Looks great and it got me thinking that an Olympic-themed livery designer contest would probably be pretty cool… people being in different countries that they could represent through their designs and whatnot. Lots of possibilities.

Yeah, unfortunately the term "Olympics" and the olympic rings are trademarked so it would make it too difficult for them to run it.

Unbelievable liveries here ! Did not want to waste my time with this "editor", but could not resist to try it one more time.

    3p38 - 2

Hello everyone Goldenticket420 here.I finally finished the New York and Atlantic livery on train Sim World 2 using the slightly frustrating Livery designer, but nevertheless I'm completely satisfied and definitely feeling that moment of accomplishment for it took me a few months to finally get the hang of it and get everything right and on a quick note I still do have to add the "&" manually because the editor does not have designed by default. A bigger challenge for me especially due to the fact I did everything with 1arm, and in case anyone follows up with a question to that last remark answer to you is., yes I'm paralyzed.I'm c4 c6 quadriplegic incomplete from being struck by a driver at the age of 18 and 2012 in my hometown Brooklyn New York. Sorry for the dark backstory. I am happy to say I also I finished the Long Island Rail Road's M9 100% and will also be presenting. In the upcoming week or so I hope you all like it cheers. I also added a little weathering.

I made two new creations today (one of which I can't play due to a bug :()

First: BR 363 810-3 in IC livery (I can't get it to work in timetable mode)

a picture of the original for comparison

I made this livery of 363 810-3, which was painted in this IC/ICE livery for it's duties at Maschen Depot in real life. I think it's a neat livery to see.

I haven't added all the writing on the grey area below the cab, but there is some stuff there (not that accurate though, a few more german loading and speed tables would be great). There are also warning shields on the exhaust between the windows, and on the opposite side of the cab (the ones with text are only in English though, I hope to see German ones someday). I've added a bit of simple light weathering, as the loco in real life isn't very dirty either (though I have seen one picture where it was). The railings were a bit finnicky to keep white, but with some use of the projection tool (just learned how useful that one is), it was alright, although some have been missed. Same deal for the roof, needed the projection tool for that, but once I used it it worked great. One issue is that the antenna on top of the cab is not repaintable in TSW, which means it stays gray, wile on the original it's the same light gray (practically white) as the rest of the loco.

    Second: BR 112 108-6

a picture of the original for comparison

I made this livery of 112 108-6, which for a long time was painted in Orientrot (orient red), part of DB's 'Produktfarben' (product colours) liveries, which lasted from the mid '80s to the mid '90s. Again there's some light and simple weathering (a bit more than on the 363). I have done a bit on the roof below the pantograph, but it's hard to do with the current set of decals. A gradient version of the 'scratches' would be great for this purpose. The stairs below the headlight on the front also aren't repaintable, which is quite annoying as they are a brownish black on the original but stay blueish gray in TSW.

I have a huge love for this era of liveries, as both the coach liveries (Red lined with pink for IC, Blue lined with pastelblue for IR, Turqouise lined with pastelturquoise for RE/RB and Orange lined with salmon for S-bahn) and loco liveries (Orientrot with 'bib' (latz in German)) are very pleasing to the eye. But what makes this era truly great is that not all rolling stock was painted in the most up to date paint scheme. This lead to a situation where coaching stock was painted in a mix of produktfarben, old West-German blue/beige and red/beige (and silver/blue or silver/black for the n-Wagen), East-German green, green/ivory and yellow ivory. Locos meanwhile were even more chaotic. Engines could be seen in their original '50s cobalt blue and chromeoxide green, blue/beige (and red/beige for the BR 103 and some BR 110's), their old DR bordeaux red colours and the newer Orientrot scheme. When the current Traffic Red was intruduced in the late '90s, the situation was even more chaotic for a while, but by the mid 2000's (nearly) everything had gotten the well known Traffic Red livery. I've included a picture below that shows the chaos of those times well. I have made two suggestions for routes from this era, the Saalebahn in the '90s and the Main-Weser- Bahn in the '90s, go check them out if these liveries interest you! :)

from front to back: Traffic red, Blue/beige, Green/ivory, Silver/blue, Traffic Red, Traffic Red, Turqoise (Produktfarben), Turqoise (Produktfarben), and what seems to be Traffic Red again.

Without trainsimcz's Livery Editor Logo Pack, I wouldn't have been able to do it, so a massive thanks to him for his effort!

I think all turned out quite well, although improvements can be made. The metallic part isn's as shiny as I'd like it, and I could add some more contrast. The red colour used is also slightly different to the base Railion ones in game, which, together with mine being weathered and the in game one not, makes it look a little weird when next to one. All are slightly weathered, and have some small details added, though they are only approximations of what is there in real life. I personally like the brown one best. After some searching I think the brown/metal livery might not be accurate, so I might change the brown on that one to black, which would be 'prototipical'. All in all I'm happy with the variety they add (see picture below) :).

Would be very kind, if you could share the liveries via TSC or RailSim. They are very well done!

I have now made a thread with some download links for my liveries, hope you enjoy!

Sadly I have only been able to get one of the habbiins liveries across so far, as the rest make the livery manager crash when I try to export them.

Yeah and I know why cause I made the same mistake: If you name your liveries with something like "(", "/" or "ä", "ö", "ü" - it will crash. Just rename them without using symbols. Then it should work fine.

I’ve been exporting liveries with the ( and ) symbols without any crashes at all so not sure about the symbols theory.

I think the issue is with certain symbols (the '/' which I used for sure) not being able to be used in file names (same issue with saving a word document). '(' and ')' should be fine though as these are able to be used in file names as far as I know.

WaveyDavey Yeah some symbols like "-" and I think "_" do work. But others don't. It's a try and error process :D

I did found out that the '/' was indeed my issue. The liveries are already available on TSC, will update my forum thread soon.

That’s what I mean it’s only symbols you can’t use in normal windows files names that will cause a crash. But obviously you shouldn’t be using those symbols anyway.

I have tried this one even it is fictional.
As jolojonasgames mentioned, it does not show up in time table mode. You have to create a scenery for the 363

How did you get a white ÖBB pflatsch logo? I thought the one in the logo pack was not repaintable. Did you make it yourself using shapes? If so, great job on it!

Thank you. The Pflatsch consists of 8 shapes, and is a trial. Initially i wanted to do a ÖBB 2048 from the BR204, but it does not show up in the livery manager.

That’s the technique I use but I only use black or near black for the roof weathering. For the lower bodyside weathering it should really be a shade of brown or light brown rather than black. Unless it’s a coal hopper of course.

And then you’ve got all the rust streaks to get started on etc…….. ;):)

Would be awesome to know how you weathered them, and how you added the perfect DB logo :)

Weathering was done similarly to the video that was posted in this thread (using the square that gets more transparent on one end, with both projection settings all the way up), using a brownish-black colour on the bottom, and a lighter sand like colour on top (except for the brown one, which uses the same brownish-black on top aswell).

The logo is from trainsimcz's logo pack, so adding that was just a small effort on my side.

So, after a long while (my last project was the Rheingold Br101, I sat down and in about one hour I build this one over here:

    upload_2021-7-27_16-24-51.jpeg

    upload_2021-7-27_16-25-1.jpeg

    upload_2021-7-27_16-25-10.jpeg

    upload_2021-7-27_16-25-16.jpeg

I think it is not 100% realistic, but anyways, I like how it came out, especially with the weathering!
Thanks for the nice video btw ;D

    Cheers!

I'd say about an hour and a half on each, except for the last (Canada) logo... that one took significantly longer and I still keep going back to it to make small adjustments. I'm happy with it but I don't think I'll do another one like that... it costs too much time and layers.

Nice work, I did a similar one recently, although mine is significantly more weathered. I do think parts of your livery are a little better than mine, we can learn a lot from eachothers work I think! :)

I do have one small bit of advice for you: degroup your decals at the end, this makes their resolution a lot clearer. I've only just learnt to do that on my liveries, and it really makes a difference if you're up close.

Looking good so far! I've made the MD&W one myself. Good luck on the C&H hopper... trying to replicate that scripting would be a massive undertaking of both time and layers. Curious to see if it can be done and how it comes out!
