The BR 101 will come without a cab car, everybody should know this now. I don't think DTG will make a Loco-DLC for another Loco-DLC (the people who could buy that would be smaller every time), so I have an better idea. Produce a route which includes the BR 120 and have new Intercity-coachs. Then, you produce the Cab car with a Bordbistro (you may also produce ex-Interregio coachs) as Loco-DLC for this route. But, on which route there could be a good place for the BR 120? I know one route: Rostock - Bad Kleinen (71 km) - Schwerin (87 km) - Hagenow (116 km) - Büchen (165 km) - Hamburg (212 km) (of course you won't build the complete route). Why this route? On this route is a lot BR 120 action: there are long-distance-trains every 2 houres (since 2018 most trains drive with ICE-T) on which you could place the BR 120.1 with Intercity coachs (with substitution for BR 101) and there are regional-express-trains (RE1) every 2 houres, which had mostly driven with the BR 120.2. The BR 120.1 and the BR 120.2 are nearly the same. You include Intercity coachs (like I had written above) and Doppelstockwagen (4. Generation). The RE1 drives since 2013 also with the BR 182 and the BR 112.1 is also sometimes driving this trains. Of course, the complete route Rostock - Hamburg would be very long, so I suggest Rostock - Schwerin (87 km). On this map, you see the route from Rostock to Schwerin (just ignore the lines to Wismar and Warnemünde). The IC and ICE trains stop at Rostock Hbf, Bützow and Schwerin Hbf, some trains also stop in Bad Kleinen, so there are 2 or 3 stops for long distance trains. The RE1 stops everywhere except Papendorf, Pölchow, Huckstorf and Lübstorf. There are also the S2 (every hour) and the RE2/RB17 (better: the RE4/RE7, would be more realistic) where you could drive with the BR 143 and Dostos (not 100% realistic). There is also the RE4 (or in the past RE6) between Bützow and Bad Kleinen, which drives with the BR 623 (as RE4) or with the BR 628.4 (as RE6). If you want to learn more about this route, check out this thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/rostock-bad-kleinen.32793/ Now some pictures: BR 120.1: BR 120.2: Station Bad Kleinen: Short as conclusion, what could this DLC include: 87 kilometer long route from Rostock to Schwerin The BR 120.1 with Intercity coachs The BR 120.2 with Doppelstockwagen (4. Generation) The BR 143 with some freight coachs (also as loco for Doppelstockwagen) Optional: route to Rostock seaport for better freight action In future, you can produce the Intercity cab car for this route (and everybody is happy lol)
Even without considering the DB BR 101 cab car, this actually looks like a really interesting route with a lot of service and train variety in it. There would be a lot of potential for layers as well which is fantastic. Do you know what freight trains operate on this route?
There are some freight trains to Rostock Seaport and a few to Wismar. But that are just very few services (as comparison to other routes like MSB). Tracks for turned off trains are in Schwerin-Görries (a few kilometres under Schwerin Hbf), in Lübstorf, in Bad Kleinen, in Blankenberg(Meckl), in Bützow and in Schwaan.
Well this would still mean we could have the occasional freight run in the timetable from layers, even if not as many as other routes. Do you know what locos run these freight services?
This is a great post and I support both ideas, the 120 with IC coaches and a Rostock route. But I'd rather see the line shortened to Bad Kleinen and the Rostock port included. Without the port, it's just another passenger route which we have lots of already. But the 120 is lovely and would definitely be one of my favourite locos to drive.
Articuno nearly everything: BR 143 (in the past), BR 155 (in the past), BR 185.2, BR 187, BR 204 (rare), BR 232... (of course also other locos, but they we have/get in TSW2). At the moment, there is often the BR 193. The Vossloh G6 operates in Rostock Hbf (is shunting Dostos). In the seaport the BR 298 is shunting. And freight don't have to come with layers, the route could include freight coaches for the BR 143 (which can also serving the other regional-express trains). The number of freight trains could be something like 8 - 12 per direction, that would be realistic I think.
