    Highlights of TSW6 - 2026:

Hello all, and happy early access day everyone (for those who can)!

Today I want to share some of my personal highlights throughout 2026 on Train Sim World 6 to celebrate the end of the game cycle.

Without further ado, let's get going...

    XC Farewell HST Pack:

    • Released between 12th February and 14th February 2026,
    • XC Farewell 2 is my third best livery in 2026 (so far),
    • "This was spurred from me doing the Grand Central HST last year (and how popular it was), and it seems to have paid off!"

    Link to announcement is HERE!

    1S45 PLY-ABD:

    • Released on 17th February 2026,
    • One of my better scenarios in 2026 (so far),
    • "I took advantage of the Voyager not being in the FCL timetable (at the time - it now is) and I think that's why it was so successful."

    Link to announcement is HERE!

    1Z12 ESL-PNZ:

    • Released on 26th March 2026,
    • My joint BEST scenario of the year!
    • "I'm still surprised (even six months later) that this scenario is so popular despite AI being non-existent in this scenario :o."

    Link to announcement is HERE!

    Coswig Divert Remastered:

    • Released on 14th May 2026,
    • My joint BEST scenario of the year (and my 400th mod ever)!
    • "A trial to determine whether remastered content could work. It works alright! Maybe more to come in 2027 perhaps? :o"

    Link to announcement is HERE!

Avanti 390119 Revamped (+ Development Insight):

    • Released on 24th June 2026,
    • A huge undertaking to get this one done. 45 hours of work across 3 months!
    • "Because of how successful this project (and how well it was received on CC), this has spurred me to revamp 390151 (which I dub 'PoppyPendo') too. Same principles, coming soon..."

Link to posts HERE (Livery) and HERE (Development Insight)!

    BWEGT:

    • Released on 24th July 2026,
    • My BEST release of the year!
    • "Seems like BWEGT liveries just work. That's two now that are very popular. Is this telling me something? :)"

    Link to announcement HERE!

I hope you enjoyed viewing some of my favourite works from 2026 that were created in TSW6. Do I do this at the end of the year for a TSW7 edition?

Any scenarios or liveries that you think should be on this list that you enjoyed? Put them down below and tell me why you enjoyed the scenario/livery so much!

    Community Engagement:
I just want to say a massive thank you for the increased community engagement on the thread recently, because it isn't normal for so much community engagement on here to happen at once! At least it isn't a monologue of me just listing my releases huh ;).

Anyway, I'm TG08 as usual, and I'll see you late next week (after TSW7 has released) for the first October CC release announcement. So until then, it's goodbye from me :).

Hello everybody, I know it isn't next week (yet), but I want to begin to explain about community requests, following the increase in community engagement over the last couple of weeks.

I have toyed around with the idea of allowing community requests for content before, but I haven't had the regular engagement to justify being open to do requests. Although, I have noticed a slight increase in community engagement on the thread in recent weeks, so I thought 'Why don't I capitalise on this opportunity to open requests again?'.

However, there are some guidelines that need to be followed if I want to open myself into doing this though:

    Community Requests:
    - Can be of a livery OR a scenario,
    - There can only be five requests on the list at a time,
    - It has to be on a route/loco I own,
    - Requesting something doesn't necessarily mean I'll end up making it,
    - Your request may release several months after you initially request it.

The reason why I want to discuss this now is because a) I don't have anything new to announce because we are in the midst of the TSW6/TSW7 game crossover period, and b) I am going to be adding a 'Community Corner' section to the Creators Club Roadmaps beginning with the January 2027 roadmap (more on this soon...) so I need things to fill it up.

(Don't worry about putting requests in just now though. If you have requests for content, I'd recommend waiting for the next Roadmap (due in a few weeks time) and put them below that :).)

I do have two requests in at the moment:
    - Western Sunrise (GWE) - requested by blibbles#5319
    - SPT Class 170 Pack (FCL) - requested by typicalnathan (on the Dad Rail Discord - a couple of months back)

Just a quick one today, I've been TG08 as always, enjoy the rest of your day and I look forward to seeing what requests I get given over the coming months . Until later on next week, it's goodbye from me :).

If you do Western Sunrise, I could do Western Pilgrim, as maybe a mini colab thing, but I'd need to buy Diesel Legends to do that, and I've noted that you might not follow up on requests, just an idea, I'm not in anyway tryna egg you on to make that, just a thought.

I already have Western Sunrise created. It just needs rigorous testing as I have jammed up Hayes & Harlington with the amount of Elizabeth Line services (mimicking Heathrow runs - might take them out) lol.

Don't worry, that one is definitely coming out :).

It isn't coming out until next year anyway, so don't worry!

    Well, hold on...

I have looked on Six Bells Junction, and I saw that the real Western Pilgrim railtour doesn't even run on GWE at all. It originated in Crewe.

    Six Bells Junction

You are better off doing that on either WCML: Birmingham-Crewe (between Crewe and Stafford) or on Birmingham Cross-City (between Birmingham NS and Barnt Green) if you wanted to make the scenario :).

Oh dang, I was well off then. I don't own own BHM to CRE, and I'm not a fan of the X-city line or it's scenario editor - you can only use 2 platforms at BHM :|. If I get BHM to CRE or WCML TV at some point, then I'll have a go at creating it.
Thanks for telling me that before I made a completely inaccurate scenario :)

if you did do BHM - CRE, it would have to be a 47, because the Wizzo was put on at Brum.

Hello all, I'm here to announce my next scenario from the Creators Club Roadmap, Dessau Express on Rapid Transit :).

    Scenario Name:
    Dessau Express
    Route: Rapid Transit
    Train: DB BR 403
Route covered: Dessau Hbf to Bitterfeld
    Duration: 25-30mins
    Difficulty: 2
Scenario Storyline: The main line between Wittenberg and Bitterfeld is closed, meaning services have to divert via Dessau. Drive this diverted ICE service from Kiel between Dessau Hbf and Bitterfeld. However, you have been unfortunate with the timing, as you have to follow an S2 service the whole way...

    Anyway, WIP shots await...

Here is our diverted ICE service at Dessau ready to take the S-Bahn lines towards Bitterfeld :).

Must've caught up with an S-Bahn service... how unfortunate :(.

I spy... with my little eye... something beginning with 'I'... :o

I like the symmetry at Jeßnitz here. The line opens up at either end of the station. If only we crossed over with another train here, huh? :o

Scenario Link: Creators Club - (TG08) Dessau Express (BR 403)

I hope you are all looking forward to this scenario releasing, I've been TG08 as ever, enjoy the rest of your day and I'll see you for the next CC release announcement. Until then, it's goodbye from me :).

Hello all, I'm here to announce my next livery from my Creators Club Roadmap, GBRf '66746' on the Class 66 from East Coast Main Line :).

    Livery Name: GBRf '66746'
    Route: East Coast Main Line
    Train: Class 66 EWS
    Route covered: N/A
Duration (to make the livery): 50 minutes
    Difficulty: N/A
    Scenario Storyline: N/A

    WIP shots await...

Here it is, the Belmond Royal Scotsman livery. Needs a bit of a clean like, but it's still decent :).

Here's a frontal view of the loco. Heavy weathering can be seen on this one. The neglect from GBRf huh? Hopefully 743 doesn't look like that too... :D

Here is our loco posing with all of my other GBRf Class 66 locomotives (more to come in 2027 :o):

Hello all, I'm here to announce my next scenario from the Creators Club Roadmap, 1C79 PAD-PNZ on West Cornwall Local :).

    Scenario Name:
    1C79 PAD-PNZ
    Route: West Cornwall Local
    Train: High Speed Train FGB
    Route covered: Truro to Penzance
    Duration: 40-45mins
    Difficulty: 1
Scenario Storyline: Drive the last leg of service 1-Charlie-7-9 from Truro to Penzance on an overcast August afternoon. This set has had a smooth run thus far coming from Paddington, so get those holidaymakers escaping the city to the coast as safely and as soon as possible.

    Anyway, WIP shots await...

Here is our HST sat at Truro, having had a long journey thus far from the nation's capital. We'll soon be in Penzance though ;).

Oh hello there! Fancy seeing you here my friend :o:love:.

Cheers for the drone shot (of our service leaving Hayle and going over Hayle Viaduct) Mr Photographer :).

Now that's what I call perfect timing! We arrive just as the St Ives shuttle arrives back into St Erth, but on Platform 2 this time (instead of Platform 3)... :o

Hello everybody! Just a quick one today.

You may have noticed some of my content disappearing and reappearing again (on CC) in the last couple of days.

    Mainly;
    - RJ256 Berlin (BR 1116) - Semmeringbahn
    - RJ257 Graz (BR 1116) - Semmeringbahn
    - RJ110 Munchen (BR 193) - Bahnstrecke Salzburg-Rosenheim
    - OBB on TRAXX (BR 1116/BR 185) - S-Bahn Vorarlberg
    - BR 1116 x2 + Coaches (BR 1116) - Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel-Wurzburg
    - Double Jet (BR 1116) - Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel-Wurzburg

I want to make everybody aware that any references to 'Railjet' or 'RJ' in either the mod title or mod description will result in your content being withdrawn from Creators Club. This is likely due to licensing restrictions recently imposed (behind-the-scenes) by OBB in regards to the Expert Railjet DLC being developed by TSG.

NOTE: The above has not been confirmed by DTG, and is purely speculation/a presumption on my end.

Just a quick address post today, just in case any of you have noticed any reuploads from me over on CC in the last couple of days. I've been TG08 as always, enjoy the rest of your day, and come back tomorrow for the announcement of Talent Substitute. Until then, it's goodbye from me :).

Hello everyone! Just giving you all a follow-up update on this. I have spoken to DTG Support and I have made the decision to keep the affected mods removed (which includes my most popular mod ever). It's probably for the best to be honest :|.

    Sorry everyone,
    TG08 :(.

    Duration: 30mins
    Difficulty: 1
Scenario Storyline: Your Talent 1 failed on its inbound journey to Wien Hbf and was terminated short at Wiener Neustadt. Drive this CJX 9 service from Wiener Neustadt to Payerbach-Reichenau using TnT Taurus' as the replacement train for the failed Talent 1 unit, all during a wonderful sunset to dusk setting!

    Anyway, WIP shots await...

Hello again... I am going to post an update on this once again.

I have had another livery taken down, this time my most recent release (as of today at the time of writing) - GBRf '66734'. This is really frustrating, because I feel that it was just getting going in terms of subscriber counts, and now I have found myself in a conundrum where every time I try to upload the livery, it just gets withdrawn straight away.

If this continues with any releases due out in October, then it might lead to me losing the fun in making content, because what is the point in making content if I have the fear of it being removed a few days after release?

Anyway, I'll keep a list of 'blacklisted' releases currently withdrawn on CC:

    - RJ256 Berlin (BR 1116) - Semmeringbahn
    - RJ257 Graz (BR 1116) - Semmeringbahn
    - RJ110 Munchen (BR 193) - Bahnstrecke Salzburg-Rosenheim
    - OBB on TRAXX (BR 1116/BR 185) - S-Bahn Vorarlberg
    - BR 1116 x2 + Coaches (BR 1116) - Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel-Wurzburg
    - Double Jet (BR 1116) - Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel-Wurzburg

I have reached out yet again to DTG Support regarding 66734, so we'll see what happens on that front tomorrow. It is a real pain not only for me, but for you guys as well. Hopefully it gets sorted (in the best way possible).

    TG08.

Granted I have way less uploaded creations than you but I have 1 creation that got taken down due to copyright. I tried putting the GBR livery on the Class 484, it only got 62 subscribers but was taken down, as were the other branded GBR liveries from other creators like SubwayRailfanner

I have my answer. I have been given a temporary ban on CC for 'repeatedly uploading copyrighted content' (unintentionally) which will lift on Monday.

Meaning Dessau Express will be delayed until Monday at the earliest. Which is annoying because I'm on holiday from Monday for a week :|.

    Sorry guys,
    TG08 :(.

    Status Update: 04/10/2026-05/10/2026

Another one bites the dust... :(

Hello everyone. I just want to give you all a status update on where things are before I go away on holiday.

Tomorrow, I will release Dessau Express, and also try to reupload GBRf '66734' and FLIXDivert. Yes... you heard that right. FLIXDivert was taken down yesterday evening, and the eagle-eyed amongst you will have seen that I added it to the 'blacklisted' list last night.

All I can say is that it is very frustrating. Mods that have been uploaded for YEARS are being taken down now. It's pleasantly surprising me that somehow a mod that released two years ago is only becoming a problem now in October 2026.

(It is only a thought for now, so I wouldn't worry about it just yet) - I have thought about quitting Creators Club if this malarkey continues. The fun will have been sucked out of me because I'd then be living in the fear of uploading something then for it to be removed a couple of days later. I cannot live like that considering how much time and effort I put into everything; be it liveries, scenarios, formations, my side projects, the CC Roadmap, this thread you are reading right now, you name it.

A slightly sombre post tonight, but I'll be taking a short break from CC after tomorrow so I can come back from my holiday with a (hopefully) positive mindset about creations again.

    TG08.

I'll fully respect your decisions if you do leave us but it'll be sad to see you go if you do decide to call it quits :(

On the more positive side, enjoy your holiday :)

Hello everyone, seems like everything is going well (so far - don't jinx it) as I was able to release Dessau Express and also reupload both GBRf '66734' and FLIXDivert with no issues whatsoever :). (I have also updated the 'blacklisted' list accordingly following these changes).

Just a quick one today everyone. I'll see you all next week with the first announcement of November content. I've been TG08 as ever, enjoy the rest of your day. So until then, it's goodbye from me :).

Hello everyone, another post from me regarding another video from JPS. This time it is of Stormy Modal (even though it is the incorrect weather conditions - but hey ho!)

    Video Link:

Here's all of the videos in one section if you want to check them all out (and it saves you time scrolling through the thread to find them):

Thanks to JPS for all of the support over the past few years . That's a lot of content there for you all to watch as well courtesy of JPS here. I've been TG08 as ever, enjoy the rest of your day, and I'll see you next week for that announcement. Until then, it's goodbye from me (for real this time ;)).

Hello all, now that I'm back from my holiday, I'm here to announce my next scenario from the Creators Club Roadmap, Neilston Sprint on Cathcart Circle :).

    Scenario Name:
    Neilston Sprint
    Route: Cathcart Circle
    Train: Class 158 ScR
Route covered: Glasgow Central to Neilston
    Duration: 35-40mins
    Difficulty: 2
Scenario Storyline: The wintery weather has meant that the overhead wires on the Neilston branch have fully iced over. ScotRail have sent some Class 158s from Haymarket Depot to provide the usual Neilston circuits. You are taking charge of two of these Sprinters on a service from Glasgow Central to Neilston. These units are sensitive to wheelslip, so do be careful when leaving stations.

    Anyway, WIP shots await...

Here is our Sprinter pair sat at Glasgow Central. This isn't a Class 380?!? :o

There are still electric trains operating to Newton and around the Circle (for now) and we cross with a Desiro at Pollokshields East :).

We are preparing to leave Cathcart (and the electric trains) behind as we head towards Neilston.

As we cross under the East Kilbride branch, we approach Williamwood, running a few minutes late (due to a combination of this weather and the EMU timings) :|. It doesn't seem to be getting any better...

    Scenario Link:

I hope you are all looking forward to this scenario releasing, I've been TG08 as ever, enjoy the rest of your day and I'll see you for the next CC release announcement. Until then, it's goodbye from me :).

Hello everyone! You may have seen that I put up a thread last night regarding the prospect of me using community mods as part of my (more so scenario) content going into 2027. It would be appreciated if any players of my content do contribute to the poll over the next week so I can collaborate with you all to see whether this is a suitable direction for me to begin pondering to go down.

I have had some people contribute already, so thank you for that! I have also posted the thread link on several community-led Discord servers I'm in, along with the main Dovetail Discord.

Here's the link if you only view this thread (even though it is visible on the Creators Club subforum): TrainGeek08 And Community Mods | Dovetail Games Forums.

I may repost it on Discord over the weekend just in case you missed it last night. But if you follow the link (on here), it'll take you straight there. Also, it doesn't just have to be feedback gathered from the poll. If you have any thoughts, I'm more than happy to hear them! All opinions are welcome .

It seems like October has been updates/other stuff more than announcements, but it isn't going to become a normality.

    Thank you all,
    TG08 :).

Hello all! This evening I have a treat in store for you. Not only do we have a livery announcement, but we have a dedicated Development Insight for you all to stick your teeth into coming up later on.

Welcome to Avanti 390151 Revamped, the sequel to Avanti 390119 Revamped that came out at the end of June. This Pendolino revamp is based on Class 390/1 'Pendolino' 390151 'Unknown Soldier', which in real life wears a 'Remembrance' livery. I say that, but it is just poppies on the driving car ends. This revamp aims to make 390151 into a train that actually acknowledges the fallen in a more sincere and respectful manner.

Before we get into the announcement, I have a quick question to discuss regarding the livery:

Why did you make this livery?
    - I made this livery because of how well received 390119 Revamped was, and because of this success, I wanted to pursue another revamped Pendolino. I feel that 390121 doesn't need revamped at all, so attention turned to 390151. 'Poppies on the driving car ends? Seriously Avanti?' was the thought process behind this revamp, and I feel that I have embraced the Remembrance theme in a better way than Avanti West Coast have done IRL.

Okay. Admin out of the way... let's get into this well-awaited announcement!

    Livery Name: Avanti 390151 Revamped
Route: West Coast Main Line South
    Train: Class 390/1 AWC
    Route covered: N/A
Duration (to make the livery): 18 hours 10 minutes (creation pre-refinement + creation post-refinement); 17 hours (refinement), 35 hours 10 minutes (overall - across 2 months).
    Difficulty: N/A
    Scenario Storyline: N/A

    WIP shots await...

Here it is! 390151 Revamped. It is pictured here from its first class end. The Avanti triangle has changed yet again for this livery. It has become a trifecta of poppies this time around . Note the poppy on the coupler door too ;). Also notice how it is only the cab ends that are teal? The rest of the train is coloured like a poppy, meaning that the Remembrance imagery goes down the whole train. Seeing this Avanti?

Here is a view of 390151 from its standard class end. Note how I've taken some inspiration from 390121 in the sense that I have included our livery partners. It is a collaborative effort this livery, between Avanti West Coast and the following partners; Alstom, Angel Trains, Royal British Legion and Poppy Scotland.

390151 seems to have found a friend . Oh wait... it's our old faithful that we mentioned at the top of the announcement of course! Both of our revamped units are on show here. Question is; does 151 trump 119, or are the Pride faithful still on top?

Here are the nameplates that I have created for 390151. I have kept Unknown Soldier because that name has become attached to 151 for several years. I have named 151 'E. Sykes VC/G.E. Clayton' on the other side as a nod to two former LMS railwaymen who served in the UK military in WW1 (Sykes) and WW2 (Sykes + Clayton) along with the dates that the pair (unfortunately) perished:

    Livery Link:

I want to give two massive shout-outs; firstly to Rob Woods, as once again the use of his colour cards to get the initial Avanti colours (before I gave the Avanti colour palette a more poppy-esque feel) correct. He (mostly his colour cards) has been a massive help since June, so wherever you can, give him his flowers . And secondly to SubwayRailfanner, because without the use of his Unknown Soldier livery for the line geometry, this livery could not have been possible. Thank you for making your detailed liveries and just keep putting all us livery creators to shame why don't you! :D:love:

Development Insight - Avanti 390151 Revamped (livery):

Hello again, now that the big bulk of the announcement is dealt with, I can now offer you all an insight into what went into making Avanti 390151 Revamped.

As mentioned during the announcement, this livery took a monumental time to make. Nearly the equivalent of one and a half days to be exact! Even if it was split over two months, this livery (along with 390119 Revamped) is one of the most in depth liveries I have ever done in TSW. I really do hope that my explanations of certain elements of the creation process help you with making your own complex liveries.

There are some points I want to discuss with you on how I approached this livery:
    - Creation Order
    - Refinement
    - Idea Generation

There will be a 'Q & A' style segment as well like in my CC roadmaps to cover both the creation and refinement processes as well.

    Before we start...

What did I change from the original 390151 you all see racing along the WCML in real life?

    - Avanti triangles are a trifecta of poppies instead of white/orange,
    - The Avanti colour palette (outside of the cab ends) are now the colours of a poppy (poppy red/black/bright red),
    - Included a wreath design on Coach E,
    - Included a clock design with poppy clock hands, along with a slight nod to the two minute silence on Coach F,
    - Included a poppy field design on Coach U,
    - Named the unit 'Unknown Soldier/E. Sykes VC + G.E. Clayton',
    - Added a ribbon band that runs down the train (some coaches have poppies and some don't),
    - Added 'Lest We Forget' and 'We Will Remember Them' wording along the sides of the train.

So, with that all said and done, let's get into the crux of what you have been waiting for then...

    Creation Order:
First topic of discussion for this livery is the creation order, because I made this livery in a slightly different way to normal. I created the end coaches (Coaches A & K) and the nameplate coach (Coach G) first because I had adequate reference imagery for those coaches. However, unlike in 390119 Revamped where I had reference material for every coach, those three coaches were the only three I had sufficient imagery for. Although, like in 390119 Revamped, the reference imagery that I tried to use for the intermediate coaches was of poor quality or there wasn't a lot of reference outside of the end coaches (which is where the 'money' is). So, with this in mind, I jumped straight to refinement, as that way, I could use our good friend Isaac's (SubwayRailfanner's) livery of the real 390151 to get the line geometry absolutely spot on. I talked about it at great length in 390119 Revamped's Development Insight about how important the refinement process is (the link takes you there). Once refinement (which will be discussed below) was completed, I went back to the creation process and started adding in some Remembrance decals to make the train more meaningful for the cause and to be respectful to our fallen and those who have served/still do serve.

    Refinement:
Onto our second topic of discussion, which is as per last time (link is above), is refinement. However, this time, I'm not talking about the importance of the refinement process, but instead talking about a technique that I learned during the refinement process and how it made this livery become more efficient. So, once I started the refinement process, I did the process exactly the same way as I did with 390119 Revamped, be that go out of Livery Designer (LD), into the Training Center (via all of the menus), compare the liveries, and then go back into LD (again, through the menus) to apply that specific detail or to adopt a specific line geometry. However, I soon realised that this approach was becoming too time-consuming and costly. 'What is this new technique then?' I hear you cry. Well, what I did was I went into the Training Center, loaded up/spawned in SR's 390151 livery, then used Photo Mode to reach the specific coach I needed, before taking a photo of both sides of the train using my mobile phone. This meant that the menu-hopping issue I described (or at least alluded to) in 390119 Revamped (and also above) was redundant, as I could just go into LD and work on the coach continuously, thus saving me time in the long-term. And thus, refinement took four hours less than it did for 390119 Revamped, making this process more efficient than before.

    Idea Generation:
So, onto our final topic of today, which is Idea Generation. I couldn't leave the train blank on the side, especially if I'm wanting to put Avanti to shame for doing a 'lacklustre' job with 390151 IRL ;). So, you may be asking yourself; how did you come up with the ideas to put specific designs on the middle coaches of the train? Well, I enlisted the help of (cue the boos) AI to give me ideas of what to include on a unit of this significant importance. However, the work you do see on the sides of the train are completely thought of by me, expanding on the initial idea the AI gave me. The wreath design on Coach E is really beautiful, and I had a tiresome time trying to get the shape correct. Although I'm happy with how it eventually turned out. The clock design on Coach F has quite a meaningful message encapsulated in it. It has the time of eleven o'clock, and has a hand at two minutes past eleven (give or take) to commemorate the nationwide two minutes' silence that is observed on the 11th of November each year.

The poppy field (seen in the picture above) on Coach U is my favourite part of this livery ! The sunset sky found above the windows is something I take great pride in because I love the way it fades into the Avanti off white by the logo. The poppies are at different heights too, but the strands of grass were a pain in the (bleep) to get right though, because I wanted them at varying heights too. I got there eventually, and I feel like the short-term pain is going to become long-term gain! The ribbon band that runs along the train I feel ties it all together, as some coaches don't have room for big fancy decals because of the lines within the base Avanti livery. Some coaches have poppies along the band, others don't, but more on that in just one second... :o. It may just explain why some coaches don't have poppies running along the bands ;).

There's also a little game I've hidden within the livery itself. It's to do with the poppies :o. If you count all of the poppies found on the eleven-car Pendolino, then there may be a specific reason why there is that certain number of poppies on this unit ;). Happy hunting!

I hope you found that all very informative, and hopefully the techniques discussed can help you with making your own advanced liveries in your collection. Now we have our 'Q & A style' segment to complete, touching more on the creation order and why I did the livery the way I did, and also the refinement process and how doing 390119 Revamped helped massively and made me become more efficient with this work of art!

    Q & A - Creation (pre-refinement - Q1-Q3; post-refinement - Q4-Q6):
Q1 - What made you decide that the existing design needed a revamp rather than a completely unrelated new livery?
    - I felt like the real livery wasn't doing enough visually to justify being a Remembrance liveried train. Just putting poppies on the driving coaches just isn't good enough in my eyes. So, that was where the idea behind the revamp was born. And I'll go on the record and say that I think I've put Avanti to shame with this one...

Q2 - Why did you choose 390151 as the train to receive this livery?
    - Well, that is a really simple answer. 390151 is the 'Remembrance-liveried' Avanti Pendolino. So it's obvious as to why I have chosen to use 390151 as the base for this livery.

Q3 - Which part proved most difficult to get right?
    - Everything on Coaches B-U and H-J because of the lack of reference material in comparison to Coaches A, G and K. As I discussed earlier, it's where the 'money' is, so obviously there was going to be more images of those coaches than the intermediate ones. So, what I did, was that I just put what I thought resembled an Avanti West Coast design on the coaches, and then left them until refinement, when I did them properly.

Q4 - Did the final creation involve any new ideas that had not appeared in the original concept?
    - Yes. All of the remembrance decals were thought about following refinement. I didn't think of them pre-refinement because I needed to know how each coach is made up i.e. where do the lines curve/go on the bodyside, so until I knew where I could get away with putting decals in, I didn't pour my heart and soul into them and focused on other areas (pre-refinement).

Q5 - Which design elements became central to the finished identity?
    - The remembrance decals. Specifically the wreath, clock and poppy field designs. Those three designs bring out the imagery of Remembrance the most outside of the poppy. Without those, I don't think the livery will have been taken very seriously and it would've just been like 'Oh he did this because his Pride one did well'.

Q6 - What makes the final version recognisably your own interpretation of a remembrance-themed Avanti Pendolino?
    - Well, no-one else has done their own version of 390151 (outside of SR's IRL representation) so it fits the theme very well and considering it has Avanti branding slapped all over it, it makes it a Remembrance-themed Avanti Pendolino design. Plus the colours of poppy red/black/red in place of the Avanti blue/orange/teal combo make the livery stand out, even against the likes of 390119 in her revamped guise.

    Q & A - Refinement:
Q1 - Were the main issues related to colour, positioning, symmetry, detail, or overall composition?
    - Overall composition. As I explained in the creation segment of this Q & A, I had limited reference material to go off of, so I just winged it until it came to the real business aka refinement. By using SR's livery, it became more believable. Trust me, you would laugh if you saw what it looked like pre-refinement honestly...

Q2 - Did you correct any alignment issues across the train's body panels?
    - Of course I did. Again, enlisting the help of SR's livery as a guide, I made sure the lines did line up properly against the different body panels as described in 390119 Revamped's Development Insight. Because I knew what I was doing already following 390119, it was way easier to get through each coach.

Q3 - Did you adjust any colours to improve contrast or consistency?
    - Well yeah. I changed the colour palette entirely from the ones I curated from Rob Wood's colour cards to a palette based on the poppy. (Sorry Rob ;)) but I wanted to include as much Remembrance imagery as possible without overdoing it. That was the last thing I wanted to do with this revamp. Overdo it... and overdo it I didn't!

Q4 - How did you check the results of each adjustment before moving on?
    - This is where the mobile phone picture technique from earlier comes into play. Since I took a photo from a respectable height within Photo Mode (in game - not on my phone) before I took the photo (on my phone - not in game), I could see where the roof panels were, and the underbody panels too. The framing was perfect so I was able to use my aforementioned line geometry technique (check 390119 Revamped's DI for more) to accurately line everything up in an appropriate manner before moving on.

Q5 - How did you prevent refinement from changing the original identity of the livery too much?
    - Well, I worked within the parameters of the original Avanti livery template with this one, so the livery hasn't lost any of its original charm. All I did was change the colours to my 'poppy palette' and then add remembrance-themed decals to the sides (in adequate places though - and during creation post-refinement of course) whilst sticking to the pre-made parameters made by the original Avanti livery base.

Q6 - Did the refinements improve the appearance of the entire train or mainly particular areas?
    - Oh yes! I hope so anyway. It looks really sleek now compared to pre-refinement. I'd describe the state it was in pre-refinement as (redacted) to be honest, it was that terrible (outside of Coaches A, G and K obviously). 390119 looks sleek as heck, as does 390151. It's why I love the pictures I took of the pair together. I better not get questions from the jealous Climate faithful now, I tell you... (A message to our Climate faithful; 390121 is absolutely lush as it is - I'm not revamping it - it's final ;)).

Oh wow! I'm finally through the Development Insight, and the full announcement at long last. Thank you all so much for reading this if you get down this far, it is gratefully appreciated!

See you next time for the next CC release announcement. Until then, it is goodbye from me in TG08 HQ! :)
