First specific game I remember was Pole Position on my cousin's Commodore 64. We had a pong style game console which plugged into the TV well before that, but I couldn't tell you what it was! Edit: After some Googling, I'm pretty sure it was the Grandstand Adman 2000, this old brick of a thing. Man, I feel old.
Hmmm hard to say but maybe Snoopy Tennis, Nintendo Game and Watch. I had a few of those, still have the Mario bros double screen one
It was actually in early 90's and the game was Sopwith: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sopwith_(video_game) Wow what an experience was that Only good memories
I was in high school and played Pong when it first came out -- Before that -- I was the remote control for the TV for my dad... "dang it son change to the other channel and adjust the rabbit ears" ... now that was a fun game.....
First game? probably something involving glooping apricot desert up my brother's bed. First electronic game would be mid eighties, I remember having an electronic shoot em up similar to space invaders. First computer loaded from a tape drive (which crashed a lot), some time around 1986 First "proper" game would be Street Fighter II at an arcade in Cwmbran in 1992 First console, NES, then SNES, N64, PS2, PS3 And always a PC, but then I work in IT support and management
My first experience with electronic games was on the Atari 2600: As far as what games, I remember playing Combat, Ms Pacman, Tennis (more like advanced pong), and Space Invaders at a friend's house who also had a 2600.
Tic-tac-toe, probably, using pencil and paper. Like many others who hang out around these forums for some reason or other, my early gaming experiences didn't require a lot of expensive, energy-consuming equipment.
Blimey! am I late to the party Train Sim was the first game I ever played this year on a PC that was powerful enough to play it
I know this is old but I started playing games with the Either WII or the PS2 for the WII it was Need For Speed Undercover With the PS2 it was I want to say Need For Speed Underground 2 or Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec
Computergames: The colossal cave, a text adventure. During lunch time this was open to play at the central computer system of the research institute where I worked. Non computer games: I really do not know.
Sonic the Hedgehog on the SEGA Mega Drive when I was 4. It wasn’t until I was 15 that I was able to beat the first game with all of the Chaos Emeralds without cheat codes. I’m 29 now and still do a yearly, back to back playthrough of Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles. All fantastic games
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 at a neighbors house, when Sonic was at the peak of his 90s career, leading to a life time love of Sega and Sonic!
Probably peek-a-boo with my parents when I was a baby. Also that thing where a teaspoon of food was made to sound like an aeroplane as it flew towards my mouth. A very early flight simulator.
I had a bootleg game console when I was really young, which I enjoyed, even though it was terrible. The first proper game I played was probably WiiSports/Resort or WiiParty at a friend's house, and later on Gran Turismo 5 at another's (we had so much fun with that). The first game I actually owned was Lego Batman for the PSP, which came in a bundle, I didn't touch it for about a year though because I wasn't really interested, but afterwards I started to become a gamer. And now I own about 150 DLCs for Train Simulator. And four copies of GTA 5. And six copies of Minecraft. But my gaming life has peaked, because I recently got one of the most highly anticipated video games of all time. It is a beautiful action game that was considered by IGN to be a masterpiece... I'm joking about the review. It received a 1/10 and is considered one of the worst PS2 games ever. The person who got it for my paid 1 pence for it.
The first game i ever played was birth, and I spectacularly failed trying to emerge into the world feet first, the second game i played was life and 40 years later I'm still terrible at it.........
First one I had was pong tennis on the black and white TV, first pc game was Tracon 2 from Wesson played on a 286 DOS (before Windows)
British Bulldog on the concrete yard in primary school. The aim was to have two teams at each end of the yard who'd try to make it to the other end of the yard without being tagged (or, more accurately, had the living daylights beaten out of them) by the opposing team members. Whoever managed to get the most team members from one end of the yard to other without being tagged (or with the least amount of bloodied noses, scuffed elbows and torn shirts...it was pretty much proof that someone had been tagged if they carried an injury, or sported a ripped shirt sleeve and killed any 'you never got us' arguments dead in the water) won the round before the remaining team members went at it again. Wash, rinse and repeat until you have the last man standing. The key to a match win was to draw as much blood as possible before the teachers put a halt to it. On one of them there new fangled electrical devices, it was either Daredevil Dennis or Frak! on the old BBC Micro school computers we had shared between the entire school.
