i’m no expert on optimisation and blurry textures, but a thought i had was. would it reduce the issues to make watered-down AI stock, specifically with lower resolution interiors, that when passing a player wouldn’t notice but would take up less space in the memory pool? for example, an AI 350 that has more blurry maps and seats, which is normally a problem but if it’s something that you’ll see for 5 seconds, there’s no need for it to fill up the texture pool. it would also ensure that the exterior of the trains is not affected by blurring, only the interior through choice
Can’t be sure but haven’t DTG already dismissed this idea when previously suggested. Partly on the grounds that people will moan when they wander round a station and check these trains to find (say) little or no interior detail and that they will still need to run the physics through Simugraph when in motion. And can you imagine if something like a low res Class 60 or Class 304 non driveable traction unit was dropped in, there would be an outcry if something much requested couldn’t be driven.
