    Three routes for me:

    1. Rhine valley lines from Mainz to Koblenz (both east and west bank lines).
    2. Salt Lake City to Helper, Utah
    3. Gotthard pass line (before opening of the base tunnel)

How about the "Officials' Express"? Namely, the ICE from Bonn to Berlin, plus the old line via Magdeburg in case the Hannover-Berlin Highspeed Line is closed for maintenence :p

Although it's not large, I'd like to see the full East Coasway route, all the way to Ashford International, with the Class 313 and 171 added. At Eastbourne, this would be a great use of the walking function as you have to reverse the train there.

Manchester Victoria to Manchester Victoria via Rochdale and Oldham Mumps. The Oldham Loop. Length about 25 miles? Rail welding depot at Castleton so long trains of finished rails. A single track branch from Middleton Junction sidings to Chadderton coal yard. A large parcels depot at Clegg Street in Oldham which I remember long trains of 12 ton vans climbing the 1 in 50 to. If we had steam we could have the branches to Middleton and Royton and even the famous Werneth Incline which at 1 in 27 was one of the steepest gradients on a BR main line. Cotton mills, industry, Chadderton Power Station, rural sections through Shaw and Newhey, and of course in the V of the loop, Newton Heath depot. Won't happen of course.

The Routes of the Oberrheinische Eisenbahngesellschaft. Its basically a Ring with Start and Finish in Mannheim via Weinheim, Heidelberg and Edingen. Its Basically a mixture between Rapid Transit and a Narrow gauge Railway. Plus there are some sections where the Train runs as a Tramway, which would make for a challenging traffic.

I'd love the London Waterloo to Weymouth route. Mainly because that's the route my home station is on, so it would be great to drive the route.

I'd give you guys a really amazing trip through country town, bush-land, tunnels and and lots of small stations. Romanian Railways (CFR) have main lines as well as smaller routes but due to the topic at hand a MAIN LINE would be suggested in this case. I would suggest:

    Line 300 Bucharest–Ploiești–Brașov–Sighișoara–Câmpia Turzii–Cluj-Napoca–Oradea–Episcopia Bihor

Which covers a bit of everything, country side, small stations, lots of freight yards, lots of bush-land and mountainous towns with extensive aesthetics of a wide range of old houses similar to Russian houses in the country along side of the railway.
The speed limit for trains in Romania is 160 km/h. All other trains have a general speed limit of 120 km/h. Average operating speeds (including all stops in stations) according to CFR, are in 2018:
    • 39 km/h for Regio trains
    • 55 km/h for InterRegio trains
However the Main lines are as follow

    Line Route
    Line 200 Brașov–Sibiu–Vințu de Jos–Deva–Arad–Curtici
    Line 300 Bucharest–Ploiești–Brașov–Sighișoara–Câmpia Turzii–Cluj-Napoca–Oradea–Episcopia Bihor
    Line 400 Brașov–Sfântu Gheorghe–Toplița–Deda–Saratel–Dej–Jibou–Baia Mare–Satu Mare–Halmeu
    Line 500 Bucharest–Ploiești–Buzău–Focșani–Bacău–Roman–Suceava–Vicşani
    Line 600 Făurei–Tecuci–Bârlad–Vaslui–Iași–Ungheni
    Line 700 Bucharest–Urziceni–Făurei–Brăila–Galați
    Line 800 Bucharest–Fetești–Cernavodă–Constanța–Mangalia
    Line 900 Bucharest–Craiova–Drobeta-Turnu Severin–Caransebeș–Lugoj–Timișoara–Stamora Moravița

And the small/general services are listed bellow with most services running out of Bucharest:

    Route Rolling stock

Bucharest – Iași (Now InterRegio) Yes
Bucharest – Bacău – Suceava (Now InterRegio) Yes
Bucharest – Brăila – Galați (Now InterRegio) Yes
Bucharest – Brașov – Alba Iulia – Arad(EuroCity with InterRegio fares to Budapest-346 Dacia train or 472 Ister train) Yes
Bucharest – Brașov – Cluj-Napoca (Branch of the Trains which run to Budapest) Yes
Bucharest – Brașov – Miercurea Ciuc – Târgu Mureș (Now InterRegio) Yes
Timișoara - Cluj Napoca (Now InterRegio) Yes

If a route that interested me, of that length or HD space became available. Id make sure that my console could run it. Can expand Console hard drives or add SSD’s nowadays.

Cost and time is another thing. Oakville Subdivision is 24 miles. Cost 30 dollar
Chicago-Los Angeles is 2100 miles and should then cost 2000 dollar or more to buy
And should take several years to produce.
So much space in hard drive and a a fortune to buy.
We must hope Microsoft doing trainsim in future so it easier to do routes than now

Crewe to Swansea with the 175 153 158 and the class 150/2. It's roughly 250 miles so why not?

Route length to me isn’t necessarily what’s important. I don’t care about length, as long as the route has a lot of variety and. You could enjoy a small route with a lot to do over a long route that could be boring.

I’d like to see the Altoona to Johnstown section of the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh line.

I'd love to see DTG take a stab at Covent Garden to Leicester Square. They should be able to manage that, as most of it is in a tunnel, which they could represent as a featureless tube. It is about 300 (three hundred...!) yards long, so they might not be able to do all of it for just £24.99.

What Patchouge to Jamaica station there’s one train that takes 1 hour and 34 minutes it’s train 8460 I’m not sure where it stops but it would definitely be awesome to see part of the south shore of Long Island sometime in the future.

Paddington to Penzance either set around 1960 with WR steam and some early diesel hydaulics and DMU's. Failing that a version set a bit later in the BR Blue period.

However that would be extremely unrealistic so a recreation of Riviera in the 50's would suit me fine, possibly with the full Mortenhampstead branch line, maybe going to Plymouth too with the Brent to Kingsbridge branch. A service mode representing a summer Saturday in the 50's would provide a very busy and interesting experience. One can hope we might see something like it in the future.

What's the use in that? It's got everything I hate about these DTG routes, and everything I imagine the OP hates, for having created this thread in the first place. I don't want to take over the train from some other smelly driver at Leicester Square and sit in his pool of sweat. No! I want to have driven the train all the way from Heathrow, Rayner's Lane or Northfields. Nor do I want to get booted out at Covent Garden (and having to climb all those stairs too!). No! I want the whole route. I want to drive to Cockfosters!

The Picadilly Line's fine, but you've picked the wrong bit of it. Holborn to Aldwych is the route we want. Admittedly it's over a hundred yards longer than Covent Garden to Leicester Square, which might place it beyond DTG's means, but it is a complete route.

You'd get the tracks going in both directions. So Covent Garden - Leicester Square is not as short as you think - because the other tunnel is a "route unto itself".

Also - there must be at least 600 trains going in each direction, every day. So a full 24 hr timetable could have over 1000 individual service scenarios.

Can you imagine the trophies? "Covent Garden Market Mille Mille" - Complete 1000 services in each direction.

Running through 4 different contries (NL-BE-FR-UK) would be interesting, wouldn't it?

For now, at least, I think it'd be too long for Dovetail to recreate, at least for consoles.....
