After London Bakerloo line, a French metro line can be so great : a line passing over the Seine like the line 5 from Place d Italie to Bobigny (S/N), or an "overground" and "underground" line like the 2nd one which passes from Nation to Porte Dauphine (E/W)... It can be very interesting, and add more french lines...
Oh yes!, but I prefer metro line 6, it seems much more special to me because of the displacement technology it uses, which is almost unique in the world Most of the route is done from the outside and also has privileged views of the most famous national monument in France
Excellent Idea and for Line 6 MP73 these might be replaced by MP14 with a driver cab. Lines 11,4,14 & 1 use MP14 driverless ATO. Their best bet is a Steel Wheel line like Lines 2,5 & 7 MF2000
Excellant idea. I propose the Line 13 Châtillon-Montrouge at Asnières Gennevilliers les Courtilles and Saint Denis Université
I agree it is a nice idea! And I've already did an article about it, feel free to read! https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/paris-metro-lines.13658/ Aswell as proposals for Paris commuter lines: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/rer-b-ligne-de-sceaux-paris-rapid-transit-system.16213/ https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/transilien-l-line-paris-versailles.20151/ https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/rer-a-paris-with-the-ms-61.20632/
Yes, they do, as KVB, VACMA and Crocodile are standard safety systems in France. The RER line A, though, is using a special system on the most busy sector, the SACEM: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Système_d'aide_à_la_conduite,_à_l'exploitation_et_à_la_maintenance
The replacement of the MP73 model by the MP14 is scheduled for 2024 on line 6, which means that they have 2-3 years, enough time to be able to recreate it, if they wanted. And in any case, disused models have already been recreated, see for example the Stock 1938 model of the London Underground ... I do not understand why several of you think that it is a problem to program the movement of rubber wheels instead of steel wheels, can someone explain it to me? The reason of introducing a line like 6 it is innovation, giving something original to this game. Something that attracts people's attention to buy it. It is not a bad idea to introduce steel wheel models, but honestly, they seem very boring in comparison. The idea of adding line 13 seems very good, with the MP89 model, but it would be repeating the same dynamic as with the Bakerloo line (half north outside - half south underground).
How long has steam taken? Do you seriously think DTG would spend the better part of a year developing a system for one train?
Well, in Santiago de Chile the variant of the MP89 is used, the NS93. Surely there is also some other country that uses that same type of rail system... In the Paris underground, this rail system is used or has been used in the past by the following models: MP51 Prototype (La Grand-Mére) - 1950/1954 MP55 - 1956/1999 MP59 - 1963/2022 MP73 - 1974/2024 MP89 - 1997/? And I have not included the MP05 or the MP14, because they are automatic...
I found a video showing more examples of countries using rubber wheel technology. Truly I was very pleasantly surprised, because I did not think there were so many ...
