So another vintage US route that I'll suggest for TSW2 is the Feather River Canyon, however, I'm suggesting the Eastern Side of the route, from Keddie, to Portola. The route can start at Paxton Siding, just West of the Keddie Wye. From there the route will travel towards the town of Portola, CA which is roughly about 45 track miles.

Some notable places of interest on the route are the Keddie Wye, Williams Loop, Clio Trestle, and the Spring Garden Tunnel.

The route itself can also additionally add in the Quincy Railroad shortline for local freight dutys (Which exchanges with the WP at Quincy Junction just east of Keddie) and part of the Inside Gateway north of the Keddie Wye.

The ideal era for this route would be the 1960's to 1970, this allowing the California Zephyr to be ran on the route, the train had stops at Keddie and Portola.

    Locomotives:

    EMD F7/FP7
    [IMG]

    EMD GP20
    [IMG]

    EMD GP35
    [IMG]

    GE U30B
    [IMG]

Alternatively, if possible, the original Feather River Canyon from TS20XX from Oroville to Keddie can also be considered as well....

The Feather River route is needed. Plus we'd get a few classic diesels. I'd love to see the F-Units on the CZ. The Keddie Wye is an amazing landmark. Perhaps we could get one section of the route (either Keddie to Portola or Oroville to Keddie) and a later extension. The Quincy RR should also be included. The Quincy RR would add their SW1200 and/or SW7, plus a GE 44 Tonner, Alco S1, and/or TR6A to the route (maybe a couple of these could be DLCs) which would be great for interchange services and switching. Also, I'd like to add the WP GP40 as a potential DLC or inclusion.

Excellent idea and how about combining this with Train Sim 21 Feather River Canyon Oroville to Keddie segment then Keddie Portola. Once Dovetail games gets the necessary knowledge making longer routes for Train Sim World 2. Remember in the sister game train simulator 21 LGV Mediterranean Line is sold as a bundle with Rhone Alps Lyon Avignon for $20

I would love to see this route in TSW, it would be nice to see some of the old EMDs and GEs in the game. The F7 is already in TSW so it shouldn’t be that hard to convert it into an FP7.

Yeah absolute a favorite route for me in TSW
This route is a Up route (So Dovetail can do it) and its so a beautiful single-track route (I prefer) in mountain terrain
Dan Have did a incredible video of 2 mile (3000 meters) freight train goes downhill this route (1500 meters down).

do you think the EMD FT would be a good choice for this route? along with the F7s Western pacific owned a lot of FTs and it would add Driving differences from the F7s since you have to Manually do the Transitions unlike F7s which have Automatic Transitions even in a F7 if coupled to a FT You have to do the Manual transitions for the FT on the F7's transition lever
    Overall a great suggestion

And maybe updating into the 1990s/1980s, to accommodate Amtrak.

Amtrak doesn't use the Feather River Canyon to cross over the Sierra Nevadas, they use Donner Pass.

I think Donner Pass would be another route as well. From Roseville to Sacramento or Truckee. Depending on far you want to go.

Gonna open up the era for this route, with one possible era is the mid 1980s. This would set it shortly after the Union Pacific acquired the Western Pacific.

Now the main reason I would like to see this of the Feather River represented, instead of the modern era, is due to the power that Union Pacific used.

    And that was the DDA40X....
    34351540994_879cbf4bdd_b.jpg

Shortly after the Union Pacific acquired the Western Pacific, these massive units found their way on the route, a massive change from the 4 axle diesel power that the WP had always ran on the line. Though they were eventually retired between 1984 to 1986.

So locomotive proposals for this era would be...

EMD SD40-2 (Modified from the CC version)

Good idea and if Adam Jaime and JD Saw this they can convince Skyhook games to activate C30-7 for a 1980s Cane Creek timetable.

Western Pacific era as it has the same rolling stock and engines as the Clintchfeild and all that would have to be added is the passenger cars.

That wouldn't make sense, in the 1980, the Cane Creek area was owned by the Rio Grande Railroad, by the time the Union Pacific got ahold of it, those locos were pretty much long gone or on the way out.

Speaking of Union Pacific/Rio Grande, How's these for a proposal? Union Pacific's Blue Mountain route in Oregon or Rio Grande/Union Pacific's Moffat Sub in Colorado

Normally I would have myself a good drive on the route in the original WP setting. But, also in UPs retro era is not a bad idea. Gives a good opportunity to bring out some 6-axel power for fun, and intrigued to add a Centennial with it as well, that would be an interesting drive indeed.

Especially in the 1990s with GE D8-40Cs and EMD SD60Ms.
