I have recently brought the Class 89 'Badger' in the lunar steam sale and now that I have played the career scenarios that came with it I went looking for more, I have checked on the steam workshop page and through the workshop tab in game and have found none available, Does anyone know where I can find any and why there are none in the workshop, Many Thanks :)

There are none on the Workshop because nobody has created any for the 89
You could use the loco in any scenario on an electrified route by swapping the loco it should have for the 89

Find a workshop Scenario that should have the Class 91 and swap it for the 89 - that is what the loco did in real life

Do you have a list anywhere with "loco equivalents" as you say above Class 89 and 91 seem interchangeable.
A list like that would be great for us plebs who can't distinguish one loco from another!!:)

It was basically a test loco, and as such ran both East and West coast mainlines. Initially, after being built it was at Crewe depot for WCML testing, so you could swap a 86 or 87 in BR Executive livery for it.

I think that in 1995 or 1996 it was sold to GNER and did the Kings Cross to Leeds/Bradford route from 1997 to 2000 until it broke. So anything on that route in that livery would work.... assuming there is a blue/orange GNER reskin for it.. I've no idea. I don't own the 89... the class 86 sounds put me off.

When you read up on the Class 89 it was used on BR then GNER services on the ECML running from Kings Cross to Leeds.
So one day the train might be a 91 & Mk4s and the next day the 89 and Mk4s but it rarely went to York or beyond.

Not sure about a list of "loco equivalents"

Some locos went almost everywhere - the Class 47 with 512 locos built
Other classes kept to certain areas the 22, 35, 42, 43 & 52 Hydraulics kept themselves generally to the Western Region
Class 55 Deltics spent most of their life on the East Coast Mainline from London to Leeds, Hull, York, Newcastle and Edinburgh.
Class 45 and 46 were mixed in with Class 47 working with the Class 45s in charge of most Midland Main Line services
Note Midland Main Line refers to the route and nothing to do with Train Operating Companies
Class 40s were seen mainly on the ER, LM & ScR
Class 37s were mainly ER, WR and ScR locos
Class 33 and 73 were mainly Southern locos only stretching their wings in later BR days
Class 26 and 27 were Scottish region allocated locos and did not stray south of the border too much.
Class 25 were on most regions apart from the southern but only moving to the Western after the withdrawal of some Hydraulic locos

Best way of seeing what look right is google for pictures of the locos in action

Many thanks that helps a lot when using TS-Tools to swap out similar locos!

The 55's also ventured to Liverpool towards the end of their lives working Trans Pennine services...

They were a common site here in Blackpool, and many Blackpool to Manchester services in the 70s and 80s were loco hauled with Mk1 stock. You'd always see 40s at Preston.

In the Regional Rail period, 37s and 31s were seen in the north west hauling MK2 stock on passenger services. The "club trains" were a common site right up until privatisation.

Weren't 37s seen pretty much everywhere, at least in later BR days? There are more than enough photos of 37s hauling steel in Wales and even coal to Didcot

I was not trying to do a list of what happened with the BR Fleet thru time
It was just a general overview of what the railway was line in BR Blue days
Yes, I had forgotten the Class 37s were Western Region locos from early days.

As the railway was split up in to different sectors the locos were moved around a lot more than original
It was just made as a guide.

I have been looking for a challenge, I'll have a go at making a scenario for the 89 "Badger" and put it on the Workshop.
As Peter states I can base it around a Class 91 Timetable or maybe IC exec 86 / 87 ?????
I am currently furloughed from work this coming week so will have time on my hands to play. YAY

After 2 days spent creating a Class 89 Badger scenario from scratch, I wonder if this could be a reason why no other scenarios for this loco are on the workshop.
    Can't-Publish.jpg
I have uninstalled and re-installed the 89 through manage DLC, have deleted the 89 pack folder entirely from Assets and re-installed, Verified Integrity, can't think what else I can try. As soon as I swap the 89 for any other loco it allows me to publish no problem.
Baffled I am, can't understand why DTG doesn't recognise it's own product.
Any advise or recomendations are welcome. TIA

Before I came to Durham from Stourbridge I saw a grand total of one Class 37. I was in art class at school from where one had a good view of the sidings and wasn't the only one who got distracted. In the north east of course it was novel if you looked at the railway and didn't see one.

Thanks for the flag on the Class 89 upload, I've escalated it. I'd suggest giving it an hour and trying to upload again.

EDIT: Just been updated that this should now be fixed.

    Best, Steve

This is a good example of why people should report a problem via the Help Desk
Fixed within two hours of reporting

    Well done DTG :)

Glad it seems to be working out. Don’t have the badger yet, maybe one day, though....

There is a slight flaw in the scenario in that a loco can not couple to a Mk4 FO

Mk4 sets always ran with the Loco at the North end coupled to the one coach with a normal Buckeye,
If it was necessary to run the loco at the London end the Mk4 DVT was still included for the engine to couple to.

Stick the Mk4 DVT between the loco and train and job done

    Cheers Peter
Thanks for giving me the nod on that, you certainly are a fountain of knowledge.
I just swapped over the 91 for the 89, do they not use the same couplings?

Yes they do but any loco can only couple to the DVT or the TSO(E) which does not have a gangway at the outer end and has buffers
TSO(E) the E means End of train and is Coach B
    http://www.theaylesburynews.com/images/BR Mk4 TGS buffers KX_13-12-07.jpg

And a normal Mk4 coach without any buffers
    https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/db/BR_Mk.IV_TSO_No.12538_(8080188337).jpg

    An interesting article
    https://penlowry.wordpress.com/2016/11/04/purposeful-but-not-pretty/

The DVT is also where the Train Guard sits and any bikes go - mail in BR days

Ahhh get it now, as you say I have coupled the 89 to a bufferless coach ooops!
They obviously got the train the wrong way round in the original scenario for the 91 and not realised.
I know now for future use.
    Thanks
