on ps5.

 

Surely this has to be linked to the issue PS4 players had (that was crashing once the loading screen was compete). Seems a very similar issue to me but now on PS5.

 

Didn’t watch the roadmap (rarely do) but did this get mentioned?

 

Same issue still persisting for me on PS4. The recent patch made it work for a grand total of 1 play session.

I also had these crashes last night too

 

My PS5 crashed on Saturday evening right before my stream started. Basicly it was loading in got to the point just before the DTG splash screen adn went "Nope" and crashed to the Something went wrong then crash report page.
I went straight over to the PC to do my stream, But checked the PS5 on Sunday by loading in TSW 6 and ran a service and it worked ok. But this definitely seems a global issue. Can this post be pinned at all?

I also submitted the crash report. Hopefully other people will or submit the reports. It is annoying but I urge people to submit them all the time their PS5 / PS4 crashes.

Every time it crashes I submit a report. So they've had a lot frome recently lol.

 

Had an update come through for Birmingham Cross City, I was thinking maybe it was that that was the bug.

Loaded the game back up and....it crashed again.

This is taking the Mickey* now.

So last night I installed TSW6 base game.

Tried it and it worked.

I then downloaded all my Train DLCs, tried it and it worked.

I then downloaded all my route DLCs, crashed on loading.

These are all UK DLCs.

 

I am just rebuilding the database so will try again after I've done that.

Massive shame as I was looking forward to Trent but that will have to wait to see if it will just crash again

 

Rebuilt the database and it's still bust...... crashed between Galton Bridge and Dudley Port after about an hour of play

All was ok until the core updates dropped last week, since then it’s multiple crashes at the end of the loading screen. Something in the update broke PS5.

 

A friend of mine has messaged me, he purchased Trent Valley for the PS pro.

And now the game crashes for him as well.

This is disgraceful.

 

Are we sure if its the Core updates? or is it the small update they did last Friday? As TSW6 was working fine upto that point.

It was working for me before that small update.

 

Yesterday I also launched TSW6 on my PS5. The game crashes completely at the end of loading. On the third try the game launched. We already have blurry textures and now it can't even launch normally.

It's our game after all that we can't play.

 

You would have thought that they actually test it on a standard PS5 before release....
So damn frustrating.

Don't forget, They're not able to test things on a PlayStation Console before release, including updates.

Despite other games companies, smaller games companies as well, not having that issue.

Update received. But I didn't have these issues before that. Maybe I didn't have the right DLC's installed?

 

I'm currently installing some DLCs but it did load up correctly just now.
