So piggybacking off the area which I made a suggestion for TS2020: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...ramento-roseville-oroville.23338/#post-141383 I think the Sacramento Area can be a good short switching, freight, and passenger route for TSW. The route could focus on the mainline between Davis and Roseville, a span of about 31 miles, though it could get pushed to Fairfield, a distance of almost 60 miles. Also the line to Stockton from Sacamento could get extended to about Elk Grove, an addition distance of 16 miles , which would give us a few switching operations in that area, including Siemens Mobility. -Siemens Mobility Passenger Services on the line would be one of 2 trains, the Capitol Corridor, or Amtrak's California Zephyr. Both of these trains stop in Davis, Sacramento, and Roseville. The Zephyr doesn't stop in Fairfield however. Other passenger trains that also partially run this line is the Coast Starlight (Davis, Sacramento) and the San Joaquin (Sacramento, Train# 701,702,703,&704 only) -Davis -Sacramento -Roseville Freight Services would be primarily Union Pacific, set in the modern times, though this area was ex SP trackage. The main yard for this route would be the JR Davis yard in Roseville, and would include the hump yard and loco shops. A smaller yard in West Sacramento exchanges cars with the Sierra Northern for services in West Sac and Woodland. Some POI on the route would be the I Street Bridge, California Railroad Museum, and Southern Pacific Sacramento Shops.
Locomotives: Union Pacific -GE Evo Series -C44ACM -SD59MX -SD40N -GP22T4 -GP60 -Gensets (The Sierra Northern bought a few Ex-UP Gensets, so these could be used to switch West Sacramento) Amtrak/Amtrak California -GE P42 -Siemens Charger SC-44 -EMD F59PHI Rolling Stock -Amtrak Viewliner Baggage Cars (Seen these on Amtrak California trains as well) -Amtrak Superliners -California Cars and Cab Cars
I'll say I DO like the look of this, however, your UP engine choices are very odd I must say. If DTG made this you would probably get the GEVO, but instead of that rebuilt sd50, you'd probably get a SD70M and a reused AC4400CW
Excellent idea and for the GE Evo series those are actually 2600s tier 4 2015 emission standards locomotives Union Pacific Fleet. At the same time they can fit into Sand Patch Grade if those received a reskin into CSX 3300s-3400s which are actually common sight on Sand Patch Grade there right now keeping in mind state of Maryland coronavirus restrictions.
I don't know, not being local, the routes seem to have a pretty similar "look" to them to me. SF and Sacramento are only like, what, 100 miles apart? The rolling stock is very different- at least they wouldn't be able to recycle lol
Absolutely correct. However some of the rolling stock can be reskinned into CSX Paint like the Gevo 2600s tier 4 becoming CSX 3200s-3300s for Sand Patch Grade. Also consider Cane Creek giving locomotives to this route
Maybe that’s why DTG is not making many American routes, and when they do decide to make one they ask “what rolling stock can we recycle from previous routes to use them here?”
Good points lol. I keep forgetting about Cane Creek- hope we actually get to see some screens of the locos soon.
That's the Union Pacific new route made by Skyhook Games. That's why you need to pay close attention to the DTG Live and their YouTube Streams to determine which routes are next. This route needs to come after Cane Creek so that Cane Creek gives locomotives on this route. in return Davis Roseville gives locomotives to Cane Creek. You tend to see this more on German routes with Haputstrecke Hamburg-Lübeck giving BR112 to Main Spessart Bahn Haputstrecke München Augsburg Haputstrecke Rhein-Ruhr Schnellfahrstrecke Rhein-Ruhr Osten and Ruhr-Sieg Nord. In Return Main Spessart Bahn gives DB BR146.2 with Dostos to SKA HRR RRO RSN HMA and Haputstrecke Hamburg-Lübeck.
