Isn’t there a whole community thread with a spreadsheet of most if not all of the current and past unfixed bugs?

Probably be best to check IMG_0814.jpeg

Are you referring to my thread, linked in my signature? I'm afraid it's nowhere near "most" of the unfixed bugs, but if more people submit information on bugs to the thread then it's easier for me to increase the number of bugs documented on it.

That's what I said in a thread some weeks back, I really Think DTG's goal is just to make easy money without putting in the effort and considering their customers

You know Bryer this is something I have thought about. We are seeing plenty of 3rd parties starting to create content which should reduce the pressure on DTG, who can then go and mostly just work on getting the core to work well and efficient and squashing bugs. I mostly played the game on console until I bought a new PC last year which is a high end system that can run TSW7 maxed out on epic settings which is a step above consoles. Ultimately I believe if TSW was efficient they probably could still even have gen 8 versions yet here we are struggling on gen 9! I worry if the situation gets too bad it would end up in a situation where TSW would need to be rebuilt from the ground up to avoid all the problems it has

Here is I think a clue:

QA combined with localization. comes to fewer employees than bloody marketing. That figure I think is very revealing. One wonders how many dev-hours went into the annual Trainzapalooza sales pitch, dev-hours that didn't go into QA.

I bet there are more than 100+ issues fixed internally that never got to be inside a build released to the players.
There are also many reported issues that were never fixed.

After playing the pre-release TSW7 build this weekend I can 100% assure you that most of the bugs present in the build were well known by DTG before release. It is not a problem of QA not finding the issues. The problem is that the product gets released anyway.

They got a huge launch day patch coming tomorrow and another patch coming in a week or two, between those two a lot of stuff should be fixed. outside of the bugs its a great release and probably one of the best releases in years as far as content, QOL and features go. I think you should wait until the end of the month after most of the issues are fixed and buy the deluxe. That's what I am going to do.

Would you be happy with an exterminator who got "most of" your roaches?

Smaller studios in Europe have a better work ethic and are much more efficient. European teams can make difficult decisions easier.
From my experience in various industries, British teams are notoriously inefficient, expensive and pander too much. Situations such as the quality of certain releases from ATS / Rivet are less likely to happen and they would've been dropped instantly no questions asked.
The market is cut throat and customer expectations are high - too much money is wasted. The publisher needs to demand more and not settle for mediocrity

For a developer a bug is only really a showstopper if it's game breaking, and while the bugs in TSW can be annoying, that isn't the case here (well, apart from the blurred textures on consoles, perhaps). Platform holders won't go after DTG for this kind of thing. I remember when working in LQA for a high-profile Ubisoft strategy game there was a big celebration during a dev team meeting because the game was able to go gold with 'just 100 bugs remaining'.

I believe SCS are based in Poland and they put out quality DLC for the truck sims at a fraction of the price of a route DLC for TSW. Part of that is obviously due to higher player numbers and therefore sales - let’s face it, who’s not going to buy Iceland so we don’t need to bother with Pro Mods. And of course the much anticipated Coaches add on which, if it releases in the next few months, will be the software purchase of the year. Where SCS do fall down, surprisingly, is on the marketing side. Like DTG they do have a penchant for announcing new stuff far too in advance. They are already actively previewing the Ireland add on for ETS2 which probably won’t be here before this time next year.

The SimRail people, also based in Poland, have no corporate or marketing overhead. All their staff are fully involved with delivering the actual product and its content.

This was my take 4 or 5 years ago. Since then I’ve learned that a LOT of stuff just doesn’t get fixed - trust gradually eroded to the point that one stupid little “final straw” (the 805 cab bug reportedly being fixed by AABS but still not being issued as a patch months later) makes me not want to buy anything else.

It’s not that I don’t like the game any more, it’s because there’s no trust that paying full whack for something is worth it - the 805 worked fine for a while, then these damn squares appeared and still haven’t been fixed - I paid full whack for it and they broke it subsequently - why should I make that mistake again?

I’m still playing the game and still have a list of DLC that I’d like to buy - I’m just waiting for the right price. I dare say that’s still counted as a win in their business model. Fair enough, if it works for them too then I guess we both still “win”.

Just seems like a shame, I would (used to) happily pay full whack and get the DLC when it comes out. But not any more.

I have a feeling you are a beta tester. You can never accept anything that involves the slating of the game (for good reason). Stop degrading others from having their opinion, you're not in the 1980's anymore.

Sometimes a democracy can help improve things, though it seems a bit far fetched with DTG at the wheel.

So, I reiterate... Stop complaining about us wanting better from the game. Not every comment do you need to reply with your '50p'.
