The RER B, one of the five RER lines and the second busiest line in Europe (the first is the RER A) due to the fact that it passes through both Parisian airports (CDG and Orly via OrlyVal at Antony) , passes through Gare du Nord , one of the major Parisian train stations and the busiest in Europe, Châtelet-Les Halles is a station with many connections (RER A, RER D, Metro lines 1 for go to Louvres Museum, 4, 7, 11 and 14 for go to Orly , St Lazare, Gare de Lyon and Gare de Bercy), La Plaine Stade de France station for go to the stadium of the same name and St Michel Notre Dame to see the famous Notre Dame de Paris monument and connection with RER C.
The perfect section "La Plaine Stade De France - Gare du Nord - Chatelet les Halles - St Michel Notre Dame" for travel/entertainment in Paris as well as for making connections. It's not a random line with all that. :D

It would be great to include this line in Train Sim World because I think it's the "easiest" to make after the RER E (which has fewer underground stations and is shorter than RER B). It's a line with a single train or two if before 1987 with the Z Train/Z 23000....or three :| if before 1983 with MS61... Or four?! :o before 1982 with Z6400 even though it was not counted as part of the RER B but of the Roissy Rail... But let's stay at the limit of one train (or two with the Z Train maybe in loco dlc or RER B mid '80 era). ;)

The RER B covers 80km/50mi with one half managed by SNCF (RER B North: Mitry Claye/CDG2 - Paris Gare Du Nord) and the other half by RATP (RER B South : Châtelet les Halles - Robinson/Saint-Rémy-les-Cheuvreuses) and 47 stops with a journey time of 1h for and end to end to Robinson and 1h30 to St Rémy les Chevreuse.
You might say 47 is a lot, but if you look at the other RER lines, it's worse (RER C and D in all : extremely long with many stations) or similar (RER A in number of stop with 46 stations ,not in length where RER A is longer). Only the RER E is less longer and fewer stations, but I find the RER B more interesting which I will explain a little later.

    Map of RER B :

This line is clearly for you if you like commuter trains. ;)

Moreover, it's not just the RER B but also the Transilien K line which shares a common section between Gare du Nord and Mitry-Claye.

    Map of Line K :
    Plan_Linéraire_Transilien_Ligne_K_-_2006-11-20.svg (1).png

    Rollings Stocks:
Z 8100/MI 79 and MI84 (for RER B) , the only RER line that doesn't have double-decker trains but that will change soon with the MI20 around 2030.
    Mi79_renové_bourg_la_reine.jpg
The livery may differ depending on the period.

    Francilien (for Line K)
    Arrivée_d'une_UM2_Z_50000_à_la_voie_3_de_la_gare_d'Aulnay-sous-Bois_(1).jpg

    Or/and BB 17000 + RIO if before 2016 (for Line K)

    Service :
RER B : All stations (omnibus and semi-direct services)
Line K : Gare du Nord (Overground) - Aulnay-sous-Bois - Mitry Claye (and continues in IA until Crepy le Valois serving all stations)

I'm putting "overground" because the Gare du Nord (if we disregard the metro lines and the RER E) is divided into two parts: overground for TGV , Eurostar, Thalys, TER and Transilien (Line H and K) and underground for RER B and D.
RER trains (north section) may stop at overground platforms for the first and last services and in case of works on the line that limits the terminus to Gare du Nord.

    IA :
    - RER A using Z 8100 at Chatelet les Halles (I know that there are different types of trains on the RER A and that depending on the time of year it no longer uses the Z 8100, but this is to avoid making Châtelet empty)

    - TGV at Gare du Nord (Overground) and near Massy Palaiseau (go to Massy TGV)

    Possible Extension :
I also think it would be a shame to have line K for just three stops :(, so I also propose an extension to Crepy En Valois, which would add 7 stations and 34km/21 mi, in total of 114 km/71mi.
And could also add a new train : Regiolis for TER Haut de France or BB 67400 + Corail depending on the period.

Line K - Calling at : Gare du Nord (Overground) - Aulnay-sous-Bois - Mitry and Claye and all stations between Mitry and Crépy En Valois

TER - Calling at : Gare du Nord (Overground) - Dammartin Juilly Saint Mard - Le Plessis Belleville* - Nanteuil le Haudouin* - Crépy En Valois (and continue in IA to Laon)
    * = Rare stop

There are also a non stop service between Gare du Nord and Crepy en Valois and continue to Laon for TER.

So for those who love long distance between stations, there's line K, and if you really like very long distance, there's the TER.
For TER , the journey between Gare du Nord and Dammartin is 34km just for a example.

For line K : 14 km between Aulnay and Gare du Nord and 12 km between Mitry and Aulnay after Mitry is 2-4km by stations except towards Nanteuil and Ormoy where is 7 km between the two stations and Ormoy - Crepy is 5 km.

After a second route Gare du Nord - Laon with 140 km/86 miles that would be nice, but I would at least like the RER B route to be extended to Crépy-le-Valois to provide more variety with line K (and see if the TER is added as well). :D

What makes the RER B interesting, apart from the fact that it runs along major stations is that it combines surface and underground routes.

When you are in Paris you will be underground except at Denfert-Rochereau which is partly underground and Cité Universitaire although some stations not in Paris are also underground (Sevran Beaudottes, two CDG stations and a piece of Antony's station).
There's also the different signaling between the RATP and SNCF sections; besides, before 2009, drivers would change shifts at Gare du Nord, now that's no longer the case, a driver can do the complete route.
The scenary varied, where to the north it will be a suburban scenary with a lot of buildings and road you can tell you're in the city and to the south a bit more provincial, especially when you are on the St-Remy-les Chevreuses branch with a forest crossing and for Paris... tunnel BUT with magnificent stations like Luxembourg.

However, beyond Mitry (to Crépy), the K line becomes more of a rural route.

There's also the fact that it's not a linear route and has 4 branches (2 to the north and 2 to the south), which gives it better replayability than a linear route.

And in my personal case, it's my local line, so I'd feel more comfortable on it than on other RER lines (even though I'd also like the RER D because I had the chance to drive it once during a formation which I unfortunately missed)

    Cab Ride :

    Mitry Claye - Robinson

CDG2 - St Rémy les Chevreuse

(Note : It is possible too from Mitry to St Rémy les Chevreuse or from CDG2 to Robinson , it depends on the timetable for the day.)

Je craque toute mon épargne pour une RIB ou une RIO dans TSW ! :D

I'd spend all my money for that !

PS : there were even occasional BB67400 + RIO99 "dromadaire" sets on the Paris – Laon line (during AGC breakdowns)...

Les fameux dromadaire je les avais oublié, it might be interesting to include it on a Paris - Laon route.

That's why I didn't include a specific period in my suggestion, because I can find all the periods for the 80s RER B line with the Z 23000 , MS61 and Z6400, 2000- 2010 with the Line K who use RIB/RIO , Z 6100 and VB2N (I didn't list them all in my suggestion because I didn't want to include too many trains) or the current period, I love them all especially with the different variants of the MI79 and 84 over time, whether it be the liveries (original, renovated with a mix of RATP and SNCF liveries, or the light renovation) and the interior is changing too :D

Moreover, the only video that I found with the line K at Aulnay with a VB2N

    :(

Please just give us a french route ! :D
